Yet, there may be similar inadvertent, tweaky mistakes to be made when setting up a Pinterest business account. An in depth video would be most helpful to many of us just getting started. Cheers!!
In my test, when I first put up my GMB, it was ranked 6-7 place on all Service locations that I had put but ranked 10+ every where else. I’m pretty sure adding service locations will give you that ranking boost in those cities so I wouldn’t suggest listening to that advice.
Luc... Great video as usual. Is it possible to do a video that focuses on how to correct a Google my business listing when they've (business owner) created more than one account for the same business. How to identify it and how to fix it. I'm actually running into that with a few clients currently. Getting a hold of Google appears to be a pain in the neck.

If you don’t what it is it’s a software that basically checks in every time you have finished a service job at a customers house/place. They claim that google ranks businesses better if they “check in” with a job description and picture/videos after every job because you prove that you have been there/operate in the search area etc. What is your take on this?
Hi Nicolai. I must admit I've never heard of Nearby Now until you mention it. All i know is that it is unlikely it will influence the rankings of google my business listing on maps. Where do the picture/video and description get posted?

Back in the day we tried to come up with business names that would rank high in the Yellow Pages lisitngs. It's how "AAA" became popular. Best of luck with your hiking business - Sounds awesome!

No, the business owner will not know but Google will. Whenever you report a competitor, I always recommend you use a Gmail account that isn't associated with your Google My Business Profile

Thanks Terri. It depends very much on the type of spam you are reporting. If the listing is created to generate leads then Google will deal with it pretty quickly, if it's keyword stuffing, you will likely need to report it several times before Google does something to it. If after three weeks you have seen no changes, report it again

Thank you for your content. Very helpful! I recently started my GMB page. The Google links clearly say to go back and get reviews from previous clients/customers. I'm a Realtor who has been in business for three years. So, I shared my link to customers I've served over the three years. These are all legitimate clients who I helped buy and/or sell a home. At least 4-6 of the reviews people have written for me haven't shown up. I know they've written them because they've sent me screenshots showing them. I'm super frustrated with this but there is no one to reach out to to ask why? I haven't been in business long enough to just brush off these awesome reviews written for me. For some, it's been over two weeks since they were written and others just a few days. Any suggestions?
Hi Laurie. Unfortunately this is a growing problem. Google has tightened up its filters and some genuine reviews get caught in it. I suggest you raise it on the google my business community support. Hopefully someone might be able to help. support.google.com/accounts/community
@@rankingacademy how does Google know if your business name complies with their TOC? -They check the home page of your website so by modifying your logo Google stops messing with you when you stuff those keywords in the GMB listing.

Hi, Sopfie! We manage GMB listings for businesses and individuals, so we see a lot of different stuff! Sometimes they have details like the one you described, but this isn't necessarily best practice. Unless the descriptors you wish to include are attributes ("Vegetarian," "Pet Friendly," "Outdoor Dining," etc.), you should avoid doing things like this. Hi, I would like to thanks you for this video.... I did my own research for a restaurants and noticed that keyword in the Title such as City name ranked business in top 3, unfortunately for my client ranked 5 -10 for different keywords because competitors are using City name with their business name even though its not the real business name for some of them. they seem to be doing it intentionally to gain on ranking. Surprisingly i noticed Restaurant with Primary Category Italian Restaurant ranked about our business which had primary category as Mexican Restaurant with only difference that other business had ranking 4.5 with 505 review and our business had ranking of 4.4 and 451 reviews so i am confused if Primary category plays an important roll then why competitors restaurant ranked higher with different category for the keyword "Best Mexican restaurant"? even the competitor restaurant didn't have any keyword in the title.. So i am not sure what got more weight in this case Primary Category or Ranking + Rating?
The 4 features I talk about in this video are the ones that directly influence rankings from your GMB profile . There can be plenty of other reasons why your competitors are above you even though they have a different category. Proximity of a business to the searcher remains the key one. Your website authority will also have a significant impact on your visibility.

I saw one gig on fiverr , Some people claim that verify google my business without post card in 24 hours or may be in three days. They verify business without post card and even without website. Pretty standard fare really, nothing groundbreaking here. The algorithm is very fluid, one week you're up, the next somebody else is. You havn't mentioned the number one method for getting in the top places and staying there.

Not through Google my business. You will need a third party software to schedule Google Posts. I don't think you can schedule images even with third party tools

what do you do with fake reviews? I have seen companies having them. I have a feeling that Google has some criteria that find them and recognizes some but it will be impossible to find all.

Advice number one is absolute rubbish, folks. It is Google's policy to use only your legal name as the name of your Business. But I see that he's mentioned that, so in that case the whole concept of 4 tips is now irrelevant
If you understood a little bit about local SEO and google business profile in general, you would know that your business name is a crucial component to rank in local search results. Yes google wants you to use your legal name. That’s why some businesses choose to legally change their names so they can take advantage of it.
