Charlie, You have more fun 3D printing, than anyone I know. It's very easy to chuckle along with you, and for that I thank you. I look forward to new videos and enjoy rewatching your old videos.
Very cool technique. Might be useful in situations to avoid needing support or to change orientation of layers in different areas of the print (to improve feature strength.)
Hi Charlie, you can design the case in F360 and adding the text as well. When done, you run the code until it is finished with the black PLA. YOu add a pause in this position, change the filament and proceed. This makes it easier because you can print in one run. I am not sure how to do it in CURA but in Siplify3D, it is an easy task. Or search for the PAUSE in MARLIN GCODE tables. I am new to CNC but did a lot in 3D printing over the last 10 years.... got 4 Printers at the moment :-)
Yes, true. However, with this particular part I had to turn it upside down to print the text on it. In this case, a single run wouldn't work very well.
It's all good. I have previously done as you mentioned, just not yet with lettering, lol. The g code for my printer is pretty much the same as my CNC, so putting a pause in is pretty simple.
