In this video, I go through writing a complete “HELLO WORLD” CNC program for the purposes of a gCode exercise for the beginner. Having a bit of gcode variety, It makes for great practice. I invite you to follow along and write this program as well.

Notepad for G-code editing and mach3 for cnc controller.

Hi, I have a 3040 and every time I press the home button for the machine to go to zero. it does pause and move again all the way back every 1 cm. Do I need to change anything in the settings? I use mach3. Thanks for your help.

how did you calculate the I and J ?

+sam terian Absolute IJ mode (G90.1): Arc center distance from program origin. Incremental IJ mode (G91.1): Arc center distance from arc start point. I is X. J is Y. Does this help you out?
