I really like the Trans Am conversions, but not for that price. They're hand modified by order or sometimes in small series of around 20 and cost well over 100k
@@0pposite221 Well, even a stock Camaro is absurdly expensive in my country, so.. But just knowing they exist is cool, at least I can see the pictures lol
@@vffa I know right and another that looks bad and I'm glad I don't see anyone doing a "Twisted Sister" type of car man I can't believe that NASCAR let race teams do that back in the 2000's.
As a PC enthusiast... FUCK RGB. It's literally on fucking everything, cables included. If i could choose to get parts with no RGB I'd do it. The 100 bucks i save, I'd spend on higher quality components, costum cables etc.
@@TheHighborn I particularly think RGB in computer parts is horrible, maybe in a neutral color I'll change my mind but for now I just like keyboard and mouse with RGB because I play at night
If Pontiac made a new muscle car under the camaro platform, I bet it would still be around. And don't tell me that it's against the lineage, if it's still a muscle car, I'm alright (looking at you Mach E)
I actually know someone who has something I call the Carvairo as it's half Corvair and half 1st gen Camaro. Too bad I don't have any pictures of it as honestly, they actually did a fairly good job with it. Best way I can describe it is that it is sky blue with the front, hood, front fenders, and taillights of a Corvair and the body, rear quarters, trunk, and spoiler of a 1st gen Camaro.
Honestly static stance seems like so much work like damn I just want to drive a car and be comfortable not worrying about scraping against everything lol
Honestly, when you brought up rusty wraps I was like "Damn who does that, rust looks god awful why would you purpose fully make your car look rusty? ". Then I saw some of the pics and I went like "Well shit, this has an oddly satisfying thing to it". I cant really explain what it is, but for some reason I kinda dig the aesthetic. I'd never put it on my car, as my one is actually rusty as shit underneath already and I just spent the past weeks repairing rust on my body panels. But on some of these cars it looked unique and interesting. Almost like seeing modern art: you probably wouldnt put it into your livingroom, but it catches your eye and intrigues you. And considering lights: on offroad trucks or stuff like that, I think lightbars can look really cool. As long as they're actually useful and you dont overdo it. However, I'm kind of a sucker for sequential blinkers and underglow. Probably because the latter is illegal in my entire country, and because of Tokyo Drift and Need for Speed.
@@ghoulbuster1 Lights are illegal because they can be dangerous. They can disturb other drivers and cause an accident. Basically, almost any form of lights except for head- and taillights is illegal. And even some headlights are. So no underglow of any kind, no glowing wheels and no coloured headlights. At least not while your driving. I get why these laws are there, but sometimes its just a little annoying how limited we are in terms of modifications like these.
I actually like coupes or saloons being turned into pickup-trucks. For reasons I don't know and wouldn't understand utes aren't very popular outside of Australia and that's a pitty, cause they're just so cool!
1. I think it's just for the aesthetic. Some people like weird stuff, and a rusty car (without the drawbacks of it being rusty) is an interesting aesthetic. It's a harmless mod in the end. 2. The first reason why I think people do this is because they have two cars; one totaled in the front, and the other totaled in the rear. So instead of having two broken cars; combining them gives you at least one functioning, but weird, car. Beyond that, I can't say
They should revive Pontiac sometime after the Pandemic, I mean the SUV market is huge and they still have 9 years to make a engine powered Trans-am before some states pass the “no gas powered vehicles act”
@@averageforzaplayer1048 i believe it would be a disaster for any state to pass a ban like that, and it would also face alot of backlash(My personal opinion) Edit: I may have misunderstood, they might not ban all gas powered vehicle, but they might ban the manufacture and sale of the vehicles in those states, which would still face alot of backlash
There is a company in Florida that takes Camaro ZL1’s from the factory and turns them into GM certified “Trans Ams” it’s just expensive, like $90-$100k expensive
I had that new Pontiac pop into my feed one time and was appalled at how it looked but it grew on me when I read about it because of the work they did to the drivetrain
Id like to see the superbird conversion on a widebody version of the challenger. I think that would look pretty neat, especially with legit nascar spec wheels.
*Sees modern firebird design as thumbnail* *Reminded that GM canceled the 6th gen Z28 which would've had the flat-plane V8 of the C8 Z06* Anyways though, great video and love your channel!
When I was in the military, one of my soldiers was running late for formation during a snow event. His excuse, his extremely lowered Honda Civic was plowing the road all the way from his house to the base. That was the best laugh I had that day.
I completely understand the Camaro to Trans Am builds. The 5th gen Camaro was getting showed off in the 2007 Transformers movie and people were HYPED… including many die hard Pontiac fans. Then the recession hit, Pontiac got the axe in 2009, and the Camaro came out in 2010. Since the 3rd and 4th gen Firebird/Trans Am was essentially the same body as the Camaro, it made perfect sense for the aftermarket to step up and make bumpers, hood, wheels, and interior bits to satisfy the disappointed Pontiac fans. It also made perfect sense to go with the 2nd gen “1977” style because that’s the one from the first Smokey and the Bandit.
i really love the custom ute builds! it is most likely since i am swedish and over here a lot of people used to chop up old volvos or bmws and have tiny tray on the rear and limit them to 30kmh to register them as an "a-traktor" which you can drive with a moped licence at the age of 15
The gate keeping stance is so true and super funny. Personally I don’t partake seriously in it but I’ll walk up to someone and be like so when you dropping it to the floor as a sort of conversation starter. Usually they’ll laugh tell me what they actually want to do to it.
I like the modern muscle conversions because the camaro and firebird where always the same chassis set up just different front clips same with supervised Daytona chargers
This was probably mentioned in another video but the gatekeeping bit reminded me of the guys who would tell you how to mod your car. I got a stock miata that I painfully rebuilt. I put a short shifter in it and got hand me down coilovers from a friend, that's it. Ever since I've gotten it I've had way too many people telling me how to treat my car and some even have the nerve to tell me my miata is a waste if not modded. Gatekeepers are why I loathe most car meets now.
Some people in US loves converting their own cars into wagon since not many wagons are sold there. People also made a Challenger into a wagon. Chrysler 300C was never sold as a wagon in the North America, but Chrysler 300c Touring was actually sold in Europe.
Lightbars and other auxiliary lights are an extremely common mod here in Finland, even a lot of non-car people pay someone to install a lightbar on their Kia or whatever. It's just because we have to drive quite a lot, there isn't much sunlight from mid-fall to early spring, and a lot of roads are unlit to save on costs. I swear, like 1/3 or half of cars i see on the road have some kind of frontal lighting mod, either aftermarket LED/HID or a basic lightbar.
I'd say every car enthusiast is bad with money, or they're Mannie Khoshbin. Although, he just has tons of money and can invest in cars, like, actually invest, with returns.
1:00 That one I actually quite like. I just can't quite put my finger on why. On a sidenote, on my way home from work today, I saw an early-mid 90's Corolla 4-door painted orange, and with a *huge* late model Supra-like wing on the back, just... bigger (about 2x)...
Pick-up conversions are actually pretty cool :D In some areas of the world, having extra lights are almost required, but it's mostly limited to a pair or 3-4 extra "buckets" in the front, or a roof-mounted light-bar. Extra lights are very common in the Nordic countries, due to the abundance of wildlife (more specifically moose), and it is key that you are able to spot them in time.
That BMW UTE you showed in the video is based on two real concepts from BMW. The first one was based on the E30 M3, BMW honestly thought there was a market for an E30 pickup truck. People laughed at it and it faded into obscurity. Until the E92 M3 came out and they decided to try it again. This one was more intentionally goofy and thought to be an April Fools prank by some. They even gave the cab a targa roof so it's half E92 M3 convertible and half pickup truck. This one was a more serious attempt while leaning into the goofy aesthetic. It put out 420 hp and had a load capacity of over 1,000 lbs. Just thought I'd share some of that knowledge, and that the BMW UTE in the video is inspired by something BMW actually tried to manufacture twice.
Speaking of trans ams, Trans Am Depot/Trans Am Worldwide now builds new modern licensed trans ams that look and function properly and don’t look as ugly as those kits you find on the market. I think they’re latest release was a 455 super duty 1000hp trans am. And before that they had Burt Reynolds sign all of their 77 Firebird Trans am Smokey and the Bandit edition cars, pretty legit tbh and quite amazing what they’re doing
Combining cars... man I have never seen it in person till I went to Mecum 2024. Saw a C5 Corvette with a C1 facelift, and a shooting brake rear end. Absolutely insane.
-what do you do as a hobby? Stance Gang: I stockpile splitters, bumpers and side skirts so i can destroy them in my driveway once i leave to the car meets
I straight luv Bladed’s vids. I find myself agreeing with a whole lot of what he puts out. I must be getting old or I just still have class.🤔 Keep it coming Brotha💪🏽
talking about utes, you could buy straight-out-of-the-factory utes in Australia. they have Holden Commodore ute & Ford Falcon Ute. and you can get a V8 choice. Unfortunately they’d been discontinued few years ago.
-Stagea with an R34 GTR front end and turned into a Ute -Rusty livery -Shit ton of unnecessary lights -and gets stancypants fitment, camber & slam to the point it don’t move Ight got my list
If combo-cars, vinyl wraps and lights are somewhat reasonable - lowering car to the point where you cant even drive out of your personal space is laughable to say the least, the only reason why I legitimately hate it - people literally scrap money on asphalt and whatever parts they spent on, so not only they risk damaging stuff, but also once stuck - they could potentially cause blockages/jams on the road, lol.
When I hear Bladed Angel talk, I imagine Engineering Explained’s face for some reason lol. Idk why I don’t know what you look like but his face and your voice fit
Speaking of stance and impractical mods, I do miss the mid 90’s fringe trend of larger rear wheels compared to the front. A different kind of “stance” I guess. Typically seen on Euro vehicles at the time and comically often on FWD cars lol. And it wasn’t super obvious, just a nice clean look. Not like you’d see a VW Golf with 16’s up front and 20’s out back. Usually just one inch between them, maybe two inches at the most. A subtle but cool race-inspired look.
2:10 This Mustang ute, or Mustero was actually a real thing at one point, back in the sixties Beverly Hills Ford had it where you could commission one from their dealership, they didn't sell very well so only like 3-4 still exist today.
A while back I was living in North Carolina and traveled through Virginia on my way back to my former home of New York State!! In one of my travels I passed by a body shop I had been by a hundred times on these trips when I noticed a 1949 Mercury sitting outside the place and next to it was a 1953 Chevy Pick Up! Both of them were pretty sweet....so being curious I stopped to look at them!! As I got out of my car though I noted something "off" about both of them!! Come to find out as I inspected the cars closer....the 1953 Chevy 5100 wasn't a 1953 at all.....it was an S-10 with 1953 body panels welded to it!! The 1949 Mercury on the other hand was actually a 1989 (roughly) Thunderbird super coupe with Mercury Body Panels welded fast!! They were both very tastefully done and you really had to look close to realize what the actual cars were underneath their skins!!! BUT the interiors gave the biggest hint to what they were, as they still had their modern parts!!
