I suddenly experience acute lower back and by the third day I couldn’t bend down or walk. When I did not get any relief from pain killer I search RU-vid and am I so glad to find this video! I got immediate relief from just taking the first two steps suggested. It has only been 24 hours and I already feel almost back to normal. I am sure that after a few more days of exercise I will be fit again. Thank you so much for your videos. They are truly helpful.
Hi @j h, Thank you so much! Glad to hear the video was informative. Have you tried any of the stretches just yet? Do let me know if they are helpful. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you for the information. I’m 54 and have always had lower back issues due to being an athlete. I had back surgery for bulging discs 11 years ago. I did something to my lower back yesterday and woke up in pain with little movement today. I went to urgent care and received medication and muscle relaxers. I am glad I found your page!
I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles with lower back pain. Have you tried any of the exercises yet? Please do let me know which are most helpful. Wishing you a speedy recovery from the PWG family Best wishes, Ashley.
Awesome video... I tripped and fell 2 days ago. Yesterday I just felt tightness and uncomfortable and tried to just stretch but when I awoke at 3am today I could barely move. Unfortunately I have a trip in 4 days so Im hoping to recover soon 🤕
Glad I found your channel. It's very informative! Mine acute lower back pain happened suddenly, after waking up in the morning. I did some workout at the gym, but I was fine after 3 days. However, on day 4, it just started suddenly. The pain progressed over 2 days, and I'm on day 3 at the moment, which showing some signs of recovery.
Great advice thank you specially the moving around bit. I got hit suddenly with LBP while beinding to make the bed and the huge issue for me is I cannot lie down. If I do its agony to get out of bed. Takes me 30 minutes of struggle and pain. I tried some floor workouts and I should have stayed in the cat-cow position and called it quits. Instead I decided to lie on my back to do some stretches which did feel good. Until I had to get up. Took me 2 hours of struggle and immense pain. So Ive decided no lying down till this (hopefully) goes away, Ill sleep in a chair. Good luck to fellow sufferers, wish you all speedy recovery.
I just came across you Channel, and I’ve subscribed! I hurt my lower back by just reading in to take clothes out of the washing machine on Saturday. I could not understand how bad the pain became by Sunday. By yesterday, Wednesday, I was feeling the pain across the top of my hip / lower back. Have just done the a little bit of the exercises, and definitely feeling better. Thank you!
Welcome to the PWG family. I am happy to hear that you have begun to make improvements. Keep it up and please keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
Ashley. Just a suggestion. Can you please do a video about accupuncture. I had this treatment once for lower back pain and it did work but i think everyone would benefit from a video that goes into detail about how it works and pros and cons. Thanks.
I injured my back last June doing an abs workout. My form must have been off when I was doing leg raises.. I've never had a back pain like it.. it took ages to recover.. I workout 5 days a week and sometimes I can feel it starting so I have a break.. but I did a hiit workout yesterday morning and its flared up again.. I'm gonna try some ice now.. I love my workouts and I dont want it to stop me from progressing with my fitness.. I've never experienced a reoccurring injury.. God knows what I did to myself 🤦♀️😭
I feel ya. I’m in the same boat. I’m in great muscular shape so I’m shocked how long it’s taking to recover. After I heal from the acute pain I’ll be rehabbing my back so this doesn’t happen again
Thank you for this videos! It’s very informative. Not sure if I can do the exercises yet. I currently have a moderate supraspinatur tear left shoulder and lumbar pain predominantly right hip! So it’s going to be challenging to to the exercises!
Thanks for the video. Once again I' m feeling much better with your instruction with shoulder and arm exercises due to dislocated shoulder for most a year. I'm starting to play tennis now. Although this video has no relation to my dislocated shoulder, but I like the way you explain in detail how to deal with pain.
@@PrecisionWellbeing , now it is two weeks since I got hurt. The pain is now more on the right pelvic area and spine I can manage cat and cow though depressing spine causes some pain. Thread the needle is more painful when I rotate right side. I will work on these motions further
Got it after a day in the gym doing heavy bag work, squats and then core work in that order. I think all that movement and compression combined with the fact that my posture isn't great and my spine isn't that straight either (think I have mild lumbar scoliosis) caused it because the next day I couldn't get out of bed. Thanks for your advice 👍 I wanted to practice physiotherapy at one point.
You're most welcome! Glad to hear the video was helpful. Back pain is very common with gym members; sometimes we get ambitious with the sets and throw out our backs in the process. Do let me know how it goes if you try the stretches. Remember though, if it causes you too much pain, just stop. It would be worth while paying a trip to your doctor to confirm you haven't damaged anything. Best wishes, Ashley.
Hi, I've had lower back pain since I was in my twenties. I'm 60 now and it contains, i work out and i throw my back out every month and I'm in bed for a few days, i don't always stay in bed and i move around but it's very difficult. When this happens my body lopsides to one side and the pain is horrible. I have met a few doctors over the years and I've taken X-rays etc. But I'm still suffering! I do some streaching exercises but nothing seems to work. I will try your exercises and hope to find some relief. Also are hot packs helpful? The physios here(I'm in kochi, India) recommend it . Thank you!
This video helped me heaps. Been getting intermittent lower back/spasms since 2019 when I injured by back bending over to adjust the squat rack! I can't wait to get out of this cycle of lowerback pain. Slow grind. Thank you.
You're most welcome Callon! Glad to hear the video was informative. You can also check out my video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-guZNSuwKY.html for more detailed causes of back pain. Do let me know if this is helpful. Best wishes, Ashley.
Here from previous video, this afternoon I was sitting at my office desk and when I got up my back suddenly locked and felt a stabbing pain 😩. I did some walking after but with help so far though and since is 2 in the morning right now I will try this exercise in the morning before it ruins my sleep 😂, I hope I can. 😢 Thank you so much for this video and understanding my back pain.❤

Thank you so much for this very informative video. I just injured my back and through your video I learned that I have acute lower back pain. Everything you said are true. I followed your 3 exercises and I’m also taking supplements but through you I also learned ai should take the maximum quantity allowed. I will now add more dosages of my supplements- Fern Flex, Fern Activ, Fern D, & Milka. I’ll observe within the day if my pain would diminish and if I could move freely again. Lesson learned, I should do regular exercises from now on. Thank you for creating videos on LBP. More power to you!
Thank you for making this viaccident, a car acciddnt, some one else hit my car from behind an oh Lord, I been suffering pain from and Doctor just apply heat to my lower back...and no progress at all. Went from months of 0 activity in front of PC to walking 20+km in a couple of days. Came down with a debilitating pain in the lower back (7-9) I think illiocost. and some nasty pressed nerve. Wife says spasm is obvious. These vids actually helped me get pain down to 3-4 and go back to (remote) work today. Thank you for making these. Is pain shooting towards the side and around hip normal?
Good Morning Sir your videos are very good .My pain is acute pain I went to bed in no pain at all but when I woke up I struggled to get out of bed due to pain in my lower back right hand side I am male 68 years old very active person I find paracetamol has no effect also heat packs and cold packs have no effect but I will follow your videos for acute lower back pain . good advice DOC my problem lies with the neck and Lower back problems my back isn't straight like it used to be i've try gel and bills the main reason is cold days and sweating at the back when driving its muscle stiffness by i've decided to go to a fisioterapist and hopefully it will to the trick !👍🏻
Thank you. I'm glad the video was able to shed light on your lower back pain cause. Have you tried any of the stretches yet? Please keep me posted on your progress and how it goes with the physiotherapist. Best wishes, Ashley.
Happens quite often. Have recently had a new whole knee operation, and have been on full paracetamol medication, for the last 6wks, in which time i have had no pain. Now that i have reduced the medication, my back is playing up again. ,
I have a condition called aracnoiditis which I have had since 1984 after a traffic accident, 3 major operations first leaving me part temporary paralysed. I have coped quite well till 2021 January when suddenly one day my back went and had dreadful pain going down my legs. I have had MRI scan in June and was told it was my glutes. After a couple exercises and hydro I found the pain was no better and the nerves in legs and feet are now so bad I cannot stand or walk for a couple minutes. Why have the nerves in my legs and feet getting worse with the more I do. I would appreciate you comments.
I have taken anti inflammatory medicine for almost 2 months off and on. The. Lower back pain still persists... I have even resulted to sleeping on the hard floor.... Any other suggestions, it really hurts.
Is numbness also pain? I have lower back pain and numbness or weakness in both lower legs (ankles and top of feet). I did some deep squats last week and felt off last week. The lower back pain and nimbess started three days ago. No good.
I was lifting a book unit with one of my work colleagues and felt a sharp pain and went immediately into a slight hunch position whilst holding my lower right side , so when i went home i put an ice pack on . I took some painkillers and it was ok again in 2 days .A week after that i was getting out of bed and it went again .I put on ice packs again followed by a heat belt and three days later it seemed kinda ok again .....and this am it twitched again while pulling (removing) on a stuck carpet tile .So i'm out of work again and ...chiropractor tomorrow . Is is possible that it wasn't healed up when it twitched again ? Im usually ok to lift stuff not overly heavy .(i'm a carpenter ) I'm surprised it happened 3 times in a row ...or perhaps i shouldn't be .Any im goin to follow your advice .....cheers !!
Ashley, I have an L6 that is mostly fused to my sacrum. I'm an alien Haha I have had back pain since high school and been told this is why and I will have back pain for life. Have you ever seen my situation and do you have any thoughts on it?
I use to can do that work out.. but now can't bend my left knee to that degree so to cause a Sharp pain on my spine to my feet. Is there another way. I'm one not to take meds.
My pain is on the left lower backside, I get pain when standing. I think I started getting pain after I sit on the chair and lay back where the whole chair lay back with angles too.
I have horrible lower back pain, but my profession has me tied up to the computer screen for more than 8h. After sitting that long without movement, the pain is unbearable. My question is even if I do exercise, will the pain still be there, and over the years when we get older into 50s, 60s will this kind of work worsen the pain? Is it better to find alternative work with more movement?
I have just resigned because of my back pain. Can you find a different position? Or can you ask to have a flexible workplace such as more breaks but starting earlier or using a standing desk. I can't use a standing desk as I get pain even when I stand. I can't sit either.
Every morning I wake up early to pee and when I come back to bed, I cannot sleep any more. The pain starts at the lower back and goes to my whole back and left or right side of my whole body. That is strange. Isn’t it? Since I am not injured, I health insurance does not cover the cost of physiotherapy so I decided to not get an appointment .
Hi @ati, I'm so sorry to hear this. Have you seen a doctor about your back pain already? Its important to figure out the cause of your back pain first before trying any treatment plans. You can check out my video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-guZNSuwKY.html for more on this. Best wishes, Ashley.
I'm so sorry to hear about your lower back issues . Have you tried any of the stretches yet? Please keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
Your video are excellent but none seem to match my problem. For 40 plus years I have been getting electric shock pain around my ribs about 2 in he's away from my spine. Usually on the right but sometimes the left. It's not constant, it's every few weeks and can last for days. Heat . Cold, massage, exercise, pain killers, anti inflammatories, prescribed drugs like Lyrica and Topomax don't help. X-rays show nothing. I'm at my wits end.
