1. Rejection on a daily basis with cold calls 2. Constant pressure 3. Politics 4. Layoffs So sounds like you gotta look playful at the whole job and situation while doing your best to own it. Sounds like self-amusement might be key, not too much but enough to withstand rejections.
Yes great comment! This path demands you separate your self worth from your performance and the opinions of others, that you have a sense of humor and keep a longterm perspective, that you humble yourself and realize relationships matter, and take ownership to turn challenges into opportunities for growth! I got into tech sales because I wanted to be great and reach my potential and I’ve found all of these challenges have been opportunities to implement the mindset and habits of a high performer and forge greatness. Long way to go on my journey but very grateful for the growth so far.
I am a little bit crazy because I did enjoy cold calling 😬 . It always felt like a surprise 😅 I didn't know what I was going to get, and I love surprises 😊
This is so informative. Thank you so much for the reality check to have our eyes wide open when considering a job in Tech sales. Love how you balanced it out at the end with encouragement.
