if some one want to covert a nova 4 door to 2 door, you are showing the whole job and what is involved. they should not have any surprises. thank you for your help.
Loving the progress on the cut-down. This was normal modification back in the day, cutting long cars into short cars was quite the thing. Sometime around 1969 my friend took a 4-door Chevy station wagon and shortened it into a 2-door station wagon. Talk about turning heads.
It’s a really cool project! Thanks for sharing. My best project might have been, back in the 1990’s. Converted a 2 wheel drive 1/2 Ton Dodge pickup longbed to a 3/4 ton 4x4 using a donor extended cab. I used the 2 wheel drive frame, cut out the rivets and dropped the suspension and etc, and man, what a job. Came out really good tho. Done a few others like it. It’s sometimes crazy but it’s such a good feeling when it all comes together.
Glad to see this one coming together as well as it is. The four door Nova to me has always been beyond ugly, but knowing that it CAN be converted to a two door is nice. I'm thinking it would probably go together more smoothly if those were new parts, but it's always good to have someone who can do this kind of stuff with used parts, because they show more of how a certain part may fit, and the new parts don't do that. Also, nice to see you wearing gloves in this video.
My first hot rod as HS senior in '73 was a '70 Nova SS, L48, M21,12Blt, Dk.Green with black vinyl top. I'll never find a reasonable price 2dr. to cut up, esp.in Hawaii to build a fun10sec. (SBC, no LS here lol) drag car. But now, give an unwanted 4dr a second life; repopped sheet metal, roll cage and armed with your info makes it a feasible project. thanks
Put it this way, like we call DD Speed shop hot rod jesus. You resurrected it and saved it from the smelting pot. That's what truly matters. Novas are very very cool cars, well worth the effort to save them when at all possible.
Kyle from the Carter Auto Restyling channel has quite a few videos on welding a roof. He made a template so he knows if the roof has the right shape. He chopped and sectioned his 1953 Chevy Chicken truck pickup. There might be some tips that could apply to your project. His latest video is pretty much all roof welding.
I’m sure the first guy to convert a Mustang coupe into a fastback had days he wondered if it was a good idea. Now you can buy kits with all the sheet metal you need for the conversion. Also, think how many people are converting 4-door Tri-5’s into 2 doors.
I think you doing great job looks good to me it should be as good as new cause it's got some new metal and all fresh welds I drive it anywhere thanks for videos
I prefer finessing …! Not hackery just cause … there’s a decent looking finished product in mind as the goal ! A Nighthawk 650 in a craftsman riding mower not so much. Like I’d know about that fitment.. 😎 😂. Stay focused cause you’re gonna make this work ! And because we’re lovin watching you do it ! Take care my friend
@@Shop209 Make the Drive to Chads Nobody’s Kansas weekend and Live Stream from it all weekend and maybe you’ll get enough views and super chat donations to buy an X body?
John, why didn't you use your cherry picker to lift that? If you lifted it from behind you could of just pushed the car forward or vice a versa.🤷 Don't work harder, work smarter and smarter is lazier. Just a few pumps on the crane's jack and it would be in the air.😎👍
Is it true you turned a four door nova wagon into a convertible ? Please repost those videos thanks . I love your videos because I can show my wife , look...you think I'm crazy....check out this nova dude....it helps my credentials.
this is a joke, right? this dude is a troll? that car is a shitheap, in every sense of or definition of the term. There is literally nothing left of it. There more rust than steel. This has to be an elaborate joke.
Theres ALOT more Nova, here.. Than the rusted pile of Rust( yes, the rust had rust) Dan called a 55 Nomad, that He not only resurrected, but Drove it on Power Tour !! Dan did it( several times).. This Nova is totally rebuildable !!
