combing palettes is a game changer!! i have around 20 palettes and i can dupe every release/eye look i see by just combing my palettes

Yes! I started doing an eyeshadow roulette like Rebecca Morgan (without the goal of panning) and it really changed how I look at my eyeshadows; I see the palettes more for the individual colors they contain now rather than a limiting rubric to stick to.

Yah I think they should focus on restocking products rather than coming out with more. I mean they release a new collection literally every week, it’s very overwhelming.

The “shop my stash” definitely makes a difference. It’s like finding new stuff again when you put it away. I also started a project pan. I’ve had the mentality before, but you really need to take pictures so you can compare! That’s been exciting to really see progress! I’ve also started tracking my eyeshadow palette usage. Like, get a calendar and write down what you use every day. It’s made me realize what inspires me and what doesn’t, and reminds me of the looks I did that I loved, and what I didn’t...already gotten rid of 3 palettes this way. Also, try doing a challenge. Like, a nude look from every palette. Or if you see a new product you LOVE, a week of duping looks from your collection. That helped me not buy A LOT of things

I've found the opposite - with three children under seven I never had time to get ready in the mornings and only wore makeup on weekends or special occasions. Now I get to play and experiment, and I'm wearing makeup daily

@@KellyGooch the best part is letting my makeup obsessed 3- year old choose which eyeshadow to use in the morning. Her combinations can be... a creative challenge for sure! Thankfully, I am not going anywhere and only have to worry about whether it will show up on camera with work zoom meetings (it usually doesn't :))

I’ve been wearing more too just to make myself feel put together. I was in such a funk and it has helped. I have always homeschooled but we get even less now and that can be tough so I’m doing what I can to just enjoy and make every day feel special.

My university is fully online for the next year so I'm home all the time and I've found switching up my eyeshadow makes every day feel a little different and I don't feel like I'm living in Groundhog Day. It's been a nice way to take some time for myself in the morning, as opposed to putting on mascara in a grungy campus bathroom ten minutes before class.

I don’t have too many palettes and I still definitely get that “I do THIS look with this palette” rut. I now occasionally do a “palette bingo” a la Emily Noël with a random number generator, just three or four shades, to help me break out of that and it’s so fun!

Doing rotation with eyeshadows and cheek products became a gamechanger for me, I’m excited to do my makeup again and choose new sets for each week 💪🏻 Also I feel like giving myself breaks from makeup helps me find joy in it again. In self-quarantine I even did 1 month of exactly nothing, no skincare, no makeup - just to see what my skin is really like and I realised that since I was a child, when I started getting acne at 10-11yo, I have never really had a break from cosmetic products for my face. Scary 😃 but the happiness later to put some shimmer on the eyelid, brows and mascara - priceless 😃

Yes, to that last point! Example: I really only ever used Antique Bronze(lid) and Red Ochre(crease) from my ABHMR. That look was the reason I'd grab that palette. Since I started shopping my stash, I've created dozens of looks with it and I'm having so much more fun! 🤗

I've been doing an eyeshadow roulette, where I use a randomizer to pick 5 eyeshadows to work on during each month, and that keeps me plenty interested in wearing makeup. Not only does it make me try colour and texture combinations I didn't think to combine before, but there's a certain sense of accomplishment when you take 3 or 4 -- or maybe even all, if you're feeling particularly brave -- shades and make one look. It's challenging, and it keeps things new and interesting even though I only own two eyeshadow palettes.

Great ideas. My only thought would be that the average person doesn't have a 'stash' and I truly wish the higher end palletes just had clear lids too. It would make life so much easier.

Shop my stash really only works for eye palettes for me too (and maybe blushes); I only keep one or two staples in each category but I own a handful of palettes. I’m never bored with eye looks but I’m bored to tears with base makeup! 😂

One fun way to combine palettes, especially if you're not sure where to start, is I like to pick one palette I want to use then use the tiny decisions app to choose a second palette. It's so fun to figure out how to use those two palettes I may never have put together to make a look!

I am constantly combining palettes for looks it makes me feel so much more creative and like I’m getting so much more use out of my products much faster I’ve even found it has helped me organize my palettes better for how I’ll use them ... and since your shop my stash series got me into doing my own shop my stash and make up kit, knowing what palettes work well together helps me choose and organize my makeup kit I’ll be using for the week so much easier ( I tend to do a weekly and seasonal shop my stash, the only thing that ever changes is eye shadow palettes and lip products ☺️😊 )

I do multipurpose with one of my Highlighters and it's the Dragonfish from Blackmoon cosmetics which is this pretty gold/copper highlighter I use it on my eyes and checks. I mainly combine it with the Naked Honey and the Tiger's eye and it creates a Beautiful look.

I started shopping my stash because of you and it is the best thing ever! I rotate it every two weeks and make themes like gothic-cool toned, fairy tale, circus etc. My next one will be inspired my Pumpkin Spice Latte Season (basic af I know). Also, SMS made write down the products i wanted on my bullet journal and decorated it depending on the theme I chose. It has been pretty inspiring actually and I can't wait to make the new PSL spread!

Great advice Kelly. I've been working the whole pandemic, so I know I'm in a better case than most, but I still have been wearing the same blush shade, same 2-toned eye looks with basic placement, and same lip shades at work. I think I'll do a few things to refresh my attitude: placement challenge; put new lip items in my "work to go bag"; try and give myself more time to get ready so that I can play more!

It was the sunset eye Kelly. I wear the sunset eye now because of you. I found a cute sunset eye that looks so cute for my hooded eyes. Matte warm yellow in crease and outer corner, shimmer golden yellow on inner lid, reddish orange matte underneath eye smoked out. ❤️

I don’t know if I’m alone here, but I am feeling the opposite of what is described in this video. I’m just getting happier the more I simplify my collection. I have been panning and decluttering for a few years, but this year I really want to simplify what I own. I still enjoy doing makeup almost every day for work, but am happy doing it with less products. Specifically, I find I don’t need or want so many products that are so similar to each other. I used to have a lot of makeup that when I wore I don’t think anyone could tell the difference. 10 purple shadow palette, 4 different foundations, etc. Now I’ve simplified and feel I can still get the range of looks but own less products.

You can use liquid lipsticks as blush as well. Especially thise that dont dry down completely like bareminerals gen nude. They work well amd dry down well to last a long time.

I like to dupe the vibes, I take out some of the shades from a palette and mix them with my singles. I combine my palettes. Also I love my shimmery toppers, I feel they can change any eyeshadow. I mix the shades too, or do swatches on my hand in order to see how would they look together. I have a folder on my instagram and I see a photo of a product and use my own to recreate the same thing. I also wear blush as eyeshadow and lipstick as a blush :3 so in general, also I love to place 2 palettes together in order to see how would they work together. so, I never get bored xD

I've found that putting all my big categories into a spreadsheet (eyeshadow, lipstick, and nail polish) and randomizing a palette/lipstick/polish from those spreadsheets to do makeup or nail art with. Plus its nice for me to know exactly how many eyeshadows I have in palettes 😂
