Treasure this moment Dylan. You pushed through years of improvement and close calls and that all led up to this average. I’m so honored to have witnessed your progress over the past few years, I remember when you got the very first sub 7 3 look average back in 2021, and I was so happy that 3 look had finally been proven to be officially viable. And now you’ve proven that 2 look is the future. You’ve pushed square-1 to its absolute limit, and that is the essence of speedcubing. In 2016 I genuinely believed that one day 2 look would be possible, and what an amazing sight to see it finally realized with a WR. You are the GOAT dujak, the whole squan community is so proud of you ❤️❤️❤️ Ok enough glazing learn WS- 8 slicers they’re not that hard
The sheer amount of effort you put into developing, practicing and solving Square-1 is unmatched. Watching you go from getting your first sub 7 average to getting your first sub 6 then now WORLD RECORD is literally mental. Huge congrats dude, no one else in the world deserves this more than you do. KEEP PUSHING THIS FURTHER! 🎉
That was so amazing to watch and the reaction of the cubing community is a testament to your effort and contributions in sq-1! Hope there are more wrs to follow!
The first thing that comes to my mind is Tymon's 4.86 Wr average, you both got the extra after 5th solves, even your averages are really close to each others and that just shows how good your nerve control really is
im so glad to have been there throughout your journey. i knew long ago that you were gonna do something crazy with this event. your dedication to the event is unmatched, not just by the practice you put in, but the major developments in that you have dedicated yourself to working on. this journey has sealed you as one of the greatest of all time not just within square-1, but within all of cubing. you put in all the work to get this, you went as far as to do the things that were deemed unviable and insane, and you made that a reality. truly one of cubing’s most inspiring moments. thank you for being inspiring to all of us. im honored to call you a friend of mine, and i’m unbelievably proud of you. - bendy
i know you probably wont agree with me, but this is THE sq1 wr your story might be one of the most inspiring in all of cubing and we all knew it would come to this point, it was just a matter of when.
“I believe in things that are developed through hard work. I always like people who have developed long and hard, especially through introspection and a lot of dedication. I think what they arrive at is usually a much deeper and more beautiful thing than the person who seems to have that ability and fluidity from the beginning. I say this because it’s a good message to give to young talents who feel as I used to” - Bill Evans Congrats Dylan! Your solves mean the world to me
It’s about time this finally happened, this is the most deserved wr I have ever seen in any event. Your incredible work ethic and willingness to bet on things deemed too difficult to be viable have been so inspiring to watch over the past year and a half, and being able to call you a friend is an absolute honor. Hopefully the first of many, and congratulations once again for this unbelievable feat!
The two "OMG" made me laughed so hard xD Congrats on your WR!! 0.03 jump! Also really need to thank the scrambler of the misscramble solve 3, because if he/she didn't misscram then we would have one more missed wr Congrats again!
Watching you grow from your first competition in 2019 has been honorable, and thus, the journey is not even close to the end. You are destined for greater achievements in this event and I along with everyone is so proud of you Dylan. Congratulations❤️
you have deserved this for years and i couldn’t be happier to see it finally happen now. i remember sitting next to you in cubemas 2019 finals while we both got mid 12 overall pb averages, and now look where you are. it has been an honor to see you grow into the absolute legend you are now. your dedication is insane. creating an entire new method, especially one as complex as oblp, is no small feat, we all know how much time and effort you put into it. you have been so capable of this for so long, all your “almosts” have been so painful to watch, i couldn’t imagine how it would feel to experience them. your perseverance through all of them is inspiring. i was so worried that this would be another almost at no fault of your own but on the extra you pushed through the insane nerves and terrible cases and you did it. i’m so beyond proud of you dylan. you have been such a massive inspiration to me and to everyone around you. i can’t wait to see all the amazing things the future holds for you. i’m truly blessed to be able to call you a friend. congrats ❤️❤️
Congratulatons Dylan, this is by far the most deserved wr i've ever seen in my cubing career. I'm so incredibly happy for you and i can't wait to know what the future holds.
i knew you could do it. oblp has and will change square one so much and honestly since you are the only one THIS consistent at it, i really know more wrs will come from you. good luck on more wrs
You've been grinding this for... the majority of your life at this point? I hope you always respect the sheer effort you've put in to getting to this point.
Easily one of the most deserved world records I've ever seen. Your ridiculous dedication to this event is legitimately so inspiring and seeing you finally pull through after the so many insane averages you've had is just so incredible. Might not be world record by too much, but in terms of the event, this is one of the most monumental world records, if not the most. You are definitely the best squanner, and this solidifies that. G fucking G dujak, you are actually the fucking goat, and I'm so proud to see this finally pull through.
I’ve only known you for a year or so, but that entire time i knew that every average you went up for was genuinely world record potential and im so impressed you finally pulled it off, good fucking shit man!
So happy I could be there to see this in person! From watching your WR potential at the time of 5.02 until now, this has been a long time coming. I fully expect more records from you in the future. Can’t wait to see how low squan average can go with 2-look!
So proud of you man. To see your journey over the past couple years with square-1 and your recent averages in comp I knew that world-record was just a matter of time. insane!!!!
The practice over the past years is actually insane. I remember when you created such advanced techniques and all the struggles and fails. But finally you've achieved greatness. I can't think of somebody else who put in this much average. Congrats Dylan!
Like I may have mentioned before, anyone willing to push the event further than anyone else has deserves anything, especially being the best in the world. Huge congrats on the long awaited record!
Everything has lead up to this moment. We all knew this was gonna happen soon. Congrats on this incredible achievement, Dylan! I can't think of anyone who deserves this more. PS.: The deleted 5.21 reminds me of Tymon cluching 4.86 wr average. You are the goat. The 4.97 is now the best solve of all time.
Congrats man, it’s been a long time coming! I can tell it wasn’t easy getting here, speaking from experience as someone who’s just starting on OBLP now.
SO INCREDIBLY PROUD!!! really amazing to have seen your progress from developing oblp, to using it officially, and in a wr 🔥 you've been an inspiration to so many cubers out there (including myself), and we've all known it was only a matter of time before this happened. congrats once again!
I forgot when I first see u doing OBLP, but I remember I was like “wow those solves are so comfortable to watch and so smooth”. I know it’s the future of square 1, might even be the most optimized way of solving square 1 ever. So happy to see it works and finally getting WR avg. Also congrats on ur previous wins in nationals. The averages has been super consistent.
