Yeah I recorded this after an exam and noticed that during the editing. Definitely not my best work and probably something I should’ve gone back to re-record but I wanted to get it out for y’all

Two different audiences. The people looking up magic tricks and clicking through magic thumbnails on RU-vid aren’t the same people you perform for in the street. Even if spectators look it up to learn the “secret,” they tend to forget it after a few days once their interest has passed. These videos are geared towards people who actually want to learn the techniques, not just the secrets behind them. Plus I personally don’t buy the BS that magic should be kept a secret. I don’t reveal how I do tricks while I’m performing, but if a kid comes up after a show and is genuinely curious and wants to learn a trick, I’m not going to gatekeep them.

@@Tex100 bro if you see “not telling your methods” to your AUDIENCES as “gatekeeping” you’re definitely not a professional by any means. That’s lowkey sad bro. No respect for the art at all or the community. If you’re a hobbyist then ok bro you do you I guess. 😬

@@Tex100 you do know other people are trying to make an actual living off of this stuff right? It’s not “BS”. But I wouldn’t expect you to understand. The ONLY moral justifications you are entitled to when you perform magic is 1. “It’s all an illusion” 2. “It’s fake” 3. “It’s all sleight of hand” what else do they need?? Think about it 😑

@@Tex100 if you teach a 6 year old the glide or something easy that HE/SHE can do when they get home….that’s fine but don’t tell me you show people the “good stuff” literally after you perform for them. That’s like giving someone a gift or memory and taking that shit away. #nothanks

@@jeremyrjackson You clearly just want to start an argument, and that's fine. If you have nothing better going on in your life then go right ahead. I mentioned gatekeeping in reference to a kid asking to learn something after a show. I never tell an actual audience how I do something. That's not gatekeeping, that's performance etiquette. If someone looks it up on their own later, they're more than welcome to, but I don't explain what I'm doing while I perform.
