This 1984 Winnebego LeSharo (VIN WWBB14Y1EF300773) is a highly modified example that’s been fitted with an injected 350 SBC crate engine, locking Dana axles and Wilwood disc brakes for a dramatic upgrade over the old Renault running gear. All new interior appointments and electrics have been fitted, over 3,400 miles have been accumulated since work was completed, and the seller says that the rig runs and drives well even at highway speeds.
The living space has been fitted with all new appliances, while a new water pump and roof-mounted air conditioning unit have also been installed. The chassis and living quarters reportedly received all new wiring, and there’s no mention of any water leaks. Big chairs look comfy, but rob too much room and would be better replaced with some foldaway or automotive-type items.
The kitchenette features a sink, two-burner stovetop, fridge and microwave. There’s a good sized pantry and extra overhead storage as well. The full-width sleeping quarters are situated at the aft end of the cabin, and a toilet is equipped midway down the left wall.The original Renault 2.0 liter four has been ditched in favor of a GM 5.7 liter V8 backed by a heavy-duty auto transmission. Even base model Vortecs are good for 200 HP, giving more than a 150% power increase over the stock motor. There’s a Dana 70 out back, and a model 60 is slung under the front end.
No details on the transfer case are given. An oil change was recently completed, and the seller says about 3,400 miles have been covered since the rebuild was completed.
