I noticed that this channel often forgets the main problem of the beauty standard - fashion, which is set by marketers. it says here that big lips speak of femininity, but in the last century it was the other way around because of a different fashion, as well as eyebrows, a figure and much, much more
Because that's not what they do. They don't make social commentary. Its very concerning to me that its seen as attractive to look more youthful/childlike. Reminds me of the pigtail theory and the obsession with school girl outfits/anime culture (which often portrays the women as very child like), which are very commonly found in porn. You cant condemn pedophelia and then tell women they need to essentially look like children to appease the male gaze. The double standard is crazy

All of these traits can still be found in adults but even adults with more gamine facial features dont look this childlike to me. The women in these pictures look almost edited theyre so childlike. The only reason why I say that is because I was very insecure because of this beauty standard and used to edit my pictures at 13/14 to have the same shorter faces, small noses, fuller lips and larger eyes just to be “prettier” because i didn’t have it to the same extent as what was seen as attractive, and mainly other girls online wouldnt want to talk to me because I “looked 8.” Even so, the original point of my comment wasnt to take a dig at the pictures used, but to the words. By being born a woman youre already feminine. Im certain every single facial feature you have is beautiful and unique since you were perfectly crafted by god. Why are you gonna let _people_ tell you whats beautiful and whats not? Stop comparing yourself to others and take a second to look at faces with "undesirable" features with love and youll notice how beautiful they actually are. This goes for every body type as well: rectangle, pear, apple, hourglass, etc... we are all living and breathing beautiful artforms that this world doesnt acknowledge. Never let anyone talk you down about your appearance ❤️😊
It's so interesting to see how the standards change through the years though. I live in a country in the east of Europe. I once showed my dad a girl I thought was beautiful and he seemed surprised, his answer was "but she's quite ugly, look how big her lips are". And this was a woman who had naturally big lips. I later found out that in his day average lips were seen as the most attractive, while big lips were seen as ugly and very thin or nonexistent lips were associated with mean girls 😂
Once upon a time having a fat ass was frowned upon. Women wanted to be as FLAT as possible back there. And then… well… now everyone and their mothers (fathers too!) want to pick & choose from among African traits. Even Cleopatra was supposedly blue-eyed and lily-white. Optimal defense against the African sun. 🤓
@dolIparts nobody is mad, but it is about european standards. East Asian standards are different - they like softer faces, less angular bone structure than Europeans. And African standards are different - baby face is less admired, they don't care about lips and it's more about the eyes and cheekbones.
So women from different ethnicities don't share essential feminine features ? Lmao. You can make out who is female regardless of their ethnicity. The standards are really the same for everyone
More like East African. Europeans usually have long faces, long noses and small slips. Somalis and Ethiopians usually have small face, noses and big lips.
@johnjungkook2721 by "nobody" you mean yourself, right? Because some of us are tired of this crap. Some of us are tired of being told the features we're born with are only attractive on a European face. Qoves didn't in entire these beauty standards. But they promoting them and doing very little to bring read diversity to their channel. If they want to talk only about European beauty standards, they should only look at and talk about European faces and make it clear that other ethnic groups are or should be judged by different standards. It's not truly inclusive to just include people of color who don't conform to their own phenotype as your depictions of beauty.

@@elisa1213being attractive and beautiful are two different things. How is your body? Maybe you have a nice body and men are mostly body driven. I know there are other things of me that make me attractive in an integral point of view. Tina Turner wasn't beautiful per se but she was super attractive
The 4 steps to a more feminine face (with info from part 2): Step 0: Get a disproportionately shorter face (maybe he means bangs can help? Theres no way to alter this surgically) 1. Longer eyelashes 2. Fuller lips (injections or lip plumper) 3. Smaller nose (rhinoplasty or contouring), but be careful that you don't actually have a weak chin, which can make the nose look bigger when it's actually fine. 4. Longer hairstyle
As a woman with a slightly longer face, I definitely feel that getting bangs has made me appear more feminine by making my face look smaller and daintier!
All these things listed are things you can’t get you’re born with them or not. Unless ofc you go under the knife, which isn’t as accessible as the internet makes it seem. Maybe you can do a video where you actually give tips to aid the appearance of people without the “desirable” features.
This stuff is illustrative, nobody should try to change themselves. Nobody can change their face structure. If tou are a healthy human, you will always be enough and attractive enough. If you are not healthy tho, that's a different situation

When many people talk about plump lips, there's a strange atmosphere in the environment, but that's because plump lips are traits of black people. But we know very well that women with full lips are more desirable!
i have classical baby face features large eyes with long eyelashes, smaller nose, full lips and a short face but i'm still ugly. what i figured out is that having all of the "right" is not a guarantee.
Maybe short, but also wide and not narrow and on the edge to rectanglenes. But still above average and pretty, just not the most lust or intimidation creating appearance, more friendly - but not as friendly as the wide, round face.
That is because a baby face is the least attractive for both men and woman. But women don't suffer as much as there are still many men who like it. But it's a curse for a man. I know it because I have it. Even if a baby faced person is good looking he or she can't be as sexually attractive to the opposite sex and people with less good looking but mature faces will always be more sexually attractive. That's where the problem is.
I feel as though some of the people shown in these videos would not be considered very attractive outside of the context of having their picture taken professionally and dressed in style. I feel as though i might walk past them and not find them attractive
You know, I really don't enjoy the "everyone is beautiful" movement that's been going on. For one it's just not true, it's only something we say to make people feel better, but more importantly I think it's the wrong angle to look at things. The world is far too obsessed with beauty and valuing people based on their looks, and instead of saying everyone is beautiful I would rather have us reject beauty as the ultimate goal. Not everyone is beautiful, and it doesn't matter, because beauty is far from the most important thing a person can be. Beauty isn't a virtue, it's just lucking out in the genetic lottery. Saying everyone is beautiful still keeps beauty on an undeserved pedestal, we should instead elevate more important character traits. Someone may not be beautiful but they may be kind, generous, helpful, intelligent, funny, insightful, ambitious.... All those things that actually matter, rather than just the aesthetic appeal of your flesh vessel.
If you want a channel that spreads that kind of message you are in the wrong channel. This channel focuses on beauty and attractiveness from a scientific viewpoint.
I would just like to point out that making videos like these, where certain facial features are defined as non-feminine and unattractive, can lead particularly sensitive people without "the perfect facial features" to increase their insecurities and feel bad about it or even send them into depression.
@Iodeddiper I don't think facial features can ever be objectively pretty and desirable by themselves. The only thing that matters objectively is harmony of the features.
Then we should delete all social media. He is talking about science behind beauty, nobody is responsible for nobody's feeling, turn off your phone and go touch grass if you are that sensitive.

Men have always had fuller lips than women on average and it has historically been a masculine trait. Shit cycles with fashion. Women who had supermodel sharp jawlines were once equated with matronly age, starvation, or straight up witchiness. The only trait that's been hated on women consistently through time is a large and/or distinctly shaped nose.
im not sure if this is correct, but in regards to your last statement i do believe there were eras and cultures where distinctly shaped noses were preferred over the button nose preferred today. i think in medieval europe or something? i just rememebr reading that noses with bumps was seen as a sign of nobility and attractiveness somewhere in the world.
@@hinalul You're thinking of Rome, it was attractive on men. In medieval Europe, especially England, there is artwork mocking women with "witchy" pointed, large noses (which are a natural ethnic trait of many Anglo-Saxon women).
Yeah, i don't get why women want sharp features overall like bella hadid and so on. I'm talking when those are not natural. Some degree of fuller cheeks in your face makes you look younger and softer **feminine** the example of this is anya Taylor Joy, which i believe she did something in her face.
Sometimes I don’t like having so many “feminine” and Youthful features. Some angles, and even a pointy longer brow or nose really looks beautiful and stands out on the face.
Yes!!! We always want a MAN to tell us how to be more "acceptable" or desirable as women. Thank you kind sir for all the study and research. The world has been changed by this knowledge.
I want everyone to know that you are beautiful just the way you are. I know everyone says this, but it’s true. In the end, it comes down to preference. Say you’re pretty and you are, say you’re aren’t and you’re not. I have all of the features listed in the video, has anyone but my mother said I am pretty. Yes, but did it really feel validating over the comments of hateful people? No. There will be days when you feel insecure, just know that you have features that other people want. It can be so random, but we all pick out the “bad” things about ourselves instead of the “good” things that we like. One tip I have for everyone, is to look in the mirror every morning and say three things you love, it can be really generic or very specific. At the end of the day, spend 1-2 minutes just looking at yourself, forcing yourself to see the good things rather than the bad. Overtime you will start to feel just a little less insecure. Try to say at least 3 compliments to others a day, it can be about their facial features, makeup, hair, personality, etc. Spread the kindness and love yourself and everyone around you ❤ (I also wanted to mention that the video talks about feminine features, not pretty features. You are feminine, you are beautiful, and you facial features are meant to fit your face, not someone else’s meant to fit you)
You can have the most scientifically beautiful and mathemtically proportionate features in the world but colour causes people to discriminate and see someone as less beautiful. Lots of africans have nice full lips and long eyelashes, features considered to be universally attractive, but there just isnt the same level of pretty privilege afforded to them.
This is actually very interesting. I did get told by multiple guy friends (Eastern Asian & Caucasian) that they see black women the least feminine (doesn’t mean they’re not attractive). However black women have the most feminine hour-glass body type, full lips, and big eyes. 😅
@@naomihu9399they mean in the face probably? Black Africans tend to have high cheekbones, larger jawlines but it’s true that black women have the most hyper fem bodies
I used to obsessed over big lips now I'm 21 and finally able to see the world past my own fake imagination. I honestly now find big lips rough. Slim and thin lips look royal tbh.
Everyone who is not understanding the point of the video, I’m gonna resume it. There’s both masculine and feminine features that everyone can have no matter their gender. For example, there’s man who have prominent feminine features, like Leonardo DiCaprio and there’s woman who have prominent feminine features like Adut Akech. Same way, there’s man who have prominent masculine features, like Henry Calvin and there’s woman who have prominent masculine features like Angelina Jolie. But having more masculine or feminine features doesn’t instantly define your level of attractiveness, because as you can tell, the people that I mentioned above are popularly know for their beauty and attractiveness even thought their features are not the same. This video is not saying that if you don’t have all this features you are ugly or less of a woman, it’s only explaining what makes a face look more feminine using examples of different woman with this features. This channel also has a video talking about “pretty boys” and it focuses on men with feminine features as well, but everything is explained from a scientific point of view, so if you want to see a video talking about how everyone is beautiful no matter what, then this is not the channel for you.
As a man i get often the comment saying i have a very feminine face and although my head is small, the height is larger than the width, also i dont have big lips or disproportionate big eyes so why would i get that said to me so much?
Because you’re maybe handsome or pretty ? I’ve noticed that some people equate beauty to femininity exclusively, because in their heads men are supposed to be, I don’t know, ugly maybe ?
you can love yourself while acknowledging beauty standards. I just don’t care about them, we just gotta embrace and enhance features that we already find good on oursleves
I think the lip thing is so interesting because small lips used to be considered beautiful and feminine not that long ago and its probably be cause they came off as more dainty or something. Im sure there are cultures around the world that still hold that belief. Just a thought.
@@anastasia.beaverhousenthin lips were never considered beautiful in any way. Someone would have always wanted a pout. That's why lipstick was created. One can have a more narrow mouth but still have pouty lips. No one would ever want thin, unshapely lips. Uh uh.

@@feyrie To me this sounds like nihilism and dystopian beyond words, but I agree with you and it’s none of my business what others choose. If hypothetically women do start to try and define what femininity is, it’ll be interesting to see what the consequences of women who desire to be attractive and those who don’t will be. We already see this in men as men who have lost interest in appealing to women are common in movements like ‘MGTOW’ (men going their own way), I suspect there’d be a negative feedback loop of not being attractive then complaining about beauty standards while continuously becoming less attractive in male eyes (which obviously wouldn’t matter it’s just interesting to think of the knock on effects).
There are no consequences of looking less attractive, just freedom and self love and that’s there is to it if you ditch the beauty standards in trying to appeal to the opposite sex.
