The ubermensch Space Marines make a super chapter (Grey Knights) to fight demons...the Sisters do it every day...then go and heal the population. Now that is real strength.
They mainly put down insurrections, and are usually executing the rebellious or heretical population at the behest of the ecclesiarchy. When they aren't doing that they are generally acting as monastic figures far removed from the public. Grey Knights actually defend the golden throne 24/7 from the daemons that spill out of the webway gate in the basement of the imperial palace. Not saying there aren't sisters doing the same but it's literally the whole point of the grey knights.

Last time she wanted to purchase new glasses, the lady at the reception told her that only her parents could take an appointment for her. She also frequently have to deal with teens trying to flirt with her in public places such as bus or shopping mails. As you can guess, entering in a bar is for her an epic quest. By the way, I started to date her when she was 18 and she had that same face. At the best people think she is 20 today. Fortunately for me, I'm 38 and people think I'm 24. The Imperium aren't very heroic by any stretch. They're an ultra-fascist theocracy who blow up entire planets over slight undesirables. There aren't really any heroes in the 40k world though. The setting kind of justifies fascism by making all of the alternatives equally evil or worse, which is uncomfortable but best not to think about. Bear in mind it is also sort of meant to be a satire/social commentary
They were recovering from their own successful attempt and dethroning from taking over the imperium. They didn’t really want to be in the lime light for a while while they did some house cleaning
