Fact: Ballistically .40S&W defeats 9mm, creates a larger wound channel, less need for follow up shots that could endanger other people behind your target. The only thing 9mm has is less recoil and thats for people that cant hold a firearm correctly and steady so they complain about recoil.
@@ryanranard5187 Umm yes !! lol On average, the comparable weight .40 S&W when compared to similar weight 9mm (light, medium, or heavy) has about 100 extra ft-lbs of energy unless you have +p 9mm or unless you’re comparing substandard .40 to premium 9mm, or comparing a heavier weight .40 to lighter 9mm. Let’s take Federal ammo, the Gold Standard for 9mm. 124gr HST with 364ft-lbs of muzzle energy@1150 ft/sec is the middle weight 9mm, Vs 165gr HST with 468ft-lbs of muzzle energy@1130ft/sec which is the middle weight for .40 S&W. What is 468-364 again? Over 100ft-lbs difference. Don’t talk out your ass when you don’t know the facts. 🫠
The problem with 40s&w is that most manufacturers (glock included) stuff 40s&w in a 9mm frame instead of building a 40s&w handgun from the ground up. This leads to early failure
.40 s&w is my favorite and the ideal cartridge caliber, but 180gr was always too heavy for the .40 s&w, great for the 10mm auto though, between 135gr minimum and 165gr maximum parameters is best, with 155gr/150gr bullet weight being ideal!
I like the 165gr @ 1,175 ft/s Hornady Critical Defense (500 ft-Lb's).... I also like the 60gr @ 2,000 ft/s Liberty Civil Defense (530 ft-Lb's). Slices right through level 3a vests and car doors etc etc..
@@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 the underwood 135 gr nosler and 155 gr xtp’s hit 588 ft lbs from a glock 27 and 675 ft lbs from a Beretta 96A1 4.9” barrel, they are insane!! AZ AIRGUNNER videos vs .357 sig, search “.40 vs .357 sig underwood” and the long barrels one was from Dec 15 2023 and the subcompacts was from January 4th 2024. The Underwood .357 sig 124 gr nosler got like 548 ft lbs from the Glock 33 and 640 ft lbs from a Glock 31. A little unfair with the Glock 31 being 0.4” shorter than the Beretta, but it still lost the energy battle while both had 3.4” barrels.
@@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 but I have about 5 boxes of those 135 gr noslers. I want to get some of the 155 gr xtp’s. I also have 4 boxes of the civil defense 2,000 fps ones. I then have for my majority of “stock ammo” 8 50 round boxes each of 165 gr HST and 180 gr HST. One of my glock 23 mags is the civil defense, another is 135 gr noslers, and another is a mixture of 180 gr gold dots and the HST’s. I only have one box of the gold dots
@Ethan Mac well hold on there..there's always room for a healthy conversation..we're both gun guys I assume...so tell me your relationship with the 40..becouse I've been looking into getting a smith&wesson sdve40 or g22 gen 3....but love how accurate I am with my glock 26 ..and I love the predictability of my 1911s 45 recoil.....how would the 40 benefit me? Honest question
@@istartedajoke1704 it’s between the 9 and 45 obviously it does have extra energy whether or not it’ll make a huge difference it’s better than carrying a .45 because more capacity and less recoil if you get some 40 + p it can contend with 45

The "off switch" is a capillary concussion. 9mm. is usually not going to achieve the blood pressure spike required for instant incapacitation. Your, "five shots to the sternum" is a fantasy scenario. 135/155grn. @ 1350/1450fps .40 cal bullets easily match 357mag/sig. energy levels. The one shot stop is a reality. The FBI has an agenda and a narrative to push; it has no relation to 9mm. effectiveness or ineffectiveness.
40sw.- 35,000psi 45acp.- 20,000. Hold up a 38spl next to a 9mm.as well. You would swear that the 38spl. must be "more powerful. Hope you understand that 135/155grn. 40sw. is the most efficient short barrel pistol cartridge you can buy. 357sig is the most efficient 4.25" on the market.

Inside 25 yards .40 kills with one shot WAY more times than 9mm does .. 50 cent got shot 9 times with a 9mm.... I don't know anyone who got shot 9 times with a .40 and here to tell the story do you? If you are carrying 40, it's because someone told you to, or you are trying to hang on to what you did in the military or law enforcement 20 years ago. Today, both Army and Marine core issued pistols are 9mm. If you look at most police reports of shootings in the past couple of years, they are using 9mm. You can't beat it for the weight, capacity, price, and the availability

Somehow .40 looks so much bigger when 9mm don’t look all that much bigger than a .32 caliber 🤔 and the size difference is about the same, 1.2mm for .40 and 9mm, and 1.06mm for 9mm and .32 acp. (.40 and 10mm are actually 10.2mm 😱) Actually, 9mm somehow looks smaller around than 7.62 x 39 🤦♂️ lol. Even though it’s 1.38mm bigger around
Forever the loser. You get 2 more rounds and that's it. The .40 has at least 500 ft-lb's to the 9mm's 385 ft-lb's... The only 9mm I'd consider is the .357 SIG

@@cbg482 I already have a .40 S&W pistol. Springfield Armory XD40. I do want to get another one and throw in a .357 SIG barrel. For semi automatics I favor.40 S&W followed by .357 SIG then .45 ACP. I have a TISAS 1911 in .45 ACP. I use +P in it for carry ammo. speed gold dot and Hornady Critical Duty.

I’ll take my chances with the .40 against bears and other large predators than your weak 9mm argument.. “ShoT PLaceMent” most shootouts are 5-15seconds of pure burst not you upping your 9 lining up your target and plugging its almost always grab and run your gun🤦🏽♂️

The point you’re trying to make is not groundbreaking there are in-depth ballistic charting and documentation. It’s ironic that 9 mm is the smallest that you’re presenting but is just neck and neck in performance.

@ethanmac639 the 40 and 9mm ballistics are not worlds apart.the 40 cal in standard form regarding bullet weight and pressure hits a bit harder than a 9mm but there's some 9mm rounds that will surpass a 40 caliber in performance.
