Pin can't fall out once the two halves are together. Just make sure the float moves freely up and down. Thanks for the tip on emulsion tube metering holes.
I do have few parts carbs in my shed dont know if theres a good upper half without looking valve seats corrode or ware out. Another tip to prevent leaks is to put a tiny nylon washer onto the emulsion tube. I usually buy new carb from ISAVETRACTORS since rebuilds cost $40 new carb is $80. They're good carbs and they use viton o-ring to seal the emulsion tube. Did your rebuild kit come with brass needle seat insert by any chance?
