Great video. About the same results I would have expected as well. Love the 410 by the way! Use 12 gauge for ducks/Turkey, switch to 20g for dove/quail and now 410 is my favorite for shooting clays.
Hi.I also like to shoot 410 caliber. And I equip 410 caliber cartridges myself. There is a video about it on my channel. We have a lot of things in RUSSIA for equipping 410 caliber cartridges.
I like the idea of a pump-action .410, but I can't get over how handy and small the single-shots are. The .410 doesn't get much more effective in a full-length barrel. Shotguns reach their highest velocity pretty close to 20". I think I read that the velocity gets LOWER after about 40" or so. Good to see the gel test. I'd be interested to see how well #4 shot (not buckshot) would do. It's about 4 times the mass, so probably, uh, deeper? You get about 70 pellets in the .410 if my Google Fu is on point.
@@professorpewpuew I have a Judge with a 3" chamber and 3" barrel. I get a little more velocity out of the 2.5" shells or a heavier load. I've got the PDX-1 3" shells loaded which is 4 lead disks and 16 BB pellets. I think that five 000 pellets might be a better choice or even the four 000 pellet 2.5" load. I'll have to chronograph those. I don't feel UNDERGUNNED with the .410 Judge, even though the armchair experts discount it vs. just using .45 Colt. My problem is that .45 Colt has a LOT of penetrating power through walls.
