4 Ways to Talk about the Future in English | Advanced English Grammar

Did you know there are 4 ways to talk about the future in English and only 1 of them uses the word ‘will?’
It’s true. In fact, most of the time, English
speakers don’t use ‘will’ to talk about the future.
Instead, when talking about future timetables, events, plans, predictions, or intentions, we’re more likely to use the
- present simple tense
- present continuous tense
- going to + infinitive verb structure
And then sometimes we use ‘will.'

Hi Annemarie, I really enjoy learning with your lessons. Here are my four answers : 1) If the weather isn't too cloudy, we are spending the weekend walking in the vineyards and visiting an old castle, which is falling more and more into ruin. 2) My favorite coffee shop opens at 8:00 am and as usual I have a large coffee. 3) As soon as my free time allows it, this weekend I'm going to finish my book I started last month. 4) In 20 years, robots help us, as they already do today, more and more in everyday life, but unfortunately they will also watch us more and more. I'm going to spend my next weekend to studying English and helping my friend milena with her English. Well, after the pandemic I've stopped to visit my favorite coffee shop then I didn't know exactly the hour but I can bet 8 AM . I'm going to give some extra money with particular classes and I intend to improve my English and maybe to starting my Spanish classes. I don't have sure because I barely know if i'm gonna be alive in 20 years, but I can say : the climate will change our lifestyle for worst.
