I also use Blender a lot, but even with all Blender's great addons, 3dsmax is miles ahead in terms of plugins and the ability to create full scenes with plugins on the fly. I still love Blender overall, but it's hard to beat the parametric modifiers and plugins that are available with 3dsmax. Also the vast amount of free maxscripts out there make it very hard to beat if you need to create stuff really quickly.
thx... for all of us architects, a few know how much stress we "eat" to combine 3d skills + design to create something that somebody will actually live inside it...
actually 3Ds max was created for you (architects & designers) to solve real world problems and create products in the first place, it is getting easier but still a lot of work. normal people think that 3D artists click magic buttons :)
So glad to hear that from you :) My advice to every kind of 3D artist: because we consume our eyes health and our brain cells to make an idea, get payed more than you think. Someone with your "piece of cake" 3D will make a lot of money...
This really is the one area of 3d where 3dsmax is still miles ahead of any other 3d package, including Blender. Blender has some really great addons, but 3dsmax has addons that really allow you to create entire scenes with just a few clicks, and everything tends to remain procedural in most of them. Plus all the scripts out there, it's very hard to beat for making really fast scenes of almost anything. Especially architectural stuff.
Most of these plugins I tried , I like the video and yes these are very powerful plugins and the best actually for 3ds max , but honestly buggy like ghost town after purchasing it I was regretting buying it, painful learning curves for some of them and expensive for Paid plugins ... and as you mentioned , discontinuation of developing some of the plugins is a complete frustration for opening files in the future , with missing plugin messages and also lose control if not the whole work done with it , I used 3ds max for more than 22 years , it was amazing till 2014 , then downward spiral started for some reason and development became utterly slow ... Blender on the other hand is mysteriously more intuitive and powerful than 3ds max without plugins ! and even if plugin is around , it can be revived if needed with python scripting power , and no missing plugin messages except for special render engines that requires special materials which are not necessary as there is powerful in-house renderers , autodesk must do something in the next version to settle the case a bit 😅 if they done what they do every year and blender released another powerful release , 3ds max will die sooner ! But I think after the road map they shown they are up to a powerful release
