Was looking for a first introduction to 3dcoat, I find it hard to follow what's going on (07:16). It would help if you gave a more structured step-by-step tutorial, this seems to be for advanced users. Thanks for sharing what you know, I will watch your next tutorial afterwards.

great bro. great job. your work really inspires me as well. I’m trying to repeat, but don’t understand how you made an imitation of strokes in the air. I'm trying to do in zbrush using display properties, the texture becomes transparent But everything that is painted on it becomes invisible too. tell me how you did it.?

How did you project the image onto the object at 5:23? I do not understand how you went from Photoshop to projecting the image perfectly in a Color Palette window inside 3D Coat.

and what if you have a 3d model and you have 3 different projection map, for example a gun. a top view a side view and bottom view. how do you project 3 different views on one modell in 3d coat?

Hey Miki I was sad to hear you say the alphas are shit in 3D Coat! I was hoping 3D Coat would be the solution to paint alpha cards and move them around the scene. :( Where / how do you do the transparent parts, then?

I did the step-by-step in your video, however the paintings in photoshop never projected back in 3D coat. I don't know where it went wrong, I did the exact things you did in the video and waited up to 30 minutes. Nothing happened.

hmm many things can cause this issue, my guess would be that your PC can't handle the projection for some reason. a few ideas, if non of them work I suggest contacting the developers. check if the model you have in 3dcoat has correct uvws. if the uvws are messy / undefined , then the projection can be extremely slow in Edit menu, there is "External editor projection scale" , in there you want to try and reduce the % of the projection, it takes more time to project in higher resolution. if non of these work, try and create a simple cube in a 3D software of your choosing, make sure the uvws are correct, and try to project onto the cube (box) to see if it's a performance issue. if 3dcoat projects corretly onto the box, then maybe the original model you wanted to project to was either too high in polycount, or the texture size of the model was too big for your PC to handle. best wishes
