Great job, thanks for the review! NW Michigan here and the only internet in my area is WIFI hotspot. And it's bad at it's best, expensive and totally unusable once there's traffic. Looking foreward to starlink!
I just setup my gen 3 starlink flat and not obstructed on my van. It seems to do just as well flat and 19 degrees out of alignment as it did aligned on the ground with the stand. Between 200 & 300 mbps and 20 up.
Love Starlink We don’t have that one but Gen 2 I think It Got hit by lightning in October It needs to have a ground though Cause of the lightning ⚡️ great customer service too. I have at least 4-15 things on at a time . We will put it on a 30 foot tower with a ground .
I'm assuming you're talking about the range test. When iPhones detect a wifi network is becoming unstable, it will fail over to cellular almost immediately (Including the symbol change) without disconnecting from the wifi network. It will continue to try the wifi network first with new requests. When data starts transferring over wifi again it doesn't change the symbol immediately, it takes a few seconds. The wifi network most likely experienced just a moment of packet loss due to being on the edge of range and that triggered the symbol change. Not to mention the ~28 by ~16 i pulled in the video would NOT have been possible on LTE from where i was standing. In hindsight i should have just turned off the cellular radio. But, like i said in the video right after... i did testing that proved i wasn't using cellular but it was too long to leave in. Why would i say that if it wasn't true? What benefit would i have from just making some shit up? Do you think SpaceX is paying some random dumbass that wasn't smart enough to disable the cellular radio to promote the great range of the router as part of some nefarious marketing campaign?
I just bought my Gen 3 Starlink, set it up real quick on my front yard, was getting over 300 Mbps, and 30ish Mbps upload. Taking it with me to Mexico for a couple months.
