4 Wheel Drive Articulated Utility Vehicle (homemade) 

Oh, there is so much to tell about that. The drive line is built in the 80's from what my dad could scavenge and modify. The transmission is from a Ford van, belt drive and tension-er for clutch, output to chain to a sprocket welded onto the drive shaft. Original hollow drive shafts we twisted off pulling disc through garden and grove and they were replaced with solid shafts from an old Minneapolis Moline combine which is also where the center U-joint came from. The trans axles are from the junkyard, don't know the make model but a matched set, they were torched apart and shortened and re-welded after the internal shafts were shortened and re-machined where necessary. Dad obsessed over getting the proportions just right and he worked on getting the width and wheelbase just right. The rims were also cut in half and widened with rolled steel. The hinge had been reworked a few times and was finally over engineered to the point that the ring welded on the top of the hinge pin shaft could and was used to lift the entire chassis, though the ring was meant as a means to remove the shaft with an overhead winch. In the end it ended up being quite a beast.

Thank you, but that is actually a 1929 Chevy 1 ton. My dad is a cabinet maker and he restored it. It takes a cabinet maker to restore those because of all the wood in the cab, the steering wheel, and spokes.

It is a lot like a PUG but much heavier as you can see. It was inspired by the Jacobsen UTV, other than that the design is completely my dad's brain child. Dad built that thing to get work done and we worked it. I'll see what I can do about posting more video of it. It will take time.
