Hi guys welcome back 😊! WOW WOW WOW my second mountain in 1 month, who am I? I had the best time in the Lake District and cannot wait to go back. Heading to the largest national park in England, climbing Scafell Pike and seeing Wastwater, the deepest lake in the Lake District fulfilled the travel bug inside me indeed!

If you’re going to do more mountains, I definitely recommend walking poles. You’ll be less out of breath on the way up and they give you more stability on the way down. Absolute game changer

Scafell is pronounced Scarfell I lived up there for a few years enjoy it's fab !! The name for people who climb these peaks are nicknamed Cragrats by the locals !!

Good video . Castlerigg Stone Circle is interesting whilst standing in the middle we could hear the wind whistling round us, sounded spooky. Cat Bells views are worth it at the top. Very good climbing Scafell.

Good effort on Scafell and I hope you enjoyed your time in the Lakes, although I'm not from here I have been here for two years and live between staff accommodation and my wee mazda bongo, mostly the latter although I am building version 3.0 just now. The place you were at when you hiked Catbells is a common park up of mine, the small cut in isn't the greatest but in the morning when there's a cloud inversion or the sky is on fire then its beautiful. Anyway, new to the channel, enjoying the videos so far.

Another destination we did as family holiday, when I was knee high to a grasshopper, glad you enjoyed scarfell pike, foggy or not still satisfying, but stay safe doing this alone. Mountain weather can change and sneak up on you very quickly :-)

Great Video, Looks like you need a little help with choosing your cold weather gear, You would enjoy your travels a lot more if you were Warmer, There is a big differance between Hiking gear and Cold Weather Gear, Good luck and have fun, Big Hi to Onyx,

Out of the three Nationals, Scafell is the best because it's not like Snowdon and the front of BN Your brave setting off intending to walk down in the dark some of the routes off are lethal 😂 #suspense

I didn't read anything about it before I went as I don't like to throw myself off these things 😂 But ye from the comments I should have rang an air ambulance in advance! I'm now hoping to do Ben Nevis at some point but it really depends on corona virus. Thanks for watching 😁

You will love Ben Nevis and its quite an easy climb, with great views over Loch Lomond. Good parking and toilet facilities, and can also camp out in the car park. All this at the foot of the climb. Look forward to your video on this. Best wishes Tony.

I have been to Loch Lomond before but never realised Ben Nevis was there 😂 Glad to hear it is easy as I found Scafell very painful 😁

@@nicroams Blame my age, but l've gave you the wrong info, silly me. Ben Lomond is the munro l was referring to, that looks over Loch Lomond. Ben Nevis is up past Fort William and lve never climbed it, but l can tell you the campsite there is first class and if you can spare £25 for a night, it well worth it. Great site and fantastic scenery. I'm sure you will love going up the mountain, it's UKs most famous and l know the views are spectacular. Hope you have a great time, whenever you get there. Me and my wife admire your courage and spirit for adventure. Take care.

Hey Nic, Keswick is where I was brought up as a child. There's a story about Castlerigg stone circle, if you spend the night (of the summer solstice) there you can allegedly hear the sound of a Roman army division marching over the nearby fell, spooky huh? Oh by the way, Keswick is a town not a village, one of those times when size does matter. Stay safe on those fell walks and keep well equipped, you can witness four seasons in a day on the fell tops, Keep your vids coming...

Hi be very carefull up on scafell pike nearly lost my life up there back about this time in 1987 bloody freezing cold it was. Good job me and my friend had some good equipment and not afraid to cuddle up! He lost a toe! And spent a week in hospital. I spent more on my socks than he did so got away relatively unscathed. So now don't go anywhere up a hill without my kit.

Stopped just outside Wastwater in November for our honeymoon. Fantastic place, definitely want to return but absolutely no plans to climb Scafell lol.

@@nicroams Go up Irton Pike next time you are up that way. You can access from Stanton Bridge (there’s an excellent cafe there) and get stunning views from the opposite side of Wastwater. A much easier climb as well. I think it took us about an hour? Lovely and peaceful up there and you may even spot red squirrels on the way 😊

Picking up my Vauxhall vivaro swb at the end of the year. Ready to build my full time home ready for spring next year. My van before that was a tiny tiny Peugeot expert but I loved it. But yeah can’t wait to get the new van up and running. You should check out my ends some point in the future. I live in Glastonbury and there are some incredible spots around here. Anyways question for you 😆 on one of your vids you say you surf and longboard 🛹 ect. Where and how do you store these in your van ? I only ask as I mountainboard , skate board and long board. I keep going through my head thinking how and where I can store these in the van that’s coming, but without taking up too much space .. by the way love the videos 👊🏻 ✌️🚐 🛹 😎

Not long to wait for your new van then! 😁. I still have many places to explore so will add that to the list 😀. I only have a longboard which I store under my bed in the "garage" section. I rent a surfboard when I go but I have seen some people either store them on their roof or ceiling of the van 😀... maybe worth looking at those options

Haha ye they're really not the funnest of walks. To be honest after going mountain biking a few months ago I don't really like walking anymore - but that's a whole other story 😂 Thanks for following along though 😁

Did you say " get my ass to the top" I'm laughing my ass off,.looks like My Washington here iñ New Hampshire, except we get major snow.. it's 6,263 feet above sea level. I've been in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado @14,000 ft,.hiking..great vlog..ty ☮️

When you park up for the night ,park with the front of your van facing the road.As a female solo traveler you need to be able to drive off in an emergency.By the way ,poo happens lol.

Thanks so much for the tip 😁 I do usually face 'outwards however I also like to park up with my windows facing the open area o I can see what's going on and my none window side being blocked off so no one can pull up right next to me without me knowing. I guess it just depends on location 😀

I have driven/camped in the area many times as I class Shropshire as my base but I still yet to walk up it. With lockdown I'm hoping to hit a few of the hills around here over the next month :) Thanks for the suggestion and watching the vlog 😁

Notice you have changed your channel name. Long time since I climbed Scafell Pike, also done Helvelin and Skidaw. That was not fog on top, but cloud base. Very sketchy coming down in the dark solo especially if you are new to climbing. You need to get some proper boots, whistle, compass, map,emergency thermal blanket, waterproof over trousers, Berghaus Deluge is what we use. I have never done Ben Nevis even though I live in Scotland, there are many more that would be less busy and just as challenging. Scotland's mountain routes are way different to any in Wales or the Lake District which have way marker points on them. For Scotland's Monros you really need to plan your route, some are obvious, but there can be a long walk in to others. I always aim to be off the hill before dark, it's just wise. Lake district is 2 hours away from us, might head down that way next year out of season. Glad you had a great time at the Lakes. 👍

Yes, I changed it maybe about 2 weeks ago now :) I have proper boots and a whistle I just followed the path up and down so there was no way I'd get lost :) I also understand a lot of people want to be down by dark but my aim is to be up there at night, I was hoping to have some great views of the milky way but it was far too cloudy! Hope you're staying safe and covid hasn't got in the way of any van travels 😁

@@nicroams lol ok but take care all the same i did the ben years ago as my second mountain with an experienced climber his advice was always carry enough gear + food that you can survive for 24 hours its not too much really but worth it in case the weather turns to shit x

What's the plan now we are back in lockdown 😬🤔😭 do you think you'll need to pause your escapades until December (or until things are "officially" returned to normal) I guess it doesn't affect you as much as some other van-lifers as at least you have a normal job as well..
