Dwarf crayfish are my new obsession! They are super similar to shrimp in size but they are hardier and a little bigger which makes them better for fish tanks (peaceful fish that is). same they grow quick! the only one i have got a hold of a guppie overnight and i found him halfway finished with the guppy, he goes into jail for the night until I give him away

I've been eyeballing some CPO's for a few months. I picked up a few Amano shrimp from you a few months back and they're doing great! Very active and fun to watch. Only thing is that once these die off there won't be anymore since the eggs won't hatch out in fresh water. So i've been thinking about getting a pair or two of CPO if and when my Amanos start to age out.

Hi, sir. I need your cooperation. About a year ago, I did setup a tank for breeding caridina shrimps. Cause I didn't have access to ADA, Benibachi, or Shirakura soil, I chose the Dennerle brand and, failed. I'm pretty sure the reason I failed is just using this soil. Now, I have access to ADA soil. What do you think about using a top filter, securing its entrance with a sponge and pouring the ADA soil into the top filter and passing water over the soil and bringing the pH level to the ideal state? Meanwhile, the use of bacteria, within seven days, to neutralize the releasing of ammonia through the ADA soil

Had an orange Mexican crayfish attack a longfinned male betta. He/she grabbed onto the betta's pectoral fins and would not let go -- took a wild ride around the 15 gallon aquarium until I caught both of them in a net. The betta was terrified. 😢

He did say they are opportunistic, I actually had almost the exact same thing happen except the CPO grabbed it's tail fin and also let go on it's own so I didn't have to intervene. Definitely gave me a surprise to see my Betta moving so fast away from something but I couldn't help but let out a giggle when I saw the Cray trailing behind by one claw only to let go and go into hiding once it landed 😂 he definitely avoided the CPO from then on whenever he saw it.

Short story: CPO with black orchid betta. Corner of my eye I saw a flash of orange. I look in the tank, the betta was doing 100 mph around the tank with the CPO clamped on to its tail....shredded his tail up pretty bad.

Poor thing u can add dechlorinator API with aloe Vera and add tannins too in the water to help it grow

I use water column substrate. PVC cage with string and 1/8 inch plastic netting with scrap pvc on the bottom. On a 55g I can 6x the living space . 🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐

You definitely can do that! Id recommend lots of live plants and lots of hiding places for the shrimp

@@kittensnugs No. There is wayyy too many animals in just 20 gallons that the ammonia build up will overpower any 20 gallon filter. Around 20 fish should be kept in a 20 gallon tank. 42 needs the bare minimum of around 50 gallons. A crayfish should have at least 5 gallons and 10 for the best setup. I would have all of that in at least 70 gallons for all of them to have enough space and also so they don't die from their own feces and buildup of food.

I have seen one regular size crayfish attack and eat another . Honestly it freaked me out . I'm sure people are trying to use docile examples. Still I wouldn't trust them. Just saying. Anyhow, I wish yall good luck with them and all.

Dwarf crayfish? Keep in mind all crayfish poop up a storm, lurk like aquatic praying mantises, will catch and eat your fish, are not great tank cleaners.
