Way to go Drew... no YT’s, but at least your fishing. Enjoyed running into you on the boat last year. This is good vid for us landlocked So. Az. people😀..... Brett ...see your still liking that Lexa
I noticed on a vid a while back u were using a saltist for irons. So on it did u remove the stalk brake weights? Also on a. Comment u mentioned once dialed in it casts nicely do you dial it in with the cast control? And do u fish most of your reels with it set? Also I couldn't tell but do u thumb the spool Lip? Sry for all the questions anything would help thx
I own two Saltist reels and their both conventional openface models. Saltist BG40: drive.google.com/open?id=19SpnUs7QB_WtTVG-5VdvawLPvbuoTd3n Saltist LD40: drive.google.com/open?id=0B4tq5wleWyX1NEhEWHB5QVJaV28 I think you may be referring to the Lexa 400: drive.google.com/open?id=1tXHqUyF_RWfHRm6HkTP04PSGCFpLVviT drive.google.com/open?id=11et8dT5YsymXUXYD9zWnP-dUeo6RJ-1q I fish the Lexa 400 with the spool tensioner backed out (off) and the magnetic cast control set at zero. I use my thumb to control lashing on almost all of my reels. I made a video showing that if you set the spool tensioner and mag control correctly you can actually cast without your thumb. You just can't cast as far (still pretty far though), so that's why I rarely use it. LEXA VIDEO: drive.google.com/open?id=1W2tW32SvxzYrbe4WCx0_FQL8nm149pSx Hope this helped..
Andrew Kloster no I meant the daiwa bg 35 that you have i saw you using it with a calstar in the video titled "Meanwhile on the new seaforth". I meant the spool tension knob not cast control. I'm just wondering how other people fish thier reels that's all. And on the saltist bg if you open the side plate thier are two centrifugal brake weights that come with the reel.
I had NO idea there were brake weights in the BG... haha. Learn something new every day! :) I fished the reel the way it came out of the box, and backed the spool tensioner all the way out. It casts really well, and the price was good too.
Yeah, right off of Wind & Sea beach. I was fishing the Coltsniper Jerk 120S BS. I replaced the stock treble hooks to VMC inline hooks. You can release healthier fish, and it doesn't snag the kelp as much. drive.google.com/open?id=1S-639UjHhg15jfNau_WugY0DLI5XqZ_Z
Zack Kay, haha! Well technically he's correct, they were going bonkers at the Coronado's, just not off of La Jolla that day. I have a feeling I'll be using Roy's intro more than once this year ;)
