One of the biggest reasons why I consider Sanguinius one of my favorite Primarchs is because of how he was the only one who was willing to give Konrad Curze another chance and forgive him. Also love how Sanguinius was one of the most powerful Primarchs but also one of the nicest. The way he was naturally kind to people and could bring out the best in someone but also be one of your worst nightmares if you pissed him off. Plus the fact that he was a literal angel is another heap of bonus points to him.

Sanguinus, what a sad tale. I feel like with more time he could’ve helped his brothers, But in the grim-dark universe there is no room for kindness and forgiveness. Only war.
My favorite legion as I connect with them on a personal level in terms of my own issues and flaws that I have to wrestle daily though not as extreme. The Noble heroes with htw tragic curse that threatens their very honor and sanity and yet they still fight for what they believe in. Currently making an army of them. Aside from lore, love their aesthetis and theme. But most of all how they wage war which is so me. Hit em hard, fast, where it hurts the most, and don't stop till they are broken amd move on to the next target.

Great video for a great legion! Sanguinious indicated that he has had to perform this service before. Additionally, they had an SOP for those falling to the red thirst. It had happened before. Raldoron was called a killer by Russ, quite a compliment. CPT Amit rocks. He reminds me of Tommy Robinson. I love your transitions to the next video.
As one of the few Luna wolves fans out there in the 40k community I must say that if I had to choose any other legion and subsequent chapter it would most defiantly be the Blood Angles. I would willingly fight and die for the memory of daddy Sanguineous.

Oculus Imperia covers a lot of pre-Sanguinius Legion history. :) Also, I'm reasonably sure the mutants too were divided into tribes... The council of Nikea is covered in 'A Thousand Sons' & 'Prospero Burns'. I'm pretty sure it was some prelude to the Black Rage is what drove them to victory on Cygnus ; the Red Thirst comes from the Liberal use of their omophagea organ, the Legion is said to have been infamously renown to have feasted on the carcasses and the blood of the fallen of each battle.
The cursed sons is a fitting name for the Blood Angels. Sucks that their isn't much info on their past before Sanguineous but this kinda makes me wonder...Was Sanguineous the cause of the Red Thirst (Since his death did cause the Black Rage)or...Ok I have some experience with working with the Ordo Theoreticus so I have a rather interesting theory. What if Blood Angels were actually cursed by Slaanesh herself due to their rise in fame? I mean Slaanesh Daemons seem rather interested in the Blood Angels for some odd reason so it wouldn't be unheard of... Does this mean the Blood Angels are in greater danger than we suspected? owo

Tactica Imperialis blood drinkers. chapter master is sometimes granted a vision instead of the angel's death, he is given a vision of one of their chapter masters temptation of a greater demon of tzeench. they resist the red thirst and black rage by indulging their thirst often during secret ceremonies.
Batmat_YT I love Sanguinius, but I prefer that he's dead for the sake of the plot. Also it was Yvraine who resurrected him, the armour is the life support
what they could do is conforming that the Sanguinor is the angelic part of Sanguinos and the black rage is his rage and anger... Sanguinius would stay dead since Horus not only slain his brother but also shattered his soul into thousand of pieces with the Sanguinor and the black rage beeing small part of his soul.
I like to think that, and not the emperor was to blame for the red thirst...to be more specific, when a minion of khorne wounded Sanguinius, the trap was spun. Sanguinius' death exacerbating it, hence the black rage...
I think the red thirst is due to sanguinious anger which he holds* back, but his sons don't have his temperament to the same level, and the black rage is him at his utmost peek anger and it was passed down to his sons so the flaw is more of a psychic flaw due to sanguinious mental state itself.
Ah Sanguinus, proving once again the Konrad Kurze is a total asshat. He offered him everything, full redemption, full forgiveness, acceptance as their brother, all he had to do was stand with them and everything could have been right. But he refuses, as having to take that mercy would have necessitated him admitting he was wrong. That people were not naturally savage, evil beasts. That his actions were not in fact justified. Also... I liked Meros the Apothecary. Even if he had the kinda contrived, silly crossover between 30k and 40k. You forgot one more person who overcome the Black Rage, which was the main character of the 40k Blood Angels novels. I forget his name, terrible at it. But if you pick up the Blood Angels Duology it covers his story. Lots of little sequel short stories. Including the aforementioned 30k and 40k crossover. Which covers said character recovering from the Black Rage in this incubation chamber thing the Blood Angels use to induct Aspirants into the Chapter, at the same time Meros is recovering from Bondage Elf poisoning in the same exact relic in 30k (They apparently, somehow, also shared the same gene-seed). Meros's point in the timeline for that crossover actually takes place right before Signus Prime. The recovery he was doing at the start of the novel and the battle against the Bondage Eldar that the Comic Book Artist Remembrancer is recording about him ties in. Not a major thing. Just thought it was neat. And it was kinda funny to see a 30k Blood Angel and a 40k Blood Angel meet each other in some psychic dreamscape and basically scream "HERETIC!" at each other before having to get over it and help each other with their own demons. Edit: Thanks to Alan Smith for reminding me his name was Rafen. Sergeant Rafen who overcame the Black Rage, and met Apothecary Meros in the crossover. And in Rafen's story it was revealed any Blood Angel who tried to use the Spear of Tolesto would be thrown into the grips of the Black Rage. The Primarch's use and connection with it during the Siege of Terra triggering that flaw.
You hit the nail on the head with Konrad. Shows how nice Sanguinus was though. I doubt any of the other loyalist Primarchs would have given Konrad Kurze that offer.
if sanguinius returned next. the sanguinor would be in the warp,wandering the shadows of the hellscape,a figure of dusk and starlight stood before him,it knew it was the emporor,at least partially. but the shard spoke "return to your sons my angel. your brother needs you,and your angels,need your mercy more then ever." upon the world that mephiston and dante fights... mephiston glows with a glow of darkening shadow. but the light came. light poured through the dark shadow of night. and standing upon the ground was someone only described as an angel. his form in golden armor,his eyes had ones of peace and yet fury. the blood angels of the death company woke from madness,as the other angels were geniuly elated in his return. armed with the spear of telesto, sanguinius stood to his enemys. while guilaman would soon find out,the blood angels would fight along side the great angel,a storm of angelic and grim fury rejoice,o mighty son of ultramar,for dawn now comes for thee.
Blood Angels are among my favorite Space Marines ever. I hope you'll do Imperial Fists, Space Wolves, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Dark Angels, Blood Ravens, Adeptus Custodes, Storm Troopers and other Imperial Guard regiments (Cadian Shock Troops, Armageddon Steel Legion, etc) soon! Alternately, if Sanguinius didn't die and he would come back like how Roboute returned, how will things play out?
That is very hard to know, as we may not have even had a Codex Astartes in the first place if you assume Guilliman died instead. If he hadn't, then I suspect Sanguinius would have been in a similar series of events, just with more murder and humanity.
Great job in exploring and explaining the Lore of 40k. I would, however, suggest slowing your narration just a bit and perhaps improving the sound quality of the recorded narration. Otherwise great job!
the black rage is a gift and a curse. i remember a match against orks. i transported death company of 12 marines in a stormraven right infront of a group of boyz/bosses (whatever, orks looks the same to me). it turned out well XD i would really love to know more about terran born Blood Angels. was Ral a terran born?
Why didn't you mention the Blood Angels Civil War? That's a pretty big event for them, especially since Sergeant Rafen had to kill his Chaos corrupted brother Arkio and also defeated a Lord of Change by himself...Yes, you heard me, A Blood Angels Sergeant killed a Lord of Change BY HIMSELF! lol
Thanks for reminding me his name was Rafen. Rafen might have earned a mention in that Apothecary Meros and Rafen actually had a crossover short story. So they "met" each other in a psychic coma dreamstate sort of thing. During the time Rafen was overcoming the Black Rage and Meros was overcoming some Bondage Eldar Poisoning (Right before Fear to Tread) if I correctly recall.
Question for the Vile, Wretched, Sexually Depraved, No Good, Very Bad Tau; I'm looking for the lost Primarchs in the warp, where should I start looking?

Great video, as always, but surely Lorgar is the second most psychically powerful primarch after Magnus. Poor old Lorgar never gets the credit he deserves.
Is he? I thought Lorgar was a Sorcerer? Which is a weird distinction to make as the games never really showcase it but the lore does. E.g.: the "Enuncia" that Dan Abnett's been pushing lately is Sorcery. It's magic words that if anyone at all (Psyker or not) says them will have a specific warp magic based effect that it inflicts on reality. Where as a Psyker is more like someone just born with the mystical equivalent of a third arm. They just use it. It doesn't have to have any formal training, knowledge, particular, exacting rituals and actions, etc. It's a fine distinction but I believe Lore Wise Lorgar is a "Sorcerer" meaning he's not a psyker at all but just knows stuff that if anyone knew, they could make warp shit happen. Sorcery of course in lore often being far more dangerous than Psykery as you are basically directly asking a warp entity to intercede and do something on your behalf rather than hoping to just steal and shape power without attracting notice like a Psyker would. So more or less Lorgar (And maybe Magnus) fight for most powerful Sorcerer. Magnus and Sanguinus fight for most powerful Psyker. And due to the combination of both Sorcerous knowledge and psychic might, Magnus wins "Most powerful mystic".

Hmm, while sorcery being based on magic words to summon warp entities does tie in with both the Word Bearers obsession with holy words and bits of Betrayer (when he shows Angron the power he has by saying the daemon name), Lorgar does also throw rocks around using traditional psychic force when he's looking for the buried Angron. He taught Abadon daemonancy, the summoning of daemons, which again backs your idea, but he uses his own psychic weapons (as well as his awesome crozius) when he defeats the bloodthirster Anggrath in the Aurelian novella. Sanguinis also fought a bloodthirster and used (as I remember it) tradtional, physical force to beat it on Signus Prime, but he might have restrained his own psychic powers because of the decree. Lorgar does have some standard psychic powers and has used them in battles. Maybe he isn't that powerful (which makes me sad, I love Lorgar) and so has added to them by learning and becoming the master of the magic words of sorcery. It's a distinction I'd never considered before so thanks for pointing it out; I'll have to do some more reading and re-reading before I can say anything definite.
