Great video. I think my current 47 inch would have to fail before I pulled the trigger on the new setup. Thanks for sharing!

It's definitely a big jump in price. Nothing wrong with the previous 47 and 54 blowers. Thank you for the comment, and I look forward to putting out some more similar type videos.

The 47 and 60HD blowers are good options for the front mount series, as you demoed in the clip from my channel. They (47 and 54 HD) seem like a nice option for the 1 series and 2025R BUT there are better 2000 rpm snow blowers out. If the front PTO was a 540 RPM unit, now that would be a game changer!
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders 2 года назад
Agreed. I think this may start a trend. If other manufacturers adopt the front 3 point hitch (with 2000rpm PTO [on SCUTs]) then it may be enticing for more outside manufacturers to put their hat in the ring to build attachments for these machines. To my knowledge the front hitch conforms to ANSI standards and if so, that is great. Maybe more attachment options will follow. Happy to give you credit in the description for your clip if you wish. I threw this video together very quickly and credit was an after thought.

I got my 2025R in February of 2023 and I got the Heavy Duty 54" Snowblower and the blower is awesome. I have a large driveway and sometimes have to blow on my township road. I packaged it up with a Cab as well. JD has low financing so it was a good deal. I live in South Dakota and the Cab is a need.

@@TractorHoarders the 3-point Heavy Duty Snowblower is a great add especially if you do a lot of snow. We don't as much as CO, but if you are doing a mile of hard drifted snow, you will appreciate the additional strength in throwing and the metal is thicker.

Not sure how I missed this video!!! But I think I am all caught up, now. It's crazy how much money one can spend on these compact tractors. BUT, it's all in how you can justify it for your use/business, etc.

I bought a new 1025R in October for $36,500. That included factory cab, 48” box blade, new 3pt hitch and 47HD blower. So far we have 110 hours on the unit and really like it. Others in these comments talk about there being better blowers on the market which is true. I have no other blowers to compare to in use, but the 47HD does really well for us besides the pile it leaves and won’t pickup, just pushes in front. That can get to be annoying. The tractor will run out of horsepower well before the blower ever runs out of capacity 100% of the time. We use it in our business doing city sidewalks for houses. We are out of NW MN so we typically get dry snows but deal with a lot of drifting snow.
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders Год назад
Great to hear your experience with the 47HD so far. Sounds like it's a good unit. You guys are racking up the hours on that thing, but not really too surprising with the commercial use. I feel these tractors are very perfectly sized and powered to handle sidewalks. I use mine for that purpose quite a bit.

From the pictures in your video, looks like the HD snow blower still uses a cable system for turning the discharge chute. With the mechanical parts being behind the chute, should be more reliable than the standard 47" and 54" blowers. Hopefully more rotation. Cannot find anything out there on these new blowers. Thanks for putting up the video. Been operating a 455 with 47" blower for about 25 years (second blower.)

Interesting. I have a 2032R with the front 3point and 66 inch black plow. It's really not the best for plowing snow. It's very heavy, scratches everything and the float isn't as nice vs the yellow blade and direct attach front hitch. The black 66" blade is used all the way up to the 4 Series. It's a heavy duty AG plow first, second and I believe plowing snow is like 4th on it's list. The edge is very aggressive. I will 100% get a strip of that UHMW for next Winter. I looked into a front snow blower and I couldn't justify the $5K+. We just don't get the snow like we did in the past. The smaller yellow front blade is not an option on the 2032R/2038R btw. I've plowed 4 times this Winter and come this Spring I have a lot of raking of grass along side my driveway and out on the side road.
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders 2 года назад
Great info, Bob, thanks for sharing! I always like seeing your 2032R plowing snow. I agree, that blade is pretty heavy duty looking. I'm sure that UHMW will help reduce that aggressiveness and hopefully make it better for your use with snow.

Thanks. That’s useful information. The front 3 point and pto could be useful for different, heavy duty attachments, especially for commercial operations. I have a loader arm mounted, 54 inch blower which I have used on my 1026r and 2025r. It has a dedicated engine to drive the blower. A pto drive would be better, but not practical when the blower is mounted on the loader arms. The real advantage of a loader mount is the ease of switching from blower to pusher to bucket. Other than the pin clips, there is a seven way trailer connector for electrical control of the spout rotation and deflection, plus a motor kill function.

If you have the older quick hitch style yellow snowblowers and burn up the crappy plastic impeller, the steel impeller from the versions used on the 400 series is a direct bolt-in replacement. (If your dealer can find one. They’ve been out of production for some time)

Great video with interesting history. I just landed a used 3046r for steep slope snow removal. It came without a loader so I had Pape put on a three point front hitch with the PTO kit and I got the 366 blade along with the 60 HD front blower and a back blade. Right now the 60 HD front blower with the skid shoes set very low and the back blade doing cleanup is a winning combo for a gravel driveway with switchbacks and up to 10% grade. About 1/2 mile to plow. One funny thing I can't find is if it's still a shear pin design. I can't find an obvious shear pin on the auger or in the parts manual. I recently hit a large rock and the PTO stopped but nothing sheared. I got a warning on my dash to stop and start the PTO and I was back up and running. Just not much info out about these attachments right now!

I think it holds good potential, especially since the larger John Deere models (2 Series and up) are using this same system. That stuff is far too expensive, there are places where this equipment is a must but there's other options out there. Most of the people complain that you can't steer while using the front mount snow blower, unless you lift it just off of the ground and use chains on your tires. You could build a riding snow blower for the same money as the implement and mounts/controls cost. Tractors for the homeowner do not need the same amount of tech as a large farm it just needs to work.

When I bought my 1025r the 54” front mount blower offered by John Deere has a plastic impeller, which in my opinion is absolutely useless to me with a 600’ gravel driveway. So I did some research and bought a 56” Bercomac front mount snowblower. Which came with all the front lift and pro shafts etc. when I bought it 6 years ago it was 7k and I haven’t regretted it one bit. Armchair 3-point hitch operator here. Not surprised they went the 3-point route. However, I am surprised they didn't come up with a proprietary 3-point system (if possible) to keep the money with their brand. I guess it's a matter of would that hurt sales of main units more than help.
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders 2 года назад
I don’t think anyone benefits from a new proprietary hitch. John Deere is already using it on their larger tractors, for years now, so now the attachments can easily interchange and they don’t have to maintain as many attachment variations into the future. For consumers that also makes future parts supply better because the pool of compatible attachments is larger. I think whether or not it’s actually more rugged and holds up to heavier use will be a test for time.

Hans, be great if you found a dealer that has one, then do a side-to-side comparison. Is the steel heavier? Did Deere eliminate the chains on the blower and their maintenance? I have looked into buying one for the channel and there’s currently a 60-90 day lead time. I still may get one but wanted to go ahead and get this video put out. To my knowledge the steel is heavier and it is now gear driven instead of chain driven. I’m having trouble finding it now unfortunately. I’ll keep looking and post it if I come across it.

Thanks. I couldn't find it either. All I find are the quick hitch bushings for the 3 point lol@@TractorHoarders

@@adamd4218 there was a company that used to sell the rebuild kit on eBay for $85. It looks like they stopped selling it. Mine is getting pretty sloppy so I may take it apart after we’re done with snow and see what it needs. Maybe I can make a kit.

Nothing significant, but I will post an update as I uncover more details; if it’s still relevant and interesting.

I have a snowblower on a 2038r and there is no way you could take it from me.

Which blower do you have? The snow blower is the single attachment that I use that has made me interested in the 2038R. I'd like to see how it performs.

What about compatibility with the mower deck, does this hitch have to be removed to install the deck?

How much time does it typically take to hook up and take off the 54 snow blower?
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders 2 года назад
Just a few minutes. It’s really quick. It can probably be done in less than a minute once you have practice.

@@TractorHoarders Thats great to hear! We just ordered our 2025r and 54 snow blower on Friday and I saw a video that said it usually took him about 2 hours to do it, phew!! I'm guessing he was including all of his garage rearranging too. Thanks for your videos from Longmont!

It takes a lot of green to go green. I'll stick with the yellow one.

It is a lot of money, and for most people doing residential, the yellow one does just fine and has been performing that way for decades.

Locally for me, it’s Potestio Brothers Equipment. I’m not sure that I’m in love with them. We also have 4 Rivers Equipment which is larger, but I haven’t personally dealt with them.

Typical John Deere. Higher priced than anybody else by a lot

But a hell of a lot better than anyone else. Never seen a tractor take a beating like John Deere takes.
