Did you just admit that there is hollow points in the AEA and ball rounds in the .45 ACP? You do realize that this completely invalidates the penetration test, right? Ball rounds are known for over penetration. I am not saying that round nosed slugs in the AEA .45 will penetrate as much as the ACP....but you have to do apples to apples, and the AEA may have been able to penetrate through the wood as well if not running hollow points

nice air gun. I have the .357 version. absolutely love it. I would like to get the .45 version. but that would put me at 18 air guns. I don't have enough time to shoot them all now. but I have to feed the addiction of air. I can't help myself.

Nice. Closer comparison would be with slugs closer to the acp bullet weight in the AEA, and properly tuned. I think it would have beat out the .45 avp in that case. However, point made is that pcp aur guns at least are now serious weapons, usable for hunting and at least home defense.
That is some great Backyard friendly guns there lol (Just Kidding). Airguns are exciting and fun to shoot. I’m happy with my 1800psi regulated output airgun, which shoots a little shy of 20FPE. Lots of fun and more power than I need hihi
where I hunt deer and hogs, average distance is within 35 yards. this pistol is perfect for that. I have the .357 and it drops game consistently out to 220 yards.
HI JC, I appreciate the time and energy you put into this the comparison it is intriguing. That said I wish you guys(airgun RU-vidrs) wouldn't post videos like this. In our current political climate I'm not sure its the best choice to bring the power of these airguns to light. We are inviting federal scrutiny and the first time someone uses one of these or a gun similar to it in a crime then we will be having to face buying airguns from an FFL just like firearms. Or have them neutered like the Brits deal with. The ATF has already demonstrated they can and will change rules with or without Congressional oversight. Just my two cents.

You can't live your life and base your decisions on how others may act or respond. If you are not doing anything wrong but just enjoying a hobby. Let the cards lay where they fall. Additionally, Airguns are not firearms and are not classified as such in the US. They are much more limited in their overall use. The last time I checked, it takes a significant time to air-up a PCP rifle. Not to mention, the shot capacity is very limited in comparison. Also, the ATF, who I have friends that work for the agency, are already fully aware of the capabilities of the modern day airguns. Happy Shooting 👍🏻😉

It made it completely through one of the 2x8 and 1/2 way through the other. Ball ammo may have made it all the way through. We were shooting Hollow points. 😉👍🏻
Aea litterally sell aea branded 230grain 45cal slugs specifically for that air gun on their website. Also i would test the aea s45 against the 45auto since its a 8shot semi automatic 400ftlb air rifle made by aea that looks almot identicle to the hpmax has the same length barrel but almost 3x the shotcount and alot more power, more power than even 45auto could provide at around 400too 450ftlb. I think that would be the better comparison since both would be semi auto both would have the same 8 shot magazine capacity and both would be classified as pistols and you could shoot the same exact weight and type of slug as the 45auto equivilant being the best comparison you can do if your really comparing the two

Compared to a firearm...."Yes" with an airgun, you are only dealing with lead deposits. With a firearm, you have exploded gun powder residue. A firearm should be cleaned after every use. A pellet gun barrel should be cleaned every 200-300 rounds.😉👍🏻
Looked like you had a blast doing that comparison! Can the AEA handle heavier projectiles? I know some of the bigger rifles (like the AF Texan) get near .44 Mag levels of energy launching heavier bullets.

As long as they don’t do any full auto. I think there’s nothing good that can come from a full auto air rifle. It’s only a matter of time before someone does something stupid with a full auto air rifle and they put more regulations and/or categorize PCP air rifles as a firearm which comes with a tax in some way shape or form. These now have the same FPE as a real firearm and are just as dangerous. But I love the innovation and the fact you can use air to push lead that’s as powerful as a standard military/police sidearm. I mean I’ve seen videos of people shooting the 22 and 25 caliber FX air rifles and there’s no recoil and the suppressor makes it quieter than Hollywood “silencer’s”?! I’ll stick with my break barrels until they come out with a better HPA refill system that isn’t like using a two stroke engine. Love the innovation and this channel. I bought a grub screw from him that made my Gamo Mach 1 Fusion trigger so much better. I love how he always does the Chrono and gives a real world condition FPS and FPE and knocks back a few targets
The 2A applies to all "ARMs" not just firearms. As your video demonstrates, many airguns are very credible arms. There are already a number of localities that regulate and in some cases outright ban airguns. The same legal tests that SCOTUS developed in the Heller and Bruen cases are equally applicable to airguns. However. That does not mean that it will not be necessary to wage the same legal fight to maintain your Constitutional rights as is currently being waged regarding firearms. Like it or not freedom and liberty are not free. Generally, the public's perception of airguns is that of Ralphie and his Red Rider bb gun.

Just to be clear... when you make any form of a weapon illegal/difficult to obtain/etc..you drive the price up / less law abiding people will own them and you create a black market that is fed by straw purchases and residential burglary among many other ways to obtain arms and many other unwanted effects...the bad guys will always have guns.. know why? laws are for law abiding people..laws don't apply to people who you are trying to target because they don't care about laws...

However, I hadn't seen it over the chrono etc. Now that I've seen this review, I'm impressed and I'm going to buy one. The .72 is on my wish list too lol.
