Airgun Detectives > It's awesome that you shoot through stuff because that's exactly what people want to see in a review , that an accuracy at min 50 yards an possibly 100 yards !
i thought the same as you that it was to big for small game but after trying my AEA Terminator 357 on gray squirrels i have found it’s perfect. i’ve shot a little of 200 and the .357 doesn’t destroy them.
Great video. I preordered this when it was first released, I love this gun. I’ve added an hp carbine shroud with baffles, drilled the baffles out for the larger bore, made it a lot quieter, I also have a 450cc carbon fiber bottle on it. I’ve only shot mine out to 60 yards so far but it’s accurate. I just ordered a second one
@@meaghanmcauley1010 it depends on the gun setup really. On the HP max it doesn’t make a difference because it’s already capable of 4500 psi from the factory. Some air guns may only be 3000-3600 psi max fill pressure. In that case, a carbon fiber bottle can handle 4500 psi fill pressure and that can add power to your gun. Now that doesn’t mean because you put a carbon bottle in that you can run 4500 psi, your gun has to be capable of handling it. If you gun isn’t rated for it you can possibly blow seals but also end up with valve lock because your hammer spring isn’t strong enough to overcome the air pressure against the valve, or you’ll end up with very low power shots for the same reason. I hope this helps
I’ve had one for three months now and love it . I tested five different pellets and slugs and found the NSA 93 grain hollow point flat base slugs put out a very consistent 3/4” group at forty yards. The .357 93 grainer will punch through just about every I shot at . I will be getting the AEA HP ss plus .30 next year . It’s the semi auto - sister to the AP Max . I am so hooked on the pcp rifle/handgun styles. Now imagine this same style in the .457 caliber, yes I said .457 . Semi auto !!!!! Coming out in the first of next year 2022 !
I literally just read a review on this in outdoor magazine yesterday and was wondering if and when you'd review it. Low and behold, I logged on to YT today and there it was. Thank you for another great review. It's a MUST have for anyones collection. Merry Christmas to you and yours Bro!
I'm thinking of buying one of these guns and have been watching videos for the last couple of days with a average amount of hours between 8-12 hrs AND that is the best group anyone has been able to do. I've seen a spread of 5-6 INCHES most of the time average distance 35-50 yards. As a retired Law enforcement accuracy is the game I was about ready to give up on this gun. If I can scratch up enough $$$ I think I'm getting one I have to wait for the retirement payment to come in.
Holy Cow....from a guy interested in the PCP world, I would love to see how this is filled....yes dumb question, but with my life in break barrels.....Id like to see it
Not complicated....I will remember that for the future videos....for this one you do need a compressor or a carbon fiber tank that is good for at least 4300 PSI. Have a great Christmas!
Fantastic pistol you have there’s JC what I’d give to be able to own one of those here in the uk, merry Christmas & a happy new year to you & your family & thank you for all the great reviews you do for us 👍🇬🇧.
@@cg9022 most people couldn't shoot a powder burner in their backyard, initial cost is a little high but after that it's extremely cheap to shoot, especially now with the cost of ammo, another plus is hunting these guns with the suppressor are pretty quiet, I know you could suppress a regular firearm but not without tax stamp and all that hassle
And a very merry Christmas to you and yours and all the very best for 2022. As for the AES air pistol , being in the UK this would only be allowed if you have a firearms license but very interesting all the same.
Merry Christmas JC!!! Another great review of an awesome airgun!! I have an AEA HP SS .25 that I've modded with a carbon fiber tank and a longer barrel, with the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 and Juliet 4 red dot and magnifier.
Lol why get a bigger barrel? The whole point of owning one is so you can put it in your backpack. >_>. Or else I would've got the fucking AEA ZEUS instead of a fucking HP MAX .50 cal.
@@Thaib0xer69 still didn't answer my initial question. Why get a barrel attachment for a fucking pistol? U know like those idiots that walk around with the ak pistols yeah that's you. "Because I can" only reason why you would get one is to increase the FPE. imo if you're doing it for looks then that's diff but if u want more FPE might as well get a Zeus that produces 1200 FPE .72cal than a dumbass fucking HP max.
@edwardschlosser1 that's good to know I was considering a 30 cal semi but the 357 hp I seem to be drawn to it . The only thing that concerns me is the noise level
Looks like it was a little difficult or stiff pulling back on the bolt. Can you add any insight on that. Is that a possible somewhat negative feature to consider? You actually seemed a little winded after the 5th shot. Never seen you do that with any other gun, bolt, pump, or break barrel. Just wondering about leverage in the field and not on a bench. Other than that possible negative, very impressed with the gun and as always thanks for another great review.
Michael (great name by the way), other RU-vidrs have noted that it takes some strength to pull the bolt. To make it easier there's a technique to it, but like anything, we will learn.
Most PCP's are designed for longer distance and have precise accuracy. So to take full advantage a scope works best. However, it would be a nice option to have open sights 👍
my ss max is in the mail and should be here in a day or 2. I own 2 other AEA airguns (ss hp in .30 and challenger in .50). and I own several other brands but this is a jewel. snail mail is killing me.
I know a guy that is working on really affordable moderators for these. I tested a prototype and they are amazing. They will also be about 1/4 of the price of any of the competitors. I will feature a review on them in the first part of the year. Happy Shooting 👍
I really liked all your content for the HPmax! Thank You! It is finally coming to Germany and I ordered one. Most shooting will happen just for fun. Can you recommend a reddot plus mount?
With the KINETIC less-than-lethal and less-lethal industry exploding in popularity, everyone and anyone who is a big shot in the industry is getting their offerings to market. E.g., Byrna acquired Tippmann last year and has rushed to market rebadged Tippmann markers (e.g., the TCR) so to keep in a game now dominated by Umarex. The field is ripe for the pickins, and other segments such as airgun manufacturers are too coming up with products like this. (In my travels I noted that the websites I saw were advertising the HP SS line for self defense.) Using myself as an example, I already have the Grimburg VKS, and most Umarex launchers. But similar to this model, I just bought AEA's HP SS Plus in .30 cal. 7.62 mm. It is going on my armory wall to join the VKS, HDB & HDX 68 for home self defense, and to take along with my hopped-up HDP 50 pistol when traveling, e.g., on day trips or vacation. I'm keeping it simple, use a bore sighter to get the laser sighted (the laser sight built into the reflector of my flashlight/defensive strobe unit). That's it, cause like I said, I'm keeping this simple, mainly because anything in the AEA HP SS line is a beasts. Bonus Comment: Although they make these in .22 and .25 cal., IMO you should only consider .30 cal or this model. Don't dilly dally, these were on backorder for a long time, and retailers will run out again as word spreads about this as an excellent home-defense tool.
I own one of these. It is not accurately described as a pistol. Technically, it is a carbine rifle. If you Google an explanation, you'll get something like this: "Rifles are a shoulder-mounted firearm, longer barreled, more stable and easier to shoot, for most people. Pistols are more concealable, smaller, hand-held, shorter barreled." This AEA HP Max isn't easy to conceal even with the folding stock, and you cannot reasonably support and fire it with one hand without having the shoulder stock. I think the best way to rationalize is....anything that qualifies as a pistol should be able to fit in a holster that can be attached to and carried on a waistband or belt. It's safe to say that nobody can comfortably carry this AEA HP Max in a holster attached to their belt. And also, I wouldn't refer to this airgun as a "hand cannon", since any standard 22LR rimfire rifle (the least powerful of all firearm rifles) can put out 200FPE with hyper-velocity ammo, and nobody on this planet would refer to a rimfire rifle as a hand cannon. The HP Max only puts out 150FPE, so do you really believe it deserves the hand cannon designation?
Merry Christmas JC! I was wondering what kind of scope you were using for this pistol? This pistol definitely looks like something I’d like under the tree! 🎄
Another excellent review. This pistol certainly clicks all my boxes. Since one of the downsides is how loud this is....any chance of doing another video using something like a Donny FL Ronin? Thanks
Very nice! What a little hammer! I wonder how that would perform in a gel block? Looks very much like 380 ACP ballistics. In a pinch, I believe that would drop a deer within 40 yards or so.
Hi I just wanted to ask you if you have any washers installed in the gun most people getting with the first shot 820 or 840 fps and you getting 878 with the first shot can you please let me know thank you
Hello a great video. I have a question what kind of scope do you use in the video. I have pre-ordered the AEA HP MAX (Netherlands) and I am still looking for a scope.
Did you watch @macabespeed video on AEA ZEUS .72 cal makes new world record? amazing gun too..watch that 4500psi -561 grain -1551 fps==3000 fpe...watch that video..
