What was your powder load? The case must suffer from reduced powder capacity with these long bullets

I'd love to load that in my Ruger no1 ran at 2100 fps.

The 450 grain is it made to use in the 45 70 they do make a 325 grain and a 400 grain to use and the 45 day sermon

I'd run it through the sizing die and load it again. They are probably 5$ each

I am getting 1900 fps with 500 grain gas checked hard cast

That bullet is not made to use in a45-70
