Original video: • FIRST Full Lawn Renova...
This lawn was renovated back in early March.. temperatures were "only just" doable.. The spot is in a very shaded location, and was absolutely full of builders rubble.. old tarpaulin and slabs.
I transformed the area, and waited patiently for the lawn renovation result.
This video is literally just 4 weeks later..
And in another 4 weeks it should be looking epic!

Hell of an improvement that kiddo. We've had a good season to date for the lawns - mild winter & damp spring as it's warmed up top temp was about 28c but partly cloudy - has ment we haven't had to start the ground water pumps. Great Job there

Thanks 👍. 28 sounds lovely 🤞🤞🤞🤞

25c with a humidity of 50% we find perfect for man and garden. Keep up the good work.

I bet that's a huge difference for the home owner compared to before! I overseeded last Saturday & have seen nothing so far. Temps are up & down, with sun & rain all in the same day! At least there's been a few days when I haven't had to water (although that means it's raining again!).
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
Thanks 😊.. Give it another week or so for the germination 🤞🤞🤞

I put grass seed down a week ago but with temps over 9c and around 2c in the night, shall I give up hope or wait and see? It's only been a week
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
Yeah it's still early really.. Another week an dyou should see new shoots.. About 4 weeks total and should be ready for first cut

Hey Shaun. Will the colder than average weather mean that some seeds won't germinate? I've just over seeded but the temperatures down in the south east look like they will be struggling to get into double figures for the next week or 2.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
Hi they'll still come through but will just take a bit longer

Can I use a frost fleece for seed germination around around a small tree. I noticed after watering the drops gather on the surface. I thought they would take the water faster. I thought about puncturing some smal holes around the fleece the allow more water through. I want to keep it on for about 5 weeks as its a bent fescue mix and establishes slowly. Animals like to dig at the new sandy loam soil😢
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
Hi yes.. It's only when it's new it forms the oubbles but it does soak through
@stevenbelcher5658
@stevenbelcher5658 Месяц назад
@@LawnRight thanks! It looked almost waterproof when watering as it was running off. I found it useful to tread the seed in after it was added as the field no4 was sticking to my trainers and pulling the seed up with it.
@stevenbelcher5658
@stevenbelcher5658 Месяц назад
@@LawnRight Hey. It's absorbing the water better now but it seems to stick to the seed. Is that normal? I couldn't cover with compost as the contrast between rootzone and moist field no4 results in it sticking to my trainers and lifting it up. I raked it a little in circular motion to try and not move the seeds but most still come up on top as the seed (bent / fescue) cant be covered more than 4mm or the bent wont germinate.I guess it will make tap roots and stick to the surface at some point?

Beneath my "lawn" is full of rocks 😤 I had a small home restoration and they had so many rocks and cement leftovers on the ground.. they "cleaned it" a bit and installed grass sod on top.. The grass lasted 1 year and now its all messed up. it's all patchy, It was so bad i even found rocks of the size of my palm and cement ... I detatched , scarified and pooly aerate the lawn since i mostly was hitting rocks and even fertilized it but i see poor results after 2 months . After watching this video. Would my best option is to kill the grass, remove the rocks and add some good soil if i want a decent lawn? Edit: greetings from Mexico. Loved your content :)
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
Hello! 👋👋. Taking the rocks out is the best answer but you could also consider raising the lawn height with topsoil at least 2 to 3 inches, ideally want 8 or more inches though for good root development

@manccyclist Месяц назад
@LawnRight thanks...I've just scarified a 65% moss garden...now ready to put on lawn moss killer garden...probably need to aerate too.. Have grass and daisy left.. should I weedol before moss killer or wait till grass recovers ?
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
@@manccyclist hi. Technically no issues either way.. Personally I'd put the weedkiller on.. Let it dry then the iron can go on
@manccyclist
@manccyclist Месяц назад
@LawnRight I hand scarified with the wolf garten... moss looks like it was holding loads of surface water.. as much drier now... but lots of bare soil areas.. so not sure if i should I aerate before re seeding
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Месяц назад
@@manccyclist it certainly won't harm anything.. If you're going to do any seeding please forget about the weedkiller for 2 months

Great job. I’ve had moles quite a few times over the years. The damage they do is unbelievable. tried everything and absolutely nothing works, only to set traps in the ground and kill them, which I would not do. They usually move off after a few weeks,leaving behind their trails of destruction. I’ve come to realise that nice lawns and moles simply do not mix.
