3rd Performance - Delilah - "Heat Wave" By Martha & The Vandellas - Sing Off - Series 3 

Why am I the only person that loved this performance🤔

They needed more altos in the middle. If you listen real closely, once Hannah jumps off the lead to support the harmonies it fills the gap in between the sopranos and the bass. But once she jumps back to lead the song is left feeling "empty" in the middle.

Right at 3:16. Hannah sings a rhythmic harmony that supports the low end. Filling in that "gap".

The lead singer with the blonde hair can SANGGGGG

They did the best they could with what they were given. Proud of them 100%

This is one of my favorite performances of them. With this type of song I think it was a great choice to cheese it up and the energy stayed high which sold the song.

kendall's cheesy facial expressions are what make this performance even better.

You guys are all nuts, this was awesome.

They could have done better seperating into parts and creating more harmonies... they also could have gone higher instead of staying in a comfortable pitch range

maybe I am deaf, but I thought they did good. The sixties was cutsy and kinda ditzy girl groups. They did the best they could with it. Made it modern and put a sixties flare with it to pay tribute to the original song.

@Ardy1125 Agreed...the main problem wasn't with the energetic song...it was like Shawn said, they had bass and sorpranos, but they didn't really have the in between ranges that this song required ♥♥

They did what they were supposed to with this. It was bubble gum music, so of course it wasn't moving or touching. You know how they recover from this tomorrow? Unleashing Candace on the competition with something like Total Eclipse of the Heart. We all remember when she did No One, and I don't think her name has been mentioned once since the intro package.

This song was actually well performed; AND I'd argue, that this shows a whole other side of Delilah. The arrangement was dull, but at the same time, they did a lot of very small things subtly that, if you listen to it, really makes their version unique. It's pretty clear, by the comments afterward, that the judges judged it based on their previous experience with them, and not based on what creates a good song. They def didn't deserve to be in the bottom two for this song.

I don't think the judges were very fair. It was a solid vocal performance. Just not as good as the previous two weeks, but much better than the majority of the other groups.

I think they did a great job with this song. Have any of you ever watch some recordings of the original? They don't do a lot of dancing. Honestly, they did more than Martha reeves and the vendellas lol. Besides, the majority of you criticizing have no musical talent whatsoever.

I can't help but think that the producers wanted some gratuitous eye candy. I enjoyed Hannah and Kendall's leads, but the original song really didn't give them much source material to interpret--I mean, it's cutesy girl-group Motown, and what you heard was pretty much what you got. As far as I'm concerned, the ladies dodged a bullet this episode, and hopefully they'll have better songs to work with in later weeks.

They Got screwed over with the song choice here

I was not impressed with this song, not now when I am watching it years later, or when I first saw it when it aired live. It just... didn't do anything for me. It felt then, and it still feels like they just didn't know what to do and just kept it as it was - they didn't build harmonies that fit the song, they didn't really make their own, it just almost felt like any generic record I could find in the 60s. This was where I first saw them struggle.

Honestly they didn't sound too bad but it was just a bad song choice.

The vocals were appropriate for the 60s style but I think it was the choreography was distracting- they just did too much.

1st time i can recall genuinely disliking a performance,,,they sapped all the soul out of the original number, like little girls trying on mommy's dress. very bad song choice, whoever made it.
