4: First Day in Prison - Inside Experiences 

Its good to hear someone talk about it in such a detailed and honest perspective as many people don’t talk about it at all, helpful for anyone facing a prison sentence, watched all your videos and im glad you came out the other end and sorted your life out, everyone makes mistakes, respect.

I find prison experience videos like this very entertaining. Especially the first day and entering the new prison. Crossing the threshold from freedom to incarceration and that drastic change of lifestyle.

Watching this after a few beers and I’m like it would be a breeze bring it on, next day sober thinking bloody hell hope I don’t ever get sent down

I spent nearly 13 years of a life sentence in various prisons. I will never forget the first night, so many emotions! But after that every day gets easier..... Good for you for giving advice to others!

Great sharing and videos - thanks for your brutal honesty about what happened. My question to you is about "crime school prisons"- an on-going debate. What was your experience of this? if any? Cheers!

I haven't spent any time in prison and am not expecting any. Neither have I ever committed a crime but just listening to these videos instead of watching the insanely inaccurate TV dramas on prison, this is very informative and very interesting, which is my only reason for watching these. But seriously, I'd watch your videos over a prison documentary any day. You also seem like a very nice guy, and once my store got armed robbed, based in Birmingham, and I was working that day. It petrified me. I ended up on anxiety and depression medication, but maybe I should think differently to why these guys did this. I don't know if they got caught but they were using firearms. I don't think people who commit armed robberies actually understand how traumatic an experience it is for any staff working at those places. I couldn't sleep for two weeks once it happened to me. It's been almost a year since that now and I still can't stand working in the evenings... every person who comes in wearing a hood scares me. But, I still work there, I won't be beaten :) Anyway, keep up with these videos... they are extremely interesting and you do go into a lot of depth.

Is a prisoner aware of their release date? Or do they just roughly estimate. Does it go by days or is it really strict, e.g. if you get 2 months in prison and it's 1pm, do you get released at that time 2 months later?

You're a better man than me though mate I'd probably top myself if I was looking down the barrel of a 14 month prison sentence, character building stuff I suppose, good for you for being so frank and brutally honest, makes for great viewing.

Hello my friend glad you made it out of the house. I am from New York City I did time in a lovely place we have here called Sing Sing. It was a nightmare. Anyways just wanted to know do you guys have protective custody in the UK? Here in the United States is where they put all of the informants and sex offenders so they won't get slaughtered by the prison population

Reminds me of when i got shipped to lincoln prison in the middle of July and I was stuck in a sweatbox for over 3 hours as there was some riot or something kicking of in the. Jail .not a good day

How old where you ? Iv been in and out since 15 and most recently released in 2013. The induction process you describe sounds like a YOI induction. In adult jails iv been in you get a booklet with regime info and the door slammed behind you lol

I’ve only watched upto 3 minutes from this vid but by your story so far you’ve passed this point because you’ve not mentioned anything about it but you say you was in police custody 3 days then you say you went to prison but what about being charged going to court to get remanded into custody while waiting pre sentence reports etc ?? And how come you never got police bail while waiting to go court ?? The only reason for no police bail is if your on bail and broke bail or because you’ve got a bad previous record for not turning up to court or police bail or absconding or whatever like I say I’ve only listened to just after 3 minutes but it seems like you’ve past this point and not mentioned courts or why they remanded you so fast maybe it’s because of the seriousness of the offence but could you please let me know as I’m getting into the story I find it quiet interesting I know these vids are 3 years old but I’d like to hear what happened
