I switched a year ago. Main thing I learned is that while it's a bit more stable than my OnePlus, apps still crash on iphone a decent amount, and the UI is not nearly as good for single handed use
No problems with my OnePlus 8T rn but I used to have some problems when I had Android 12 (I have Android 13 now and this and 11 also work pretty damn well)
@@abcdefg7139it depends on preference and use case. in my opinion, you should definitely not, unless you have a lot of money and plan on buying everything apple and understand apple's vision and want to live with it.
@@abcdefg7139it’s a well built device with high quality software because people spend more and there are more ios users in america so many apps and features go out for ios first. If u have other apple stuff its a bonus but it works just fine without them.
I don't use any of the Google spyware. I tried this. It didn't work. iOS is so unbelievably restrictive and downright BACKWARDS that I simply couldn't use it daily. Heck, it's 2023 and you STILL can't just load an mp3 into an iPhone and set it as your ringtone. You need to cut a 30 second portion of it, save it in a specific format, put it on the garbage iTunes client and THEN send it to the phone. A Nokia from 2007 was more capable than this. iOS is designed for people too dumb to use any sort of computer whatsoever.
If you're switching, you should consider having different expectations too. Iphone and... Others.. are different phones. If you can't change, don't switch.
Being on iPhone for many years now I definitely don’t regret it but I do still use a pixel just because I love googles version of android I think Samsungs vision of android is cluttered and with a lot of bloatware but I took advantage of being in the apple ecosystem and got a MacBook Air, HomePod, Apple Watch and iPad and I love just how smoothly everything works together and there is no bloatware and unncessary apps or features that won’t get used.
I like how he admits that apple traps you in. And why would I pay more for a brand that is going to cost 2x as much and has half the features and forces you to use apple specific products that also cost 2x-3x more
I tried it a few times and I absolutely hate the home screen. It's infuriating to use; feels like prison. You can't even put your icons where you want. The keyboard is also so much worse. It's a huge difference. I also really missed the way better widgets, so I done have to open each app. Also the back button gesture; this one was really annoying to not have. Also the notch was a pretty terrible experience for video watching. Charging was painfully slow as well. You can't just quickly top up. Idle battery is really good, but my phone is not idle that much. Some of the apps seemed a bit better, and the animations were smoother compared to Android phones from 3-4 years ago. The 60 Hz screen and the lower resolution really bugged me too. It felt tens years older somehow even with the screen being great quality, the specs were bad. The newer iPhone 13 was better, but noticably not as nice as a Samsung screen or a Pixel 6/7. I got a Pixel for work now instead of an iPhone and it felt like such a breath of fresh air.
Hahaha you have to get used to it. And you can add other apple devices so you can blend in to the ecosystem. That way you (I think) might complain less and less because you will no longer see the phone as an singular odd device but an important part of a huge ecosystem. I'm not forcing you to buy more apple products and stop complaining. What I'm trying to say is that I think most people don't mind the things they don't have in iPhones because to them, it's not just a phone but a part of their lifestyle that works well with apple ecosystem.
same. I agree with you i tried it and for all of the reasons you stated i went back 3 seperat years and 3 gennerations of iphones, it is a bit smother, but it
@@EllisKaiLablmao yeah just lock yourself into Apple's walled garden and then you'll have to live with it or else. your phone has a subpar experience? just get used to it lmao
@@EllisKaiLab dont know or care about you but if i pay 800 + bucks for a phone i dont want a worse experience that i have to "get used to" or even worse, have to spend even more money to make it slightly better
@@EllisKaiLabFunny enough, that ecosystem is a big part of why I’m leaving Apple. Everything claims to work together seamlessly, but it instead works properly like 75% of the time, just enough that I expect it to work and try to use it, but it frequently doesn’t and I get annoyed. I already use Windows for my laptop and desktop, and have Samsung buds, which have overall been an improvement in my life. Next time I get a new phone it’s gonna be Samsung, as well as a Samsung watch. Might keep using an iPad, definitely my favorite Apple product that you really can’t replicate. At any rate the M1 iPad I have now’s probably got a decade of life left in it, and the iPad is relatively good at being bullied into working nicely with non-Apple products. But it might just be replaced by a Surface Pro some day.
I completely agree. They’re both great phones. All depends on which one suits your lifestyle. I will say that once you’re sucked into the Apple eco system it’s difficult to get out. I’ve switched to android 3 times and I always end up coming back to Apple. I love the Samsung phones but for me personally, iPhones just suit my lifestyle better.
Imagine using iphone in 2024 💀, iphone has DEFINITELY 100 more flaws than iphone , one of the many being that they dont even include chargers on the box more evil you die 😂 , while xiaomi has phones that charge in 6 minutes how can you beat that ?! Meanwhile on iphone they just recently got usb c cause they were forced im surprised they didnt make some way to force you into buying THEIR usb c cable maybe thats because they cant 😂 , go on name a single flaw android powered smartphones have ? You can even de-google many phones by installing lineage OS 😂
As someone who uses both ecosystem I'm tend to bias to android a bit, well with offline music listening with hi-res files, drag and drop files from pc to android, a dedicated file manager for phone, customization look etc..
The EU law will soon force them to do so, at least in EU countries. But you could just change your country to france, there you'd have sideloading and the law that Apple can't purposefully slow down your iPhone after a few years.
@@braydenstark5212just dont enable side loading, it has to be an option like it is in Android, you have to go to specific settings and enable sideloading to actually install APKs.
Personalization and customization aside, iOS is just very inconsistent form a user experience point of view. Nowhere near as "polished" as many people say. It feels very cumbersome to use, and is a stark contrast to the otherwise excellently built iPhone. My ideal phone would be an iphone with android on it. Call me crazy, but iphones are fantastic from a hardware perspective, but the software is garbage.
software is a broad term. Id say the third party apps of IOS are far more polish but the UI and system apps are garbage. I have an Ipad pro, I like the device especially apps like procreate and nomad sculpt however, the file manager and system setting is mess and very limiting at times. like why are photos arent save automatically in the file manager. Some task requires 2-3 extra steps to get done.
Hard to call iphones are fantastic from a hardware standpoint when it took them like nearly 10 years to actually use USB C(Or 7 if we're talking about phone use) and then sell you considerably outdated hardware for 2-3 times it's value and market it like it's a new thing
I switched this week. What bothers me so far is that the apple keyboard is horrible (and I can't use my other keyboard when typing a password), I needed a 3rd party $17 app to transfer WhatsApp chats (official didn't work), I have to download mail attachments 1 by 1, apple's auto screen brightness sucks, and that screen rotation lock has no possibility to turn you screen manually like android has.
I'm waiting for them to come with pencil and have ability to open multiple apps in multiwindow (useful for dragging files from one app to another with one hand) and be designed for one handed use. Then I'll think abt it. I like the sound effects, tactile feedback, animation, face id and how better-looking (to me) are the contras and effects in games. I still like a curved edge display, and the basics - edge lighting, edge gestures (I rarely have to open an app by tapping from app drawer because I use gestures to do that) and edge panels in android.
@@braydenstark5212But some people like me just want freedom. We need to install apk or need more customisation so for them Android is the way. Most people buys iPhones as a status symbol, and it's smoother than Android is because of it's limitations
@@braydenstark5212 yeah, phones are phones. but an iphone feels like a useless 2003 brick (no offense to people who use 2003 feature phones, i'd actually prefer using one of those than using an iphone)
What's wrong with android is that it has alot of features, pretty open system and modified easily to the point that all that modification will eventually end up affecting performance and damage that "polish" sense in use I have a samsung phone that is fully customized for my own taste, I have good lock enabled and I use some modded apps here and there, it satisfies all my needs but it feels a bit iffy sometimes, some apps crashing that gets on my nerves Pretty much the definition of suffering from success
Weird that my 4 year old Note+ plus didn't experienced any crash despite having it customized based on my taste (third-party apps, Good Lock, KWGT, etc...). Sure there are stutters sometimes (8-10 instances a week) but never had any crashes. Maybe I just got lucky. And i have the exynos variant 😶
@@paulanonuevo5678 you lucky, my Oppo f3 already unuseble and now poco f1 a started to lag and crash or turn off on their own even tho this phone never fall off, already reset the phone 3 time because it making bugs that make the phone unusable, while my iPad 6 2018 still going strong (no major bug that make the iPad unusable and the Battery life is somehow still last for 9-10 hour) although its can't run most modern game anymore because of the low spec but its still powerful drawing device 😅
From what I understand, Apple works better for people who are mostly busy or too old/too young to care about much. When taking it from that perspective, it really is great. I have an iPhone and even after 3 years it’s still reliable. Not only that, the majority of apps are optimized for iOS, when in the Apple ecosystem everything is very nicely optimized with each other. Even apple’s support system is fast and reliable, despite costing more. Overall I think, to apple’s own audience, it’s great.
Samsung S23 ultra is the best I got bored of my i phone 14 pro max after a week of buying it and switched back to my samsung plus I also have the flip 4 which is amazing. Who cares about ecosystems I use what I like and what suites me at the time period. And to me I love samsung products I also have the galaxy watch 5 as well

Hope that is productive enough for you 💪💪
I just switched to iOS as well and while I really like the size, haptics and general software fluidity, the camera processing is visibly worse than on my 2019 Pixels 4 to the point that I’m tempted to switch back to a 3.5 year old phone just for photo quality, since smartphones are mostly cameras these days.
I did notice that my Pixel 2 XL was taking way better photos than the iPhone 13 I had. Weird, right? The iPhone did everything else better, but still interesting.
@@Ferrichrome it's been 2 months and by now I realized that it's particularly the color of my wooden floor and furniture the iPhone struggles to reproduce in anything but blazing daylight. Outside, it has quality parity with a Pixel.
@@Davidesrajohn yeah it all depends. I was actually looking back at my old Pixel 4 photos, (which synced perfectly into iCloud Photos btw!) and I was actually quite impressed by how good some of the photos turned out on that phone. Sometime the iPhone camera processing tends to blow out the details of pictures and make them look to noisy. Other times this “larger than life” aspect looks really good.
I feel like with Android I am unplugged from The Matrix, I like the fact that if I want to use my Sony earbuds with my Samsung phone it's easy to use instead of everything being Apple everything. Plus the customizations is outstanding in Android
We need a 3rd phone brand that allows transfers of files and photos. No matter how advanced they get they can’t perform basic tasks like sending a photo or checking an email feed without it turning to garbage.
i used to be a massive apple hater, but after switching, it’s rly amazing in many ways, albeit not great in others. apps open twice as fast (including google apps, ironically), animations are buttery smooth, and compared to my pixel gaming performance is so much better. still definitely has flaws, little customization (though more than pixel in some areas), no sideloading, etc. but it’s been a pretty amazing experience. being able to uninstall almost every preinstalled app is rly cool too, unlike how samsung doesn’t even let you delete facebook.
I just switched to iOS after 10 years on android. Kinda shocking how polished yet inconsistent the user experience is. Gesture navigation is shockingly bad on iOS. You swipe back, then you gotta tap, or swipe down etc...Really miss Android..
if you miss android, why not giving it another go? i tried iphone one time. i returned it after 2 days of usage. it's so locked that it feels like a high security prison from 2003. you can't even separatly adjust the calls and alarm volume. it feels so old.
some nerds in the comments are like “boo hoo no customization” yeah because i have better things to do than spending hours customizing the device knowing no one around me will ever look at it and go “yoo that’s sick!”. I also know for a fact that non tech people wouldn’t give a fuck about customizing anyways. Jesus Christ, just pick whatever suit you better.
I also have an Android and i don’t have time and/or energy to do heavy customizing beside what’s provided in the stock system. Yall needs to get a life instead of comparing these two ecosystem knowing you gain nothing from this.
yea i got a chance to get my first iphone 14 pro max but after all things i heard about it i ended getting s23 ultra. that phone is the best like you can change ANYTHING in the settings how you want. sometimes i think if iphone was the better option but no
People talking bout ios lacking customisation just don’t get the vision of the brand. No offence it just comes down to preference. Android or ios simple as that.
When people don’t realize android is just as and even more expensive than Apple. Everyone who’s team android knows Samsung is the premium flagship handheld for android. Samsung is a walled garden as well. You have Samsung pay, Samsung buds, samsung gps trackers, bixby, samsung health etc. Or you sell your data to google. And yes you can change assistants, but you can also change iPhone assistant to google assistant as well. It’s just an app folks. And you give it permissions. Samsung galaxy ultra is like a 1300 phone. Insane.
At least Android phones drop in price quickly. But that's also the downside, when preordered or bought early you lose like 40-50% of value in 1 or 2 years, iPhones keep their value much better. In fact, with the high resell value, it's actually cheaper (!) to buy iPhones than Android phones
@@lxnd absolutely. You can say the same for majority of Apple devices. I purchased my last Mac in 2016 and it’s still worth like $400 in trade in. That’s nuts!
Samsung isnt the same walled garden that apple is though. Apple deliberately makes their technology entirely incompatible with other ecosystems in order to prevent people from leaving their ecosystem. Want to transfer files from a windows laptop to your iPhone? You have to use iTunes. Want to text someone not using an Iphone (assuming your in the USA where everyone tends to use the default messaging setup instead of whatsapp or something similar to it)? Apple will downgrade your texting from iMessage to SMS/MMS instead of using RCS which makes the experience overall worse for all people involved (this is something they could fix very easily but have chosen not to). While Samsung may have some 'samsung only' features they're not nearly as restrictive or important to the core functionality of the phone and how it interacts with other devices.

That ecosystem lock-in what drove me away from iphone. Have been their user since the 'OG' 2G until the 6s. Now in my 5th year with Android. Never thought of looking back.
Everyone says Android is more customizable. But how so? What are you customizing? I only do that with wallpapers and ringtones and I can do that on iPhone.

I have a Moto RAZR+ and an iPhone mini. Both do distinct jobs. Instead of fighting like cats and dogs, use the one that’s conducive to your needs. And let others do their thing.
The only thing I hate is that my Fitbit can’t integrarte well with apple health unless I pay for apps. I don’t want an Apple Watch. I literally don’t want a second phone on my wrist. Just my fitness tracker
I prefer Samsung features of long screenshot, call auto recording, clipboard ability just easy to copy everything and paste or save for later use, secure folder where you can use any files or apps separately like a second phone and many more. 🎉
Went from s23 FE to iPhone 15 Pro Max. Battery life is so much better on the Max. And now I like the newer iPhones coz of type C charging. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and what they chose to use.
Uh huh, at least in September, I was able to move all my chats on line from Android to IOS so either Line added it somewhat recently or XDA had it disabled 👀
Don't know if it's the case for others but my friend's Apple Health step tracking is so inaccurate. Sometimes he does more steps but it's distance travelled is way off compared to another day with similar number of steps. Steps also sometimes go wack even when he's not that active that day. He's using just his XR no watches.
yup, that's apple's technique to make you buy an apple watch. just use another cheap watch that counts steps, for example, a mi band. at least it's way more accurate than a phone.
Yeah, I agree with you. The S23U boosted my GPA. In Semester 1, I got a 2.97/4, and in Semester 2, I got a 3.53/4. All of my lessons are kept in a Samsung Note for easy reference and lecture records. I can easily revise the lessons before the exams.

I moved from iphone to andriod after the bs from my first generation Air pod pros (I had to replace them every 6 konths because the left air pod would static). Luckily apple care + saved me for those replacements. Still, $250 for the airpod pros that have to be replaced every 6 months was infuriating. Ive had an iphone since Iphone 5S and switched after my iphone 12. I did like my iphone but I couldnt afford another iphone after my screen cracked. So, I got a pixel 6a since google is also a performance based phone. Both phones are extremely fast but I only paid $300 for my 6a and it offers the same experience from my iphone 12. All I care about is instant app start and fast performance and a good camera and im set.
To each his own preference: I love trial apps. Iphones requires registration of your CC to continue with the trial app. Android ask you if you want to register your CC then continue with the trial app. Times and again, I forget to unsubscribe. Iphone automatically deducts money & charge your CC. Android politely notify me that the trial is done, do I want to continue?
I regret buying an iPhone, like I cannot even emphasise how much I hate apple ecosystem. Good thing is this is my first purchase of any apple product. I have had super polished experience with android and imho, android sync is far better. I have two WhatsApp numbers because I travel internationally quite frequently, and it’s a f***ing pain in the arse with the transfer of chats as WhatsApp does not allow multi-account on WhatsApp. I am selling iPhone this week and would rather buy an OnePlus 12 over any apple product.
The eco system is truly dangerous. I really love apple, I don’t ever plan to be “appleless” but I do want to try other products too. Their ecosystem makes that financially infeasible. Very much a shame.
The first point makes no sense. WhatsApp lets you link devices regardless of OS. I use it on both my android and iPhone and the chats are all linked so I don’t lose anything when I switch over.
My Samsung S23 Ultra is the best phone ive ever had. Ive had iphone 6, 7, 10, xr, 12 and 13.......and theres no difference between them all. Im glad im back with Samsung.......alot has changed since the j series
I've used both over the years and Android is my permanent choice. It's seriously WAY BETTER than ios in every way. I could write a list as long as my arm but I won't bore you. Not to mention much better hardware and device choices and price points. You'd have to be a right idiot to switch from Android to ios
as somebody who daily drives ios, you get pretty used to everything after a while. in fact, sometimes that lack of customisation makes the experience alot more polished. yes, ios isnt perfect, but so isnt android.
I just upgraded to an iPhone 11 and I really wanted to switch to Android...a lot of things are locked behind Apple's walls and I'm getting tired bc of it day by day
I just switched from android, Did it mainly for school reasons. The ecosystem is better than android, and all the devices work together. I still love Samsung, and if I wasn't going to school, I would still be on android.
Please don't compare iOS with Android in comment section as Android is open world where anyone can do mostly anything (without restrictions) and iOS is a perfect jail where you'd get everything but you've to follow them for everything they say for better security and for that you pay the prices accordingly. So by that Android is for everyone from the poor to the richest but ios is only for a limited amount of people and considering openness of Android I can say that Samsung handles phone security better with freedom it gives to its users. At last it comes to users as there are top end Android users too who aren't comfortable with iOS and vice versa.
I went over to iPhone for a year and it had its pros and cons. The iPhone 12 was very fast and reliable but after a year the battery life was terrible probably due to being such a small battery. And iPhone is just boring. It very much is a world where Apple knows best and you have to just do what they want.
