Finally a good video showing these and what they actually look like. So many other videos, people are in the back of their garage with their phone camera that can't adjust to light coming from the open garage door. You guys just made wish that I had ordered the reds instead of jet black. But either way, these lights look awesome and y'all did a great job of showcasing that. Thank you.
Yes no one shows braking and signal at same time . I've seen issue with no brake light while signals are on. on the older version (mine) had to put OEM back on
I have/had a set of AlphaRex Tails on My Tundra in smoke.... The passenger stop light failed less than 1 year 4K miles... Have been in touch with Alpharex at least 5 times and still don't have a replacement.... Poor customer service buyer beware.
Had the originals 3rd gen alpha Rex headlights for about 2 months before the left driver side got hit by a closet door lol probably gonna buy these in the near future 😎
@R4T I just discovered that at night while driving the tail lights are off. (Yes my headlights were on and everything) But The Alpha Rex Luxx taillights only turned on when I stepped on the break, signaled, or put it in reverse. Is this normal?
I have a 2018 Silverado installed the alpha Rex tail lights now my blinkers blink, real fast and on the dash it says turn signal malfunction. How can I fix that?
I had the last model tail light but they had a huge gap between tail light and body of truck. Had to buy half inch sponge like sealer to keep water out. I hope these fit tight to body like stock lights do.
@@Runnin4Tacos Nvm. I didn’t realize it activates when you turn your headlights on. I thought it was supposed to activate when you turn on the truck lol
@@brunoflores4002 Absolutely. Have one on order that should be here today or tomorrow. What I'm curious about is the outside door handle. If I'm not mistaken (at least on my 2018 Limited) the exterior door handles have a chrome trim piece.
I just got them too for my 22 try sport and the connectors on the lights are flat and the wiring harness from the truck is totally different. Did you ever get this resolved?
@stephenlarue850 no, I'm having to return them...apparently the ones that were sent are for the "led package" sure I could splice them and make it work, but I'm just going to return and get the correct ones.
@@jsracer3 I was thinking the same thing. When I ordered mine from Tacoma Lifestyle it just said fits all Tacomas and easy 5 minute install…. No mention that there is different wiring harnesses.
@@stephenlarue850 same exact issue I ran into...description said compatible with all 16-23 tacomas....but once I contacted them about a return....thats when they explained about these being for tacomas with the led package only. That's something I felt should have been made clear in the descriptions to avoid this issue, but a lesson learned for sure.
@@jsracer3 did you purchase from Tacoma Lifestyle? Are they refunding in full including return shipping cost on them and/sending you the correct ones with no additional charge shipping?
What about brakes ON while activating a turn signal or the hazard lights? I’ve had the previous Alpha Rex model of these on my Taco for months now and just discovered the other day that the turn signal is canceled out when the brake pedal is depressed, because the turn signal and brakes use the same light. Same with the hazard lights. This creates a safety concern in long braking scenarios, because following drivers no longer see a turn signal or hazard lights when the brakes are applied. I’m considering upgrading to this new set, but don’t see the point if they’re lacking in a separation of the braking and turn indicator/hazard lights features. From what I’ve seen in your video, it appears that they likely do, but I’m still wondering since it wasn’t specifically demonstrated. Looking forward to your response so that I can determine whether to upgrade my upgrade 🤓 Thanks for another great video!
Mine had this problem. Switched back to OEM . Big safety hazard Alpha Rex kept paying dumb when I would email them sent video after video showing them the issue but got nothing out of it, gave up and gave up on this company.Sucks cause lights look so nice
