Best daily driver that I've ever owned. I bought the WRX LTD in this gorgeous sapphire color...elegant. Price=very good. Old school driving fun + charm=smiling! I tested the Corolla R, Civic R, BMW 2 and even a used 911. V8 Mustang...been there done that. The huggy and softer LTD seats beat out the stiff Recaros for everyday. Not racing now/yet so TR is overkill. The sunroof is awesome on forest roads, which this handles like on rails in graveled turns. I get 33 hwy and 25 city. Dog access with 4 doors...geez, I love it.
Subaru of Japan and Subaru of America both need to stop playing with all of these trims of the WRX: Base, Premium, Limited, GT, TR, and now coming in 2025, the tS. The WRX has far more than enough trims, but it is not an STI. That's all their enthusiast based customers are asking for right now because that's the only trim that matters. They can bring all the special editions they want and extra trims, just as long as they're in STI format: Base STI, Premium STI, Limited STI, STI Type RA, STI S210, and STI Series White.
@@DragonKnightX12seriously i read the same thing but i cannot believe subaru. Toyota released a corolla GR awd 300 hp. So why no STI then ? I call Subaru bullshit
@@dominiclussier8810 Toyota has a much greater fleet average since they have so many efficient appliances. As well as the Corolla since the other versions of it are all economy appliances. Plus the GRC is only in Japan, US, and Australia. So it doesn't have too met the stricter regulations of Europe. I know EPA counts fleet avg and individual model avg, which probably isn't great for Subaru. But I'm probably betting it's others with stricter regulations like the European Union that's the problem.
Actually it could be Genius by Subaru taking away the STI then listening and watching the WRX Try to catch up making the Subie Community Really Crave the STI to a whole new level
Track ready? Without LSD it won't be a track weapon. Just check the latest comparison of the WRX TR vs a Corolla GR made by savagegeese. The TR proved to be a flop.
Rev matching is a gimmick. I double clutch myself and better than a robot. Each down shift is different and doing it manually is the fun of driving a manual. I have it in eh Bullitt, and it is OFF. In my WRX, I love the fact it’s not there,
Maybe WRX has charm because it DOESN'T have rev matching. I seriously wonder how many manual drivers would want rev matching if it was optional. Show me the handling and performance and forget the rest. Want some fake old school anybody? Or would you prefer real old school simplicity, and reliability with your exceptional handling and performance. I have a confession to make, I have been driving too fast for 60 years and I may be a bit old school myself.
Yea I don't think lacking a convenience feature adds charm. Lol My only gripe is Honda decides to bury the option to turn it off in their screen. I want new school, the only old school I want is the main car controls being physical buttons. Let me turn everything off when I want to do some spirited driving. Let me have the auto blip and adaptive cruise for when I'm tired and just want to focus on getting home. Now that prices are coming back to earth I'm probably gonna be going with the GR Corolla instead.
This is in my opinion, the best WRX configuration as far as you can get. I like the manual option and would pay for the upgrade exhaust. That Harmon sound system isn’t what I would want, but it wasn’t my choice anyhow. This is by far the best daily driver and has the best brakes of any of them.
all the extra addons but never a bump in HP or a option for the better 6speed sti trans a lot of people end up swapping to. Give us the new VB chassis with a dccd and sti 6 speed and these cars would be amazing. the new engine is already be amazing so far in the tuning world over the fa20,I just don't understand why the same crappy split case 6 speed since basically 2002 just added another gear is still the trans to offer.
Just like with Ford keeping around their crappy in house manual for the new Stang. I don't get it. Could make STI trans standard and have the diffs come in the higher trims if they need to save money.
Nah the base model is affordable and great for the money the base and the Elantra n are hard to beat for the money. 40 and above the the golf r is the only pick
