Just found this channel.... And because of you guys i now have a pedersoli sportman 1886 on the way and embarking on the journey making my own vernier sight lol. My wife thanks you all for that. Ive never done long distance shooting, but this looked like so much fun. Im a machinist by trade so the veneir sight will be a nice project too
Most Excellent! Hopefully we can get you out to the ranch and get you on video grinning after ringing some distant steel with your 1886 with your custom sight.
Love the accuracy and love the comraderie. As one shooter said, "hell, I'll take a nick" Also liked the commet, "that must have been a silent gong". Truly enjoyed every minute of the full-watch. Now this is what I call shooting. Slow movement, very patient, and full concentration. 👍🏽🤠 12/6/22
Never ceases to amaze me watching all these new shooters out there with their high tech rifles having a time trying to make hits at 1000 when guys with wood and steel, lead and blackpowder been doing it forever. Great video, thanks for sharing.

This is something I have been looking at for a while. Cap and ball channel then you all blow it out of the park .the thing is next week I am dropping the sender out of a wooded vale to make my own range and black powder is on my mind. Thank you very much. Ame trou and ceep your powder dry 😉
Absolutely addicted to watching y’all having fun shooting these black powder cartridge rifles from a bygone era. Looking for one and saving my nickels for a little while now. Hope to eventually get out to some of these Matches.
John, if you have a good gunsmith then the Remington rolling blocks are easy to come by. I had one converted to 45-70 several years ago. I have a rolling block I was going to convert that is in 7mm but I no longer have a smith and am having too much fun with it as is. I don't even recall where I got it? I sold it a long time ago and just got it back.
It would be a great bit of fun to watch y’all put something together resembling Long Range Shooters of Utah’s milk jug challenge at 1000 yards with such fine rifles. Perhaps show some of the Lapua guys the original definition of long range is still alive and well. Cheers 🍻
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! Been a LONG dry spell. All our matches at my club are cancelled till further notice. Just finished a side lever roller in 32-40 Rem Hepburn and now have no matches to shoot it in. Oh well it will give me time to play with it. You guys give new meaning to the phrase "send it".........
Unfortunately the current circumstance we all find ourselves in has put a crimp our 2020 plans. Our annual event has been postponed. It was shaping up to be the best ever. More cameras, more targets, other channels... Hopefully we can get it done this fall.
What I don't understand is I have never caught anything on fire with cast full metal jacket hollow points nothing of that nature but if you're shooting tracers you'll catch stuff on fire that's for sure I do not understand why they want to shut down ranges when it's dry regular bullets do not cause fires
Thanks guys for these videos. It seems I am always learning something new. Hearing and seeing Wind and his voice makes me happy but also chokes me up a bit. One of the joys of my life was driving Xcountry from NJ to be a part of H5!
Every Memorial Day weekend, I slow way down and hope to hear a gong ring, as I'm driving past an annual shoot, west of Polson, Mt. I'm curious if any of the shooters in this video, attend that event? I'm interested in joining a club.
Hey guys! Great shooting!! I’m transitioning from modern precision long range to some vintage LR. I’m certainly out of my element!! I have an old Marlin Ballard I have mostly restored in 38-55. Looking for some advice on the shooting rests you guys are using? I have a general idea, but was wondering if you could point me in the right direction?! Much different than my Atlas bipods!!
For most matches simple crossed sticks are most commonly used and all that is allowed. The Quigley Match allows the Okanogan Shooting Sticks that you see in many of our videos. Unfortunately the ceased making them in 2018.
The longer Starline brass works well in my Marlins, vintage and Cowboys. The shorter Win brass will work in some of them but the OAL is less than ideal if crimping into the crimp groove. The thinner walled Starline long brass works better with the bullets I use for the .379"+ bores in my Marlins. In some 336 Cowboys a .380" bullet in a Winchester (shorter/thicker) case won't chamber. The Winchesters (smaller sample) seem to have shorter chambers and tighter bores.
The gentleman towards the end with the scope, what was he putting in front of the patch when he was swabbing between shots? Love the videos, seems like an awesome group you get to shoot with!
Howdy y'all! I have been interested in this style of shooting for close to a decade. At this point in my life, I am ready to begin getting involved. Is there a community or forum online? I would like to read and absorb as much as I can. A lot of these sports are so niche, having a linked community online would be a huge help. Thank you for any and all info you can provide! - Brent
@@SagebrushLongshots oh wow hi! For the present in the West Virginia Territory. There used to be a club mid state in ohio that had a thousand yard range but can’t find any info on them. I bought a mess of hard cast and trying to find lead load data for the 405 is proving a major problem. I bought the bullets from Buffalo Arms and I do have primers and some brass. Any leads on load data would be highly appreciated!!! I have a guy friend who is teaching me how to make bullets up so yep this is where I am…. Nice to meet you!! 💫
@@starnavigator6665 I bet the guys over at castboolits.gunloads.com/ could get you pointed in the right direction. The stronger Ruger action gives you a lot of options. Should be a fun journey. Keep us posted.
@@SagebrushLongshots oh muh gosh!!! Thanks so very much soon as I get home I will look that up!! I have received a special prize!!! One Star 💫 coupon redeemable for one adult beverage of your choice!!! Lol. This seems like it’s a not so big a group of people that do this so hopefully one day we can meet up at a match!!
Hey ! I wanna see a Sharps 1863 with paper cartridges 😁 it is the rare rear loading gun you can buy without clearances from authorities in France (Free sale)
If you take your dogs out to the range with you regularly, don't be surprised if they don't come to you when they are called. They have ears too, and no magical dampers to protect their hearing. Consider your faithful friends next time.
