The key word is "arrested" not charged or sentenced

It's SOP (standard operating procedure). Anyone can be arrested for an offense. However, in this case, if self-defense is corroborated and confirmed through the investigation, then most likely "charges" will not be pursued.

Right!!! So if the cops showed up and killed the man that was killing others would they have been charged?

Because he just killed someone. Just cause people say it was self defense doesn’t make it self defense. The people saying that could be family members lying. The guy gets arrested and the INVESTIGATION will show it was self defense and no charges will be made against him and he will be fine.

@@ferdinand59 No way that will happen in Hawaii. Even if the evidence exists as a legitimate self defense case, Hawaii will never rule in his favor. The only way he wins is if he has top quality lawyers, which most likely he does not possess firearms insurance (USCCA, AOR, US Lawshield, etc) he will have a public defender. He'll be forced to take a plea deal and receive 20 - 30 years.
