Upgrading your print farm may not be necessary, I talk about my experience with running my Ender 3 v2 print farm after 4 years, and where it machines stack up against faster newer 3d printers such as the CR-10 SE and Bambu Labs X1 Carbon
Here is the main equipment I use in my print farm
=========================================
Creality CR-10 SE: amzn.to/3OMnCre
Hatchbox PLA: amzn.to/3uudfS3
Enclosure: amzn.to/3SH3nwb

Just found you. Love it when you search 3d print farm and hardly anything comes up. Gonna go through bunch of videos. Subbed! I ageee though. I still use my 9.5 year old lulzbot i built oct 2014. Finally upgraded to a new Wuxn WXR and have been blown away. But my lulzbot is still alive and kicking just not as fast or high quality. Oh and its super loud lol

Thank you for the sub! I hope to provide more valuable 3d print farm content. I'm just your average guy sharing what I learn along the way!

So very true. It might be tempting to upgrade to the latest and greatest, but that also eats into profits significantly. A factory can have a 30 year old machine that they paid $1m for and it's still pumping out products. They could spend another $1m to get the latest technology, but if it does what is needed then it's just a waste of money. If building a new factory, it might be worth it to buy a new machine instead of finding a second-hand older one, but the tool that you already have is sometimes the best...especially if profits are involved.

0 post processing. It's all in the tuning! Unfortunately most of the parts are for customers so I cannot show them in detail.

Cool beans. I have 2 ender 3v2s and a ender 3v3 Se. I have just started my 3d print farm about 2 months ago. I can't wait to upgrade and get more printers. Thanks for the video. It helped me make up my mind about the next couple printer's I want to purchase.

The v3 SE is hands down the best value machine on the market right now. Especially given how fast they print.

This is a great video. It summarizes my feelings about Bambu printers being like I-Phones and being amazing printers, but no customization. Your video presents this is a good way that doesn't come across as being "fanboy" or a hater. I have Prusa's and Bambu's and I prefer my Prusas. I just ordered the upgrade kits to go to 3.5. I don't hate my Bambu at all, I just know there is no path for upgrading.

Thank you! Bambu machines definitely have their strengths. Never tried Prusa but I have never heard anything bad about them.

crazy just how much I needed to hear this...🤣 I had to ice my 3d printing operation for almost a year now. and now that I'm gearing up to restart, I'm a bit unsure of whether my old printers are still fit for purpose.

You have a good point on speed on one machine or volume on slower machines. You have 1 Bamboo and it goes down you have zero output. You have 4 open source cheapers and one goes down you have 3 machines working.
@collect3d

Exactly! I will say the CR-10 SE is no slouch! I can buy 3 CR-10 SEs for the price of one X1 Carbon, or 2 P1S machines, the CR-10 SEs will still produce more parts and an overall better value when running a print farm. Of course multi color printing is another story, but I am producing functional parts for my customers so no need for multi color.

I haven't checked out CR-10 SE much. Several people I trust have very good things to say about the new Ender 3 V3 SE (creality naming) for around $200. People complain about v wheels but that now 4 year old plus used ender 3 pro I have is on its original wheels and it prints ABS in a wood enclosure.@@collect3d

Can you provide feedback on your auto eject system? Converting my empty 3000 sq ft warehouse to 3d print farm and looking for something that will auto eject. Appreciate all your content.

The best machines for the money I have ever used are the Sovol SV06 printers.. we easily get 5000+ hours of PETG printing out of them with no modifications and then just buy a new one for $200. going on 350,000 hours of printing now. Our top of the line are Statasys F370s and a 450MC.

I gave the Sovols a good amount of consideration, but ultimately I did not go for it because of the frame design and reading feedback that it is not as rigid. The CR-10 seemed a lot more rigid and suitable for the forces the bed sees from the part removal system. The thick linear Y axis rail helps a lot on the CR-10 SE. On my ender 3v2 I had to replace one set of v rollers after a few months of using the part removal system.

So I guess you got the CR-10 SE machines, before the Bambu Lab A1 was released. Just wondering how the CR10-SE compares to the A1 and also the new Ender 3 V3 ? Quality? The size of the A1 is bigger and the Bambu performance/quality has been out performing others so far.

The reason I went with cr10 se is because it has been rooted so I have full access to the firmware. It's also very sturdy with thick linear rail for the Y axis and cast aluminum frame.

I build relationships with other small businesses that needed items for the things they sell. Could be anything from cosmetic to functional parts. When you build relationships with other like minded small businesses we tend to want to help and grow each other. Social media like Instagram and tiktok is a good way to build relationships with other small businesses.

@@collect3d I like your content and it is very useful and informative. So you have doubled the speed for your E3s and bumped up the acceleration. Guess, you found that these speeds for you have kept the quality that you desired and higher settings fail short. Do you have you auto eject system out there? Maybe you should post it for a fee ?

@@collect3d look into the Voron Switchwire conversion kit for the Ender 3, you'll like it much better than the Beltender. On my CR-10 I was just about to go that route, then I came across the Voron conversion, since I had already done a full linear rail swap years ago, this swap was a no brainer.

What kind of enclosure do you use? I got a standard size from Creality, and it's too narrow to fit my CR-10 SE. Also, how did you extend the touchscreen cable of the CR-10 SE?
@collect3d
@collect3d 7 месяцев назад
I use the standard enclosure, I relocated my display so its a little more narrow. You do have to sort of twist and turn the printer to get it inside of the enclosure, but it fits.
