Thanks for touching on this subject with different layers and using the stencil tool.

Nice tutorial. I am very new to 3DC and never thought such effect can be achieved with layers. May I know how to set the view port background to have the radial gradient like yours?

You can change the gradient from top to bottom or bring in a background image of your own by going to Edit > Preferences> Themes. There are a lot of choices to play with. Hope that helps 👍

Have updated to the latest version? That might have been added, but not 100% sure. I'll have to give it a try.

I can't seem to get multiple layers to show up, I'm having trouble determining good depth settings for them... And the depth settings are confusing in general.

my friend tells me that is easy to sculpt rock than in zbrush. I was really familiar with trimsmooth border, how was in 3d coat sculpting?

Is this an alternative to the paint room. ? Would I be able to sculpt. Paint retopo and bake without using the paint room?

Yes, but your detail is based on the voxel resolution. Since it's not UV texture-based. When you are ready then you can export it out with the option to decimate with auto UVs all in one. It might not be what you want but I'm hoping this gets better and better, and could be a real way to look dev a model.

Hi Mels, I'm using the 3d Connexion space mouse wireless. Here's a link to the one I use. I found it to be a game changer for me especially for sculpting. It took me about an hour or so to get used to it, but once I did.... Didn't want to go back. Here's the link if you are interested in learning more. 3dconnexion.com/us/product/spacemouse-wireless/

@@industrytuts5272 Yep, this 100%. I invested in the SpaceMouse Enterprise for the engineering work I do in SolidWorks, and it has been equally groundbreaking for all of the other programs that support it, including 3D Coat and Blender.
