Our Murray Kilowatt go kart is turning into the Megawatt! We build diy custom single control arm suspension and build a custom front brake setup using mini bike brake calipers, meaning that this Kawasaki 440cc 2 stroke snowmobile powered go kart will be ready to accelerate fast and stop fast too! We still need to work out an issue with the engine not running right, but other than that we have better suspension, a lower center of gravity, and a wider track width!

A bigger main jet should cure the open throttle bogging issues. Check the clip height on the needle too if you change out to a bigger main jet. You may have to raise the clip (lowering the needle) if you use a larger main. You may have to lower the clip (raising the needle) you never really know until you try it. Good luck.

Just watched the episode. You guys seem to have a lot of fun. Good for you. If I am not mistaken You mentioned that you only get half throttle and then bogs out, sounds like a classic case of the crank seals leaking. Two stroke sled engines are famous for that especially if they have been sitting for a while without running( several months or longer) and not fogged out when shutdown for the last season it ran. Probably the PTO side or could be both. Spray a little carb cleaner behind the clutch on the seal when it is running. If it revs up you know the seal is leaking.

I'm far from a suspension expert but when Ike first got in and bounced his butt up and down a few times all 4 shocks compressed, not just the front or back but all 4 moved about the same amount, that must be a sign of a well balanced vehicle.

It’s crazy to think me and my brother have been watching since the beginning when we were teens, I believe I was 13. I’m now 21 and still watching lol. Thinking back watching you guys is probably a big reason we got into go karts, 4 wheelers, etc. I remember the good old days when you guys used the shop with the checkered floor and trying to race the yard with out tearing up the grass. Any thoughts on more 4 wheeler content? Keep up the great videos

Love that cart! It’s funny, about a month before you brought the Murray back, I’d been thinking, “ man, I sure wish they’d bring the Murray back.” 😆 I originally discovered you guys approx. three years ago - give or take, and have been watching you ever since. It’s not surprising to see how y’all have grown; you’re great guys and seem to be great friends. Charles was a great addition to the family. By the way, I’m still waiting for you guys to build a rear engine dragster cart. 😉 You’ve built a vintage style dragster, now I’d like/love to see what you can do with a down-sized, ‘modern’ type with a larger displacement engine. Could be exciting. Love you guys, keep up the great work!!! 😄

The Murray still needs a cross member welded up top to strengthen the roll bar. It looks a little flimsy up there.

You can mount the seat straight to the 1/4" plate and do away with the factory bracket and gain tons of leg room too! I also bought some 1-1/4" light bar brackets to mount a windshield.

Your muffler may be plugged. If it is, you can start a little wood fire and toss that pipe right in the coals. That will burn out whatever is blocking the exhaust (if anything really is). Love the content.

Altering the exhaust header flange size and length will have an effect, same with any changes to the carb or airbox if it had one from factory, it's all tuned to "get on the pipe"

Dad gum it, you’ve invented your own signature welding table an what does John do, gets back in the floor to weld the rotor on 😂, just messing with ya bud, it’s coming together pretty good, front brakes are really gonna come in handy to, that wider front end will really help out where you least expect it to going through the mud and the rear tires tracking in their own tracks instead of the same as the front will really help out more than youd think really 🤙🏼

For off road having chassis level to 1/2" taller in front is ideal for handling. Also having 1/4-1/2 of toe out in the front improves handling ( off road only)

I put those same gold and black shocks on my yerf dog and it made it like a whole new go kart. Used to not be able to go full blast across my field without getting shook to death and now it just glides over everything. Couldn't believe the difference.

if it bogging down above half throttle you will want to increase the Jet size in the carb. Same thing happened to my Jetski with the replacement carb. Had to pull the jet from the old carb that was a 115 to the old one that was 135.

Some knock off Lectron flat slide carburetors would be a huge improvement. If it is a single carb set up go to duel also. It will improve power everywhere. I know the Suzuki 440 fan in the Z set up added like 8hp.

another hing about sleds is they use a high octane fuel usually above 91% my buddy runs two diff polaris sleds one with a turbo and the other with a 3 setting chipped altimeter fuel pressure and timing delay tuned turbo (which runs rich and stalls out at full throttle when cold started and computer has no time to create a tune, and also if he has put 93 pump gas in it. He uses the same technique as a lumber saw, which is required for max power and a clean burn, pure 97 ethanol race gas) it's a night and day comparison and even when used in his race xs 2 stroke bored and forged moto 125, it runs like a rocket on race gas mixed with high performance 2 stroke oil.

You guys should experiment with some aggressive aero. it helped a lot on my home build. I sculpted a big multi element wing out of insulation foam then fiber glassed it.

Since 2 strokes are very sensitive to fuel delivery, you should probably check the carbs to see if they are clogged. If not just get bigger ones or put a more resistant air filter on it

Check your fuel pump, pulse hose, hose connections and fuel flow. Not sure what you’re running for a carb. Mikuni? Make sure jets are clean. If it still dies out at higher rpm’s I would check crank seals for leakage.
