I love this explanation of a high-value woman. This makes a lot of sense to me. I think when we value ourselves, we value other people, too. I’ve really been learning a lot from you and I love your videos.🌸
As a High Value Woman, my guests get new towels, soaps, and a guest basket of toiletries to use, and soft cozy blankets. I loved this video!!!! More, please...
I am and have always been a high value woman but this is the first time I've known there was a term for it. I love your videos. I have learned so much from you.
For the comment finding this dehumanizing, placing a monetary value, etc. etc. Please watch the video. She speaks of valuing yourself, cleanliness, and consideration of others. Not to mention the frequent advice, like, for years, re thrifting/reuse/vintage.
My landlady just lets us do whatever cosmetic changes we want as long as we pay our rent and don't damage the structure. I have repainted the entire house and restyled a lot of areas. My mother has lived here for 25 years, and I have been here about 12. The house was mostly dark paneling and not even real wood at that. You couldn't see in here, and the lovely items that my mother has collected over the years were lost in the gloom. I have only ever lived in military housing and rentals, and I can't imagine not decorating and making the space my own in some way. I am an artist, which may be relevant, lol.
One of the many reasons I subscribed as soon as I watched my first video of you! Your key point: High VALUE doesn't always mean High DOLLAR. Sometimes the best quality isn't the most expensive. But, above that, the best point is 'what is of quality amd value to us' is the most important. AND, I especially love how you pointed out that even though we may rent, our space is still important! Even as a young adult, going through college age renting and then late twenties, my spaces weren't "trend setting", but I wanted to feel AT HOME! So, as I brought things in, I started making conscious decisions about what qualities I wanted and would those pieces carry over time. 😊
The thing is, "high value woman" implies that there are women that are "low value". I understand what you are trying to say, but language is so important and there are so many terms to choose from that I think this one contains an extra meaning that we could avoid. Different women value different things, I have friends that can't be bothered with home decor and when I'm in their bathroom, I don't judge them because I know their value as a person or their appreciation for me and our friendship doesn't come from what type of towel they choose, that's not how they work, perhaps they are very good at doing other things that I personally don't understand and don't value as much, but I know I'm not going to be judged by them for doing it wrong. Again, I understand the meaning in the context of the video and that's why I think we could find a more specific non measurable label that expresses this idea better, not just for other women, but for ourselves. Interior design can make us feel comfortable in our space, we can enjoy build and maintain it however I think it goes without saying that it's not healthy to measure your self-worth by it.
I could not agree more about investing in a rental. People thought I was crazy for getting a custom closet in my rental because I wouldn’t get my investment back when I left. I explained I got my sanity back so it was worth it. Love your channel.
I love the makeup you use! I am definitely into a simple, flattering, clean look! Years ago when Perscriptives makeup was still in business, a makeup artist at the counter taught me about undertones, etc. It made so much difference - and I have applied what she showed me to other makeup lines ever since.
Loved this video. I've been renting as a single mum for 20 years this month. Unfortunately in Australia most landlords won't let you put one nail in the wall nor paint (and they inspect the property every 3 months) so I've never spent money on my home and just had my same old furniture I had since I was married (most of it now 25 years old). My kids are finally old enough to kick out (22 and 25 haha) and I am building myself a little terrace house and starting from scratch and buying everything new. I'm having SUCH fun and feel so much better about myself now. I was embarrassed of my living situation for 20 years and it affected my self worth, my dating life, and even my friendships as I rarely had guests. Finally I can change that. Oh and for the record I just started buying vintage items and found that my favorite decor is boho, mid-century eclectic. Time for a fresh start as a High Value Woman!
And YES just this week I bought 3 portable beds, new quilts, pillows, linen and towels for overnight guests (before I even saw this video) because I want everyone who stays to feel comfortable and lovely.
Yes!! Agree!! 'Value' as a noun could mean principals or standards. 'Value' as a verb means to consider something to be beneficial or have a high opinion of.
Perfectly said. I’m not understanding why “high value woman” is offensive unless you don’t consider yourself as such. Value does not always mean anything monetary!
Absolutely agree! I'm shocked that anyone would think Baiyina would mean "high value" in terms of anything negative or misogynistic... I took it as women who know their worth and are committed to their own personal development. Just being the best version of ourselves🙂
Great video. I never heard the term “ high value woman” . I take it as a woman who values herself. Your home is an extension of yourself and how you present yourself to others. I guess I am a high value woman.
I loved this content. When you talked about how you were going to level up several years ago, it inspired me to do the same. Now, you are talking about what it is to be a high-value woman. Such an empowering way to approach personal style and interior design. Awesome video!
Your home is a reflection of you, hoarders homes are an extreme example of this. I enjoy your videos and admire your careful editing and awareness of space/ keeping empty spaces and minimalism. I've stopped buying stuff (because I like it at that moment) and am trying to be more considered, thanks x
Before I ever bought a home someone said they always stay at least one night in their guest bedroom and I thought that was brilliant. I had bought curtains but they weren’t efficient enough for how bright that part of the house is when the sun rises. Also thank you for reminding me to update my guest towels. I’ve only had them a year and they’re already not soft 🙄
High value, stop, just stop with the negative comments. This was a great video Baiyina. We should always value ourselves and others, be kind and why shouldn't our living space reflect that? Thanks 😃
Well said ! I wish this mentality will “rub off” to all renters. Make your rental a home, value yourself by living in a beautiful space. Great topic 🖤🖤🖤
Love this! Thank you for giving props to folks working on different budgets too. Most people I know don’t have millions to decorate with. Your advice is always so helpful 👍
This was good information. I really enjoyed the video. You made some good points/reminders to value you ourselves and our space. Love the lip color on you. Thanks for sharing!
Omg the comments of "you rent, why would you..." I was a renter for YEARS. It's still your home!! Literally the same, no distinction at all. For those blessed to live in an affordable market, please remember MANY millions of folx around the world rent. They often care about decor and interiors, just the same, and still want to be comfortable, and surrounded by beauty.
Was watching a newer video and this one started next - I might have missed it the first round but love the philosophy which is really helping us have well rounded lifestyles. The way you continue to educate yourself on different 'style' areas is encouraging to the rest of us.
Stylishness would be very very acceptable. Absolutely love your style and the generous way you share it. Just don’t like the term high-value .. but your channel, your terminology. Go on You-Tubing, thank you!
Great video. Your towel example reminds me of how I get so grossed out when I have to dry my hands on someone’s soggy bathroom hand towel. I make sure to put out individual paper towels when I have guests over. Don’t like to use the paper, but I guess it has its place in the world at times.
You are absolutely right about investing in your rental home. So many have told me it’s a waste of time and money to upgrade something that I don’t own, but if I am living in it I need to be comfortable and happy. Having said that, I still haven’t made it known how much I shelled out for my Turkish living room carpet…😁
This is good advice. However, people are inherently valuable. I understand that it is a trending phrase in self improvement, I just do not personally like it.
I consider myself a high value thrifter 🤔 is that a thing. I just have an eye for high quality items. I love the hunt. I’m a soft classic and all my cashmere, linen and silk items are from the thrift stores. It’s worth the dry cleaning when every item in my closet is under $10(not including intimates and shoes) I have recently started investing in quality everything from makeup to kitchen utensils. I love your videos btw.
Have you ever heard of The Laundress Wool & Cashmere shampoo? I recently tried it and my cashmere sweater came out great. A big money saver. I guess I am a high value thrifter as well. Mostly in the home decor department. ☺
Love your videos. I understand concept of home reflecting yourself but it also can reflect the others living there that don't care about neatness or clutter. We pretty much live in our own areas of the home and I'm constantly trying to declutter but causes undo stress. Dining table is set up as home office for one and it's a mess. Good thing I don't have many visitors coming over. At least the powder room is clean but that's a daily chore.
This information can be life changing, its definitely inspiring. I'm excited about your updated style quiz. Looking forward to working with you in nearest future.
It's nice to have only four to choose from. I get decision fatigue and a bit overwhelmed with too many choices and then I start to question my choices once I've made them. With only four...it's easy to choose with no regrets.
I disagree with the last sentence(can think of many people in prison for life who the world could do without 🤷🏻♀️) but she essentially means a woman who values herself.
I really like your speech patterns and annunciation. Would you consider doing a video on this? I could really use improvement in this area as I feel I don't sound as intelligent as I would like. My southern accent doesn't help matters much since that type of accent gets a bad rap sometimes. lol This would really help me with my leveling-up journey. Thanks!
When I initially took your survey didnt feel your analysis was correct but I just didnt get it ..but sometimes I can be a slow processor but sometimes people just wrong well your style yours mine but I'm appreciate input
Setting aside the disturbing concept of being a “high value woman,” I do think it’s good to care enough for yourself that you want to invest in your home and your guests, at whatever level makes financial sense for you. For me, that might not be makeup, but might be cooking good food. But I think it should be driven by what makes you happy and what makes the people in your life feel loved rather than being about how you present yourself. (Also, this is neither here nor there, but the stylish mess photos just look like a regular mess to me. Clutter is never stylish in my book.)
The concept of being “high value” is deeply disturbing and dehumanizing. It assigns monetary value to the individual when human dignity which is intrinsic to all should be the “marker” of worth. I can’t dislike this enough.
Monetary value is one of multiple definitions of the word value. My take away from how Baiyina is using it is to impart or place importance and respect upon a person or item. She seems (to me) to be showing respect to herself and her guests and her home.
I mean no offense, however the style icon whose office photo you showed, looked as though both she and her work space could use your help for a make over. Neither her space nor her personal style would be worth emulating. The lip color looks lovely on you. How’s Milo? Please put him in more videos.
Is this a joke?! You do know that the term "high-value woman" is ROOTED IN MISOGYNY right?.... so disappointing. The video is seemingly fine but that term is not.
The viewers of the channel have different backgrounds and perspectives. Some of us are not offended by the term and look forward to her creating topics around a more complete lifestyle.
The lack of basic research from where this term started (fishy at best) to where it is today (a tool to demean and belittle based upon simplistic comparison)* is shocking. Can’t believe it was on my feed). *in case anyone is wondering about the mainstream use, it is basically refinished/repainted/repackaged incel terminology for “negging” in the noun form.

I truly don’t understand the negative comments regarding the term “high value woman.” Of course we all should strive to feel that way! This video is a good reminder of that!
I love this channel... but if your bathroom is dirty or you don't have the best accommodations for your guest you are still highly valued by God and should be valued by all people.
