Still something. We don't pay for all that so we should be happy with what we get. There is no "right for weekly xyz". Thanks for what you do mate and hi from Austria!
So if you were to paint an Ork "Psyker" yellow would he cause a bigger Boom? you gotta love the Orks for being so hilarious in the batshit grimdarkness of 40k.
ThePhil2801 the orks remind us that 40k used to be have a cheeky sense of humor that balanced out the grimdarkness and they also retain their undeniably 80s metal DNA that courses through 40k.
That picture of a jingley ork... Why am I thinking of “Jingle WAAAAGH!! jingle WAAAGGH!!! Warboss needs his Klaw, Paint them Red, it goes fast, And Thrakka leads his WAAAAGH!!!” Anybody?
"Orkz is made fer fightin’! An’ dis is da fastest way to get to da fight! Now get in da Warp rift, ya grot! Two of da last three made it throo! Gork, I’ll showz ya-it’z safe!" - Final Words of Weirdboy Gazgrug
There is a distinct difference between Catachan and Australia: In Australia, everything wants to kill you. On Catachan, everything wants to MURDER you.
I personally think it's more likely that the Old Ones didn't plan for the weirdboys. They made the Eldar, they already had a psyker army, but they were too... fragile and few so they made the orcs to make up for their numbers and physical strengh.
It's hard t tell. Orks were made to fight necrons, and psykers are an EXTREMELY potent tool against them; also, they possibly were more controllable back in the day (as these orks made the orks lead by the Beast look like grots); that, or their unstability was considered acceptable considering how orks function.
"the voices in my head go "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" LOL Genius. Also maybe the Old farts installed the weird boys into ork society for one the purpose of fighting "psychic or psychic like attacks" as well population control. I don't think the old ones expected them to come up with the copper wiring rods haha, i mean that was some fast tinkin by a really smaaart smart boy.The newer WeirdBoyz still have bells they are less obvious but i imagine still do the trick.
That is the thing, half of psychic attacks do nothing to Orks as it is. I mean Ork are virtually immune to morale damage, you cannot make their aim get worse, they cannot experience fear on the battlefield. I mean the only psyker attacks that work on them are lightning and the kind...which to them is just another weapon being used on them so why worry?
As an Asperger, I feel strangely connected to a Weirdboy. Inflow of too many things which worsens the more people are around you until it all blows up - yup.
Classic autism here, and indeed it sounds familiar -- small difference being, of course, that when we get too much input, we break down in some way limited to ourselves (usually) whilst weirdboyz might explode or cause any range of weirdness unto his environment Also: WAAAAGH
Interestingly I do fell connected to although im not an Asperger just a really easily stressed individual with a bucket load of ANGER-managment problems. Waaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh
Question: As far as I get it, Weirdboyz don't tap directly into the warp but second-hand via the Orc's gestaltfeld. Does this make Commissar Yarrick a human weirdboy????
Yes, and humans have been noted to tap into that gestalt field. In one battle between guardsmen and orkz, the guardsmen were running low on ammo, so one picked up an ork shoota, noticed it was a pipe tied to a box full of random bits of metal, pointed it at an ork, said bang, and watched in awe as the ork about to dome his head in fell over dead with a large smoking hole in its head. The guards began to point their lasguns at the orkz and pretend to shoot, which worked until the orkz started chanting that they were tanks.
I burst into laughter at 'ed bang part :D. New rule, don't try to work while listening to Warhammer lore videos, especially the Ork related ones... shit I'm still laughing
You have no idea how much I've missed your channel, especially your Ork videos. As an Ork player your videos on the greenskins always bring a smile to my face.
once a basic understanding of Orkish lore, Primal instincts,, hierarchy and politics, or lack thereof are kept in the Forefront of our minds. This seriously becomes one of the funniest RU-vid videos I've ever seen. Absolute genius bro.
Can we pause for a moment to reflect that Orks are so freaked out by Weirdboyz that they actually take PRECAUTIONS?! Arch's channel....gender equality ad. WTF.
channel content creator has no say in the ads that go on the channel. plus even demonitized videos and channels have ads put on them. the content creator gets no money. hence adblock patreon are advocated by youtube content ceators these days. they get more from 2 dollar patreon or maker support monthly pledge then the revenue from a hundred views with ads playing.
I simply adore the orks. They are just so brutishly hillarious, and playing orks is always a blast (pun intended) in all the WH40K games! A'ight boyz, letz git stuck in dat' fight. WOAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
You mentioned them during the Tuska Daemon-Killa! video. | 1:48 - It's what makes their tech work and what gives colours meaning (e.g. red wanz go fasta) basically a "WAAAAAGH! energy sponge". | 4:55 - Not the heavy metal kind? | 6:44 - Can't really miss them in that. | Goblin? Don't you mean Gretchin or Grot? Also...don't you mean "Minderz". | 10:23 - Neither that, nor Orks have that. | 11:24 - It's agony, by Ork standards...they hate that, although Slaaneshi cultists like it. | That's why they're weird, they stay AWAY from battles! | 13:46 - It's the Ork definition of "friendly fire", it's friendly if it doesn't hit you. | 15:20 - They're sentient weapons. | 20:23 - Isn't that the planet that has an Imperial Guard Regiment full of Rambos?
Now I really, really want to write a short story about how a minor Xenos race attacked and conquered an outlying Imperium planet that was too insignificant to really matter to the wider Imperium and its neighbors were unwilling/unable to go liberate it. For hundreds of years, the Xenos enslaved the surviving human population, and grew fat on the riches of the world. A few of their scholars pointed out, somewhat worryingly, that there was no evidence that humans came from this planet, and they were probably a long lost colony of a greater empire. The others always laughed them into silence. "Nonsense," they'd say. "There's no possible way such an empire would not retaliate in hundreds of years for the loss of a colony. We are safe! If what you are saying is true, then this planet must have been long forgotten!" But the Imperium had not forgotten. A high ranking member of the subsector administratum noted that that planet had gone dark centuries ago and had never been reclaimed. He also noted that there was a fleet-based chapter of Adeptus Astartes nearby, and penned a missive to their chapter master informing him of the situation and implying that it would be a good pit stop to keep his men fighting fresh. The next thing the Xenos know, the sky overhead is rent with purple lightning as horrifyingly huge vessels emerge from the Warp. They are big, so much bigger than the tiny System Defense Monitors that their fleet had destroyed all those centuries ago, but were undoubtedly human; bearing the same iconography and overall design. With a flash of weapons fire, the Xenos fleet is crippled in the opening salvo, as reentry pods begin raining from the heavens. All around then, they can hear the human slaves begin to chant, a chant that persisted through their blasted religion despite the Xenos' best efforts to stamp it out. "Astartes! Astartes!" And looking up at the contrails descending dupon the planet, they know the truth. The humans' Emperor was real. And His Angels of Death were descending at long last.
Two Fridays of HH? Oh Whatever Shall I do...Anyways, Interesting stuff. The Orks with their WAGH energy act like a filter of the warp, allowing the Weridboyz to channel the warp without the inherent taint of Chaos... I...I need to write a Librarian about how good an idea like this would be.
Yes please! Give us a full travel report about the stunning beauty of Catachan, its fascinating forests, its fluffy critters, its peaceful populus. Come to Catachan - where paradise is near.
Well Arch you really are too good in describing . That manual for handler how to use Weirdboy and relese him on enemy , when he is properly "CHARGED UP" got me really hard laught . Great video just to brighten my day after work.
Great video as always Arch. If I may be so bold as to make a request though? In your next fantasy lore video, could you talk about cities of the warhammerverse? We hear a lot of names and see much of their unique buildings in the total war game, but we never really get an in depth understanding. The colleges of magic in Altdorf could be very fascinating to learn more about too.
Stand-up comedy in the Third Millennium -- humourous anecdotes and witty repartee Stand-up comedy in the 41st Millennium -- A camp full of Weirdboyz with 'splody hedz
Horus heresy? Oh no, not that! How could you possibly punish us like that! Please spiritual liege don’t subject us too some of the most interesting lore in all of 40K anything but that, have you no heart?
Fielding Weirdboyz sounds less orky but rather like something the Skaven would weaponize: unstable, potentially killing a great chunk of your own army, barely under control but sooo rewarding if it works.if.
holly shit i came here wen i got the notification and already 113 likes and 970 views arc me boy you are doing very well may it take a long time for your head to go BOOM
Hey Arch! Long time fan, 1st time commenter. Do you have a time frame for getting to the lore on the remaining Primarchs? Your Night Haunter lore telling was amazing! I've been looking forward to the others!
Random thought. With Orks being enthusiastic for fighting and all that, and really not too particular about the reasons for fighting, would there be any chance of a group of Orks deciding to fight in the name of the Emperor, and what would be the probable result?
