He got shot before a speech and then gave the speech anyways with a bullet in him next to his heart. He only survived it because his thick speech and glasses case slowed the bullet. He loved to hunt things like bears and rhinos, and on one bear hunting trip he didn't kill anything for three days so his companions clubbed a baby bear, tied it down, and told him to shoot it. He refused and told them to mercy kill it because they maimed it. That's why stuffed bears are called TEDDY BEARS. He wen't to war on a horse and led his men straight into gunfire and won the battle. He saved FOOTBALL from being banned for safety issues. There would be no football for all you jocks to hoot at. He was a man of God and honesty. He was a manly man of all men to lead men. I think Andrew Jackson would have them all beat: Fought in the Revolutionary War as a young teen, captured, fought in indian wars, conquered Florida, defeated the British at New Orleans in 1815, won dozens of duels, and even survived an assassination attempt -- he was pretty badass.

The first Roosevelt was pretty hardcore too! He was a real bounty hunter in the Wild West, who hunted down some outlaws and carried them on the back of his horse back to his village over the course of several days, without getting any sleep. He avoided falling asleep by reading the same comic strips again and again. Then later, during his presidency, he was shot, but he didn't pass out and the gunman fled. The bullet had apparently hit the speech in his pocket, and since he didn't cough any blood, he assumed he wasn't fatally wounded, so he proceeded with his speech before seeking any medical attention. That's badass.
