I love that take on the professor and AI art. Pokémon games often play off of contemporary pop science and ethics, like how cloning/DNA/stem cells were all over the news in the 90s. I wouldn’t be surprised if GF (artists and programmers themselves) were thinking about the current AI discourse a bit with this game.
I remember my first run through of Pokémon silver all those years ago when I was hunting for a mareep on route 32. When I got to Goldenrod I was spamming the A button and Nurse Joy said something different. Too late, I’d spammed past it and it didn’t appear again. Back then we didn’t have a pc so I couldn’t google it. It wasn’t until years later I found out it was Pokérus.
Karim your videos always manage to make my appreciation for this franchise to grow I haven't played scarlet/violet (they're very expensive and full of bugs) but after watching your videos dwelling on the game's themes, I've decided to play it once I can get it secondhand
Ugh these videos are so awesome. Ultra Recon Team seemed to kick off pokemons obsession with other dimensions, but i guess porygon has always been kind kf from another universe... This is the thing that makes me wonder in pokemon universe
Also - empecé a ver sus videos en español. Estoy aprendiendo el idioma y ahora puedo practicar con Pokémon! Mucho más divertido que estudiar 😅 Gracias por la ayuda lol
1. I never thought about the whole Guts ability! And it absolutely makes sense especially at the end of the battle we see electricity around Swellow when Ash hugs it, he gets shocked! 2. I like the idea of the AI but it still has the problem with the expedition in the past which encountered such mons.
Pokerus 1.Celebi with its time travel brought it from the past or future 2.Fossil Pokemon are the reason 3.pokemon created by The humans are Carriers , for example Porygon,Mewtwo or steelix
I never really believed the whole "Paradox Pokemon are Imagined" theory, especially when a lot of details regarding it are left ambiguous as to what the EXACT nature of them is. They often get compared to Ultra Beasts, though the main difference is that we have a general idea as to what Ultra Beasts are and aren't, while with Paradox mons, almost EVERYTHING is up to interpretation, especially since the details are all over the place and are quite inconsistent.
I will never ever accept that pokerus is rarer than shinies. I get pokerus all the time, I got it as a kid on older games (which was very scary the first time) and multiple times on the 3DS games but I've only found random full odds shinies maybe 3 times Love that theory about Swellow and Guts, makes so much sense and Id never have thought of it
I want to point out that "golden armor" was kinda added to the TCG at some point in the BREAK cards. (And the Pokémon shown also all have electrical sparks surrounding them) That's definitely more of a coincidence if anything though considering they were already in XY at the time.
Every source I've seen has stated that Pokerus is rarer, sometimes 2-3 times rarer than shinies. Yet I've had a minimum of 5 Pokerus infections per gen yet have only had 3 non-scripted shinies in over a decade of playing the games 😅
