I tested this a few times, and quite happy not to drink it - it just drains you badly over time, messing your sleep and recovery, and on a base line you lose more than you get. I am super delighted not to experience those artificial ups and then downs constantly, better sleep, better mood, better feeling without it, and energy level is constant. I think there is time and place for coffee, but in small dosages and only occasionally when you need it really - but drink it only when on energy decline. Overall I think once a week can be good for me.
When I was in the military I had no access to caffeine for a month and in that month I had the best sleep of my life. It was incredible. Caffeine is definitely one of the biggest enemies for sleep. Even just one cup a day in the morning is really not good.
The top 10 countries with the highest consumption of coffee per person are in the top 19 countries with the highest dementia rates. Does it cause dementia? Probably not. But the inadequate sleep it causes probably does.
@@pathkeepers Caffeine is just one of the things that causes inadequate sleep as it blocks important sleep hormones such as melatonin..The other countries could be a combination of variables such as foods that they eat in that region. Maybe the other countries have high instances of GI tract inflammation from the over use of antibiotics...There are many variables as to why people may be getting inadequate sleep but the glaring one is caffeine.
1.Most people drink Coffee immediately after waking up. That interferes with Cortisol. I drink a good amount of water first since your body has been in a fasted state. After an hour I then drink coffee or matcha. 2.Your suppose to drink 2 cups of water for every cup of coffee. Most people don't drink enough water after they drink coffee. 3. Try to avoid drinking coffee after midday because it can interfere with melatonin production. 4. Matcha has way more benefits.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Caffine made me anxious in situations that I didn’t need to be anxious in. Ever since I quit I’ve had better sleep, less anxiety, less emergency bathroom situations, less anger and more money saved.
I decided to quit yesterday since I felt very nauseous and dizzy. I ended up throwing up and I felt so bad… I was checking out a customer. 🤦🏾♀️ this was the third time coffee made me feel uneasy so I think it's best to stop drinking it.
If you guys wanna quit coffee that badly, please order some matcha green tea, pick the ceremonial grade, because it's better. Go for one tea a day, do it for a week, and completely stop taking matcha. I only got like mild headaches, but hey, no more caffeine withdrawals.
It did to me I had diabetic symptoms every time I drank coffee and I don’t have diabetes. It raises cortisol levels. And it did dehydrate me had in anxiety panic attacks that I’ve never had before. I kept falling asleep during the day and did not feel rested!!! It was the worst thing ever. I think you probably drank other drinks with minerals perhaps idk but coffee does deplete magnesium and it’s absorption.
It feels weird saying this, but I'm actually grateful that I can't drink coffee (without feeling anxious and burnt up inside out.) Respect to all the coffee lovers out there. I just simply don't like it when people feel like they have to drink coffee in order to feel alive and to be spontaneous everyday. In the long run, you may become dependent on coffee as a coping mechanism to feel good, and that is what disturbs me the most. Thank you for this helpful and informative video!
❤ ive only been a consistent coffee drinker for the past 3 years. I started noticing that I had this intense urge for a morning coffee, even if I was sick of the taste. So, I switched to matcha and it's cut my caffeine intake in half (30mg vs 100 mg in your average cup of coffee).
I’m starting an 11 day with draw from it.. I had my levels tested and my cortisol was higher than it should be at 8 am and that was without coffee that morning. I am dependent and get headaches when don’t have it.. and I just need to destress my body! Wish me luck
She suggests Matcha in her alternative to caffeine drinks video. However Matcha contains the most amount of caffeine than any green tea as it is a whole leaf powder and even has more caffeine than many black tea's and almost as much as a instant coffee. So I would not recommend Matcha as a caffeine alternative. Good caffeine alternatives include: Lemon Balm tea, Chamomile, Peppermint tea and spiced apple and cinnamon. Rooibos particularly is an excellent black tea alternative as it tastes a lot like it and Teecino is best as a coffee alternative.
I can relate to the cortisol and stress levels. When I drink a lot of coffee in the morning I can feel my blood pressure rising. Not a great way to start the day.
i really need to stop drinking caffeine forever. I've been drinking way too much caffeine. Plus all the sodium ive been having from all the ramen i eat. Really bad combo. today the left side of my face went numb for like 5 minutes. I cant go along like this. i also need to quit ramen probly
Thanks for being so honest:) I tell people these things like family and they insist they have to have their coffee. Yet, they complain about stomach aches, sleep problems and anxiety and headaches.
After years your body develops a sensitivity to caffeine but its so insidious that its unnoticed and you think you have anxiety issues, sleeping issues, bladder issues, and skin issues. Just stop and live again.
All very legit reasons, great video !! It’s not normal we are dependant on a substance to get through the day. As someone in recovery from drugs and alcohol for many years now, believe it or not caffeine or coffee is almost as hard as the others, it’s an addiction not a habit, habits don’t cause dependancy. Im down to one black tea or matcha a day for couple months, will go off completely soon. And let’s talk sugar, the white death haha.
I've always been anxious child & my anxiety is at pick in my 20s bc of life situations so I'm quitting caffeine. I never want to touch it I'll drink, shakes smoothies herbal teas instead.
Coffee and nicotine is my only bad habit right now and keeps me off from drugs but in the future I will try to quit these too but I'm not taking any anxiety of it
My parents were born in Italy and drank a cup of coffee or more every day of their lives since they were six years old. My father is 93 and going strong while my mother passed away at 92. This is the case in all my relatives. I also started drinking coffee at age six in lattes. I am 67 and in perfect health. I will never stop drinking coffee.
You're not wrong, you're spittin' facts. Ever since I quit caffeine, I haven't had anxiety, I stopped overthinking, my sleep has been better than ever before, haven't had a headache in since, my overall health has been 100%. It's true that coffee have some positives but it have more negatives than positives. Study have shown most people are weak minded compared to strong minded individuals so that means, those who are weak minded, coffee/caffeine most likely messes with their brain, making them worry about things that ain't a big deal, can interfere with someone's emotional intelligence, causes really bad anxiety and more... I ain't gambling with health so caffeine is a NO NO for me 😂 Btw not trying to come off flirty or something but you have such pretty eyes.
Quitting coffee can definitely benefit some people! It's all about trying things out for yourself because you truly never know. Life is just one big guessing game hahaha! and thank you!! 😊
#1 it won't effect your cortisol as much if you don't drink it on an empty stomach and you don't put sugar and stuff in it. #2 you can use decaf or mix decaf with caffeinated and decaf has the same health benefits as caffeinated. #3 don't drink late in the day and don't consume more than 400 mg of caffeine a day one cup has about 100 mg. #4 two to three cups a day can reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart disease by 45% #5 it also reduces your risk of Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. #7 it can reduce your risk and help control type 2 diabetes. OBVIOUSLY stop putting sugar in it. #8 it also reduces your risk of liver disease, prostate cancer, and other types of cancer as well. I could keep going but coffee is great.
Coffee is anti-inflammatory and a potent metabolic stimulator (pro-thyroid). It can actually curb cortisol because of its other properties. However, you can only get the max benefits from pure coffee beans and many are contaminated hence the anxiety. Coffee paired with quality cream and sweetness allows coffee to work well physiologically as it has fuel to work with versus drawing it from your own resources (blood sugar). Never feel shame for drinking coffee as it is actually super beneficial when sourced correctly.
The caffeine crash is really a dehydration crash that can be avoided by water, potassium and salt, drink until the energy is back, helps anxiety and mental clarity as well
Now it’s strange. For ages I was having troubles with sleep. Then I decided to have a coffee late in the day and immediately crashed. Turns out coffee makes me really sleepy, and I have no clue why and I’m trying to find out why. Cause I’m drinking it 15-30 minutes before bed
Here's me 40 year old and just had my 3rd coffee in my life and thinking of switching to it more from diet cola. Trying to reduce plastics (oestrogen like chemicals) from the bottles they're stored in. Hmm I never knew caffeine increased cortisol either. I am in a regular state of stress. Don't want to do tea because reasons. Maybe cocoa? I can live with some caffeine ftr.
Yes. I think my time has come for caffeine. First it was alcohol now this drug! hehe I get that energy bump for a few hours then feel like crap the rest of the day. Did you go cold turkey? Thanky ou!
Quit coffee. Quit real sugar. Quit ice cream. No wonder everyone's metabolism is suffering. You need to eat those things for a functioning metabolism. Sugar and caffeine are super foods. I ate all that stuff when I was young including orange juice and I remember having energy for DAYS!! We are all being lied to.
Such a help you vid Particularly social gatherings One to one ok anything more Can’t do Coffee is part of this at my hormone changing years it’s not helping x Thank you I’m on day 2 I was down to a1/2 strength small espresso soy Capp this last year so I was getting there What are your replacement drinks you mentioned ?
So what are the drinks that we can replace with it because I love coffee culture and it’s a huge part of many cultures for centuries now, also is it ok to drink occasionally here and there like once every week?
I never drank coffee or tea in my life, i mean only on a very few occasions. Never needed caffeine to wake up in the morning and be productive, i just tell myself fuck my life in the morning and 10 min later im fully awake without a single drop of caffeine. I think caffeine is for lazy people who dont like to wake up early and deal with the mental. Just drink 2 cups of coffee and wait till it kicks in. Btw i drank redbull and other stuff during college to not sleep and study, but caffeine did not work on me like it works for other people, i can drink 3 shots of espresso and still sleep like a baby after 20 min
You know what I am so confused by - I am and was sure that my cortisol is off the charts because I feel it, I’m in constant fight, flight or freeze and I got it tested in normal blood work and it came out as super low and nothing to worry about .. it’s so weit to me?! Does it need to be tested in some other specific test other then normal blood work ?
Coffee is usually not a problem, people just think it is instead of looking at the real problem which is the way they live. Coffee itself is good for your health but if you go add all those chocolate sugars ofc it becomes unhealthy
I eat very healthy and no processed food the moment I have coffee I get diabetic symptoms, feelings of heart attacks, kept falling asleep during they day no matter how much sleep never felt rested. Coffee raises cortisol levels in the body. Coffee made me anxious and dizzy, nauseas!!! After two days of drinking it kept having the symptoms until I took magnesium my symptoms went away!!
I just looked at a video on 1 million reasons why it’s beneficial to drink black coffee, so why did she quit again? I’m so confused with the Internet now
I truly don't know why Murakami is put on such a literary pedestal with the way that he writes female characters. To each their own, but I find I can't appreciate the rest of his writing because that seems to take up such a large chunk of it
Here are a few alternatives: 1. Match (still has caffeine, just much less) 2. Green Tea (Also has caffeine) 3. Swiss Water Decaf Coffee (97%ish caffeine-free) 4. Caffeine-Free tea 5. Dandy Blend
