Would this work for vinyl leather? I’m trying to recreate bike pads that go over a bike frame. Think of a children’s bike. I have LV vinyl leather material and I was curious if I’d stick to foam?

Hello and thank you for watching BB's Life, my name is Brian. Depending on the surface of the foam pad. If the pad shows a gloss or shines, it might have difficulty sticking. That's why they usually use velcro to attach the material. But, if you can scuff or sand the shine down, it will help with sticking the two materiala together. Be sure to spray the glue on both parts, the LV vinly and Pad, allowing drying time before applying the two together. To answer the question directly (Yes) the two pieces being used should stick with 3M Strong hold spray glue. Have a good day!

Hello and nice to meet you virtually Sir Michael. Thanks for watching BB's Life. The two contact cements I've used as a spray adhesive with a nice finish were "WELD & 3M" both offer products that hold well. When using WELD for a spray glue gun you might have to thin the glue with Toluene, Ethyl Acetate or Methylene Chloride. Vinyl is usually a bit thicker and selecting the stongest adhesive could help with hotter tempatures. I like a 2.0 tip in the glue gun with a stringy layout when spraying. Also, apply glue to both pieces of material and let it dry some before sticking the two together. I hope this helps you out with a nice longlasting finish in higher heat.

When spraying the glue should I wait a couple minutes before applying the fabric ? I’m doing all my pillars and headliner In suede. It’ll be my first time as well so I’m trying to do research before doing it. TIA

Thanks for watching. When using suede be sure not to shoot the glue at close range or use to much glue, it tends to bleed through the fabric and glues the suede in one place. I suggest a 12 to 16 inch distance when laying the glue and very stringing almost dry in the air before landing on the suede. I hope it works out and Good Luck. Here`s a video with a headliner: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NrAiSSIZV7Q.html

Yes, usually I wait according to how tacky the glue is on the material. Touch it on the edges with your finger and if it feels wet than wait longer. If, it stays on the material and feels dry than its ready to apply. Be sure to apply on both the material and item being covered. I hope it works out for you. Respectfully, Brian

Nice to meet you virtually, Brian. If you haven't already applied it, be sure to apply the glue on each side before application. Meaning spray the product being used on one side of the new headliner material. Then apply a coat of glue to the molded shell. Allow the glue to become tacky before sticking the two pieces together. That product usually lasts a couple of years for a headliner, if your automobile is not in constant warm or hot weather. If your automobile is in the heat, it's best to use a professional spray glue gun, that runs off compressed air with the commercial grade 3M contact cement. I hope it all works out, have a great day! Here's a link to what I'm talking about. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NrAiSSIZV7Q.html

What’s your tips for indoor/outdoor carpet for a boat gong on plywood and aluminum
@BBsLIFE
@BBsLIFE 5 месяцев назад
Hello and nice to meet you virtually, my name is Brian. When using indoor / outdoor carpet with a rubber coating on the bottom, it holds best when the glue is applied with a brush or roller on both the carpet bottom and surface that it's being applied too. Applying extra glue when used in the marine industry is normal, but before applying the carpet to its surface area the wait time is longer allowing the glue to become tacky or close to dry to the touch. Then apply the two together for a strong bond. Try not to peel the carpet up once its applied or the glue might only be on one surface area. Have a nice day and Good Luck!
