This Fluval Edge was converted to a marine setup which was very successful, cheap to maintain and has everything you need to start in this hobby.
Tank Setup:
* Fluval Edge 46l fish tank and stand.
* Aquaray MiniLED 500HD light with white and blue setting
* Aquaray 2 channel automated light controller with storm function.
* Fluval 106 external canister filter with extended hoses.
* Fluval E heater 100w
* Nano protein skimmer with wooden air stone for better performance.
* HDOM HD-602 controllable air pump used with skimmer.
Filtration setup:
* 6kg Pukani reef rock
* 2kg Caribsea Fiji live sand
* Eheim Substrat pro Bio filter media for the best biological decomposition of toxins.
* Eheim internal filter foam pads.

I love these tanks and want to get into a reef tank. I was wondering how much up keep this is with the added skimmer and canister? I know people that have these with no conversion say what a pain they are to clean and weekly water changes. How often do you have to change water and vacuum and scrub coral ect since you have the xtra gear. I know one for sale used for 80 bucks, I already have a rimless I bought but after I saw ur video and hers so cheap i thought i might do this, if its a lot easier to maintain. Its such a geogouses tank but not sure if it would be worth the effort with the small hole if I had to change water and thoroughly clean weekly. Yours looks beautiful!

Buenas noches, tengo miles de preguntas. Tengo la misma pecera con tropicales y estaba a punto de comprar una pecera completa para marinos hasta que vi tu video. Preguntas: la luz que viene en el fluval le alcanza? El filtro cascada se lo dejaste? Donde pusiste el skimmer o como hiciste para sacar las proteínas? Que más le agregaste a la fluval para tener semejante belleza. Hermoso lo que hiciste.

Did the regular filter not work so well that you installed the canister? Is that difficult and take up a lot of room in back of tank. I was planing on placing on kitchen counter but couldnt do that with canister so wondering if it made a huge difference than regular filtration? I believe regular was a 3 stage filtration so I figured it would do quite well.
