I have a experimental primaris successor chapter of the space wolves called The Ulfheadnar, these are one of Cawl’s attempts (if not the best) to create a good space wolves successor, even if they have proven to have only minor mutations and show an extraordinary rate of acceptance of the gene seed, they still fall into the Wulfen curse and they are incredible savage and animalistic, they even tempt to attack other imperial forces if they are threatened or if they are an obstacle. They are a far more violen and voceros version of the space wolves, that constantly creates problem and it only stills alive for they effectiveness, loyalty to the emperor an for the power and influence of Cawl

I'd advise steering clear of saying your Chapter/Legion comes from one of the lost Legions. That steps on way too many toes in the general lore of 40k. Best to have one that has a mysterious, lost or otherwise unknown founding. My closest Chapter "The Hellcats" emerged from the warp with no knowledge of their identities, almost as though they were summoned by the Emperor to fight against Chaos as nearly all blanks. "The Blood Hounds" are heavily hinted to be either Blood Angels, Space Wolves or much more closely loyalist War Hounds who's history goes back as far as the 3rd, 4th or 5th founding with rumours they were a loyalist shattered legion in the Horus Heresy. During the age of Apostasy the Imperium lost record of their founding and the Chapter remarked it was the Emperor's design that only he should know of their origins... while it's heavily hinted they're still aware who their Primarch was. "Savinators" (created from a conglomeration of Ultramarine, Imperial Fist and Dark Angels geneseed) are tasked with testing Experimental Weaponry in battle while ensuring Imperial Galactic balance; preventing the Tau/Tyranids from encroaching further on Terra or Chaos from the Eye of Terror reaching the East. "Fortressers" are Black Templar who have been ousted from the Chapter after they were humbled and now Crusade to Fortify worlds susceptible to invasion before moving to the next conflict. They're styled between Disciplined Musketeers and Medieval Knights. The "Codex Guards" are simply how I think the Ultramarines should be. A Chapter that forces the Codex Astartes to work in all circumstances and prevails (of course having little imagination in their tactics). And lastly "The Honey Bees" are a joke Chapter that just point out everything in the 40K universe that makes no sense.

I plan on making a chapter that is a blend of DA and SW, they focus primarily on the hunt for the fallen but their appearance is a lot like the SW, a lot of armor customization and their home is a world where the inhabitants turned towards the old Celtic religions, with the chapter kinda adopting it into the way the chapter is run

This may be a bit off topic but I was thinking of making my own necron character who awoke from his slumber to find his tomb world raided with nothing valuable but his warscythe and reanimation orb. He scours the galaxy salvaging what he can to rebuild his dynasty and unify the necron empire to fight as one body rather than independent cell. Any suggestions on what I can add or improve?

When the Primaris Marines models launched, I took the opportunity to start a custom chapter call the Lion guard, who gene-seed comes from Lion El Johnson himself & not the Dark Angels chapter. (which they see as dishonorable for not purging the galaxy of the Fallen & restoring the Primach to his proper state) They are fanatical protectors of the legacy of there Primach & spend lives crusading in his name on the their battle Bardge the Lion's Pride. Their colors are Green, Gold & Black & prefer close combat with flamers & power weapons.

I know this is an older episode but I just caught it. Decades ago I had an idea for a chapter that only ever got as far as the drawing board. I am coming back to 40K and thought it was time to build that chapter. I would love to see more focused videos on this process. How to design characters that pop? How to handle specialized or unique units? How to handle off-the-wall chapter features? Just to name a few.

@OneMindSyndicate, wow I'm going through some videos and trying to find me some ideas on how to create my own custom Astartes chapter. Still trying to figure it out. I'm creating a custom chapter that's going to use the rules of the Deathwatch (they're allies of the a certain Inquisitor that I'm also creating lore for), and they use human auxillaries (even though this is highly frowned apon) for certain tasks that they can waste a valuable marine on, example driving tanks or transports. Thanks again for these awesome videos, and if you have a suggestion on a solid place for me to post up some of the lore that I've been working on it'd be appreciated.

If I wanted to create a chapter that's composed of mechanized infantry, tanks, air, and who uses hit and run/lightning war tactics, from which legion should this chapter come from. Also, can I include 3 ork kommandos and say that their sanctioned because they helped take a city controlled by a heavily entrenched csm warband during one of the black crusades?
