#COVID19 swab test: check. Pre-operations vehicle maintenance: check. Table-top and wargaming exercises: check.
These were just some of the protocols put in place to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of The Singapore Army’s 40th Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment (40 SAR)’s recent Battalion Mission Exercise.

Only in US, it is considered polite to say "thank you for your service" to all servicemen. Not saying that phrase is taboo.. to see it copied in singapore context is so lame. Because we only have 2 types of servicemen.. regulars (in it for thr $$) & ns (bo bian)
@lmatthew
@lmatthew 3 года назад
Oh, just copy US culture thats what u mean lol. Ang moh people do it, we have to replicate. US thank their servicemen because they have been in countless wars.. losing lives. Singapore's only so called human loses are SIR unit ambushed by indonesian commandos. So yeah thank you for your service
@lmatthew

English is a language. But how you use it is upto the individual. For an example, u like to use degoratory words to win an argument. Thats your choice. Its the context of how the language is used. And the context i am referring to is copying a US culture thats totally irrelevant to sg.

Once Armour; Always Armour. From a trooper of 40SAR 2ND mono intake (SEP 1992 - MAR 1995) Time flies... year 2021 now.. GREETINGS to all ARMOUR personnel especially to those from 40SAR ( 2nd mono intake) & 425 SAR!

Yes, "Once Armour, Always Armour!" the slogan during that time. I was from the Mar 1990 to Jun 1992 Mono intake, first 3 months was BMT at Nee Soon BMTC.

Lee Sung Cheng?? He was my CSM at Alpha Company in 1991/June 1992, a very strict but fair Encik then. The whole company was quite fearful of him then, cos he could be quite fierce and had a very loud voice!

It’s so different comparing American Bootcamp training alongside with SAF

@SpecJack15
@SpecJack15 3 года назад
@@woowenjun550 I've witnessed U.S. Marines in San Diego before when I visited their Naval Air Station some years ago. Of course Marines being the smallest branch of the U.S. military, they enforce really tough standards (kinda like how S'poreans are kiasi, Marines don't want to lose out to their big Army and Navy brothers). The level of equipment which the Marines get is roughly equivalent to what SAF gets as well. Main difference is that U.S. is all-volunteer and SG is majority conscript + minority volunteer.

@@llllllllllllllllllllllllIIIIl1 Actually some vehicles r held under SBW (Supply Base West), and we facilitate the HOTO (handing over & taking over) process of armoured vehicles for different units including 40 SAR. I know this as I am an AFV operator from SBW and I have done numerous HOTOs with 40 SAR.
