42 Amazing Landmarks All Over the World in FS 2020 [4K]

This time we take a look at 42(!) of the most famous man made landmarks in the world and their representation in Microsoft's new Flight Simulator 2020. Most of them got special attention by the developers and feature custom made, high quality models which is a good thing to see. Some that I wanted to include are missing in the world of MSFS though, like Mount Rushmore and Machu Picchu for example.
It took lots of time to capture all those places and create the video, so I hope you enjoy your virtual sightseeing tour around the world :)

I like playing this game alot I always visit Orlando because of Walt Disney World and Anaheim because of Disneyland and also Las Vegas where I lived for 9 years

This video depicts precisely why I bought a real BOSS of a new computer and MSFS Flight Simulator! I greatly appreciate the work you have done to produce this exceptional video. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Now for me to learn to do something similar.......I can get takeoff in the C172 and land it. I was very intrigued with the many airplanes that you used, and that made your video even that much more interesting. Damn good job!!!

Thank you. I was feeling disappointed about some obvious lacks (Obvious icons incomplete/water levels and roads and some bridges) but you have balanced the ledger. It is a vast improvement and will only get better. I'm working through the list, using Google Maps coords. Some great views.

Awesome video.maybe in future videos you can put a nearest airport ID to the places you are displaying so these areas would be easier to find. BTW the building @10:20 is sweet.

Good vid. I'll check out these locations in the coming weeks. Re the Sydney Opera House, the rendition of Sydney Harbour Bridge is very poor. You can download a realistic one from the free sectionof the Simviation site.

Thank you very much for this vid. How can anybody ever get tired of seeing these sights from MSFS2020 around the world? I’ve never been much a flight sim guy, but at 54 i am really enjoying just flying around and then crash/landing haha. Oh yeah, ‘LOL’ must DIE in my lifetime...i’m must get that into every comment i write on the interwebz.

@@AwareLife Have the same in my Xbox version. MSFS doesn't manage bridges and rivers very well. Watch the end of this video in London. Half the items on the Thames (including the bridges) are under water!!! :-)

Sydney, Australia reporting in. G'day mates! Opera House was nice. But... Sydney has TWO famous landmarks, almost considered as a pair. The Sydney Harbour Bridge was totally missing. Also, the Sydney tower, MLC building and the new casino, which already dominates its section of the skyline, are all missing. When looking beyond the Opera House... disappointing. But I'll still play the game of course!

Yes I agree, many landmarks missing in default MSFS. But there are already addons available for Harbour Bridge and Sydney Tower as well.

I am building a computer just for this Sim. Just need a graphics card now. Any suggestions. :) Been looking at it on utube for ages. The first flight sim I had was just a line as the horizon back in the 80`s. :)

For 'High-end' graphics my new Radeon RX590 8 GB does the job pretty well. You can switch up one notch to the max 'Ultra' when you're at altitude, or not taking off/landing at high detail airports.

Kind of, it uses Bing ortho imagery and some algorithms to create all the 3D buildings and trees.

Do you think Grand Theft Auto will ever input a detail map like MFS did? If not GTA, would love to see this on any game in future (PC or Playstation) whereby we can not just fly but walk and drive around the world. Imagine walking around your home/city with real time weather and even more, IN Virtual Reality! My guess is the 2030's we might see this technology evolve in a game. Seems we are so close since we already have MFS in 2020. That would be the most epic open world game IMO of all time.

That would truly be amazing, who knows what the future will bring regarding new technology for gaming. For now though, the detail of city photogrammetry at close distance is too low, so the devs ned to build their cities on their own, including GTA ;)

Some the graphics are messed up. This is why you need a pretty powerful PC to run the simulator properly.

What video editor did you use? What size videos were you capturing with Shadowplay, which is same as on my computer. I haven't figured out how to set up 4K as yet. My computer and monitor are capable, but my knowledge is not as yet. I have most of my graphics at Ultra, but I feel your videos are displaying a lot more realism than I have attained so far.

For 4K resolution, make sure that in your OS, the resolution is set to 3840x2160, which is 4K. That should also be setup in the simulator of course. In the ShadowPlay recording settings, I chose "Use in-game resolution" and 60Hz, Medium quality I think (otherwise file sizes get super huge). For the video editing, I use Hitfilm Express. Cheers

the most beautiful game ever build I think but in this particular video its almost like a demonstration of textures gone wrong. Bridges seem problematic. Cities where everything is modeled the system doesn't seem to understand a train station.(köln) And in Paris the side of the Seine boats are underwater and cars drive on the river.The bridges are not visible. I see trees in a super yacht(new york), cars disappearing where roads arent flat.The boats all are under water. Like all rivers are full of shipwracks. Cant they program recognition software for boats on water so they can generate 3D structures in the water? Waterfalls seem difficult as well. Some physics engine to generate accurate flowing water maybe? Strange errors. Is it due to low video settings or maybe real texture errors/bad programming?

My game's settings aren't the issue. For the land/water transition they're using so called "water masks", that's why the photoreal imagery extends some more meters into the water and all the boats are flat and are fading out. I don't think that will get improved over time. The rest (missing bridges etc.) are problems of the rendering engine which somehow fails to draw those objects. Very annoying indeed, especially close to such famous landmarks as the Eiffel Tower.

4K resolution, High-End settings preset with some settings decreased to Medium (Texture Synthesis, Water Waves, Reflections), Bloom and DoF Off. Usually around 30FPS, in rural areas up to 40. PC specs in the description.

Ok, pretty. However, try flying around Devil's Tower. No, it's not man-made, but it is a landmark. An important one. And a beautiful one. Until FS2020 decided it has a pointed spire top instead of a flat table top. I looks like a natural version of London's Shard. For every one thing FS2020 gets right, there's at least one thing it gets wrong. So glad I tested this thing out for a lousy buck on XPASS because this thing is still a beta. Whether or not you choose to admit that to yourself is on you.

For fan made stuff we are never that harsh on RU-vid. Many of us would have been appreciative actually. Any stuttering in that respect would be considered less than important than the subject matter and indeed the incredible editing effort. Careful as others might invite you to do better!
